Tarn et Garonne France - 3 Nights
What a stunning region! I had never heard of Tarn et Garonne prior to organizing this visit. The region is located just north of Toulouse. The main town of the region is the beautiful Rose Village on Montauban – called this because of the lovely pink colour of the clay of the area which was used to make bricks.
This region is all about agriculture - fantastic produce and wine. This is definitely an area to embrace slow tourism and to savour. This visit includes the lovely town of Caussade, home of hats in France, then takes the viewer to beautiful Montauban. Go on a tour of Montauban including a restaurant stop. Visit Chateau St-Louis for a glass of wine. Stay at Chateau Peyrot and have amazing homemade food.
Then on to a day of art! La Cuisine is an architectural marvel of the old and the new and home to modern art exhibitions that focus on themes around agriculture. Lunch in the beautiful town of Varen. A visit to the haunting and beautiful Beaulieu Abbey - another site for modern art exhibitions.
Finish up with a stay at Le Couvent de Neuviale. Then make sure you watch my video on Saint Antonin Noble Val to complete your time in Tarn et Garonne.

Survival Tips for Driving in France – Part Two
Number 1. If you import your right-hand drive car, it can be complicated as your vehicle will need to conform to French manufacture and use regulations. If it is a model or make not on sale in France, things could become a real hassle. And if you stay in France for more than a month, you will have to change to a French registration (in theory at least).
Number 2. If your car is getting on in years, you will have to think about taking it along for an M.O.T (le contrôle technique), at an officially-approved centre. After this, it is every two years.
Number 3. Most French motorways are toll paying. On short stretches the amount can be a flat rate (or even free) but it usually depends on the distance you drive. Don't lose your ticket or you will be required to pay the maximum toll.
Number 4. French motorway signs are blue, and usually indicate the destination more frequently than the motorway number. So, if you are driving from Lyon to Chambéry, you are likely to see more 'Chambéry' signs than 'A43'.
Number 5. Many French motorways are two-lane only, or have long two-way stretches. Be careful, as there can be sudden traffic slow-downs due to trucks taking ages to inch past each other.
Number 6. Be careful on French motorways as many drivers lack road discipline. It is the usual tricks: in spite of the 130 kilometers per hour limit, apparently 39% of them drive at speeds between 130 and 150 kilometers per hour.
Number 7. I know it sounds obvious, but the French do drive on the right. You will soon get used to it, but you will have to concentrate in the beginning.
Number 8. Electronic speed camera detectors are illegal in France. Simply having one in your car could render you liable to a fine.
Number 9. Driving your right-hand car in France can be a bit tricky when it comes to overtaking as you have to pull out more to see any oncoming traffic.
Number 10. Maximum speed limits are clearly displayed on all roads in France. At present there are rumours about lowering them all by 10 kilometers per hour.
Number 11. Be careful of roadside and police in-vehicle speed cameras - especially in villages where the limit is 50 kilometers per hour. You can easily get caught out.
Number 12. When approaching an unmarked road junction, the rule is to give way to all traffic approaching you from the right - even if the road is minor.

The Charming Village of Bruniquel, Episode 325
On today's episode of the podcast Annie Sargent and Elyse Rivin have a conversation about Bruniquel. Bruniquel is one of those little towns in the south west of France that are beautiful and tell a great story.
And look at all the other wonderful places you can visit nearby! Gaillac, Albi and Saint-Cirq-Lapopie are nearby (link to episodes dedicated to those places below). We'll also publish episodes in the next few weeks about Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val and Castelnau de Montmiral. Annie particularly enjoyed the chateau of Penne. Puycelsi is good too. It is possible to see two or 3 of these villages in a day. Lots to see and enjoy in the southwest of France!

Gite Poujol, 82 Tarn-et-Garonne
Montfermier is een kleine landelijke gemeente op de heuvels midden tussen Cahors en Caussade halverwege tussen Molière en Montpezat, in de Quercy Blanc of Bas Quercy.
De landschappen bestaan uit gevarieerde landbouwgrond zoals bos, graslanden, akkers, meren.
De vakantiewoning bestaat uit een grote woonkamer: grote eetkeuken: badkamer: toilet: 3 slaapkamers boven.
Groot terras met tuin.
Er is een opzet zwembad waar iedereen even heerlijk in kan zwemmen. Wel bandjes mee nemen voor de kinderen! De hele kleintjes kunnen er niet in staan.
Er is ook een tafeltennis tafel aanwezig. Ook hier voor moet je zelf balletjes en bladjes mee nemen.
Door de ligging in een heerlijk natuurgebied met veel bossen heeft u veel privacy (alleen vossen en reeën kunnen uw rust verstoren), de bewoonde wereld is echter niet ver.
Op slechts 25 km ligt het prachtige middeleeuwse Sarlat.
In de Dordogne vallei is zoveel te genieten en te beleven dat een verblijf van meerdere weken zeker aan te raden is.
