Castlewood State Park, St Louis Missouri - Park Travel Review

Some have said that Castlewood State Park is the best State Park in the St Louis area (maybe even the state). It certainly is a good one! Castlewood is always mentioned if someone asks where to travel in Missouri. The trails at Castlewood State Park are varied! Kay met a friend from out of town in the park for a hike and to collect her stamp for the Missouri State Park Passport book. It was a beautiful park for a Summer hike near the city! The views overlooking the Meramec River from the trail are truly fantastic!

At Happy Trails Hiking, we encourage you to live the life you love and seek solace and adventure in America’s Parks and Public Lands. We strive to motivate and inspire people through travel.

Castlewood State Park - Sunrise - Park Travel Review

Heading our early for Castlewood State Park in St Louis was a great way to start the day. We just needed to decompress. Getting outside on a trail is our best way to do that.
At Castlewood State Park, we chose the River Scene Trail. On this trail we found vast views from the bluffs of the Meramec River, ruins of an old staircase as a couple the concrete structures that we can't identify. We just needed this 3.5 miles outside today.
