Rio de Janeiro or simply #Rio, is the second-most populous attractions in Brazil and the sixth-most populous in the Americas. A city rich in culture and dramatically set between the mountains plus the sea have surprises around every corner. The city has been designated as a World Heritage Site, named Rio de Janeiro Carioca Landscapes between the Mountain and the Sea, by UNESCO on 1 July 2012 as a Cultural Landscape.
Rio de Janeiro is on the far western part of a strip of Brazil's #Atlantic coast close to the Tropic of #Capricorn where the shoreline is oriented east west. Facing largely south, the city was founded on an inlet of this stretch of the coast and its entrance is marked by a point of land called Sugar Loaf (Pão de Açúcar) a calling card of the city.
Rio de Janeiro is one of the most visited cities in the Southern Hemisphere and is known for its natural settings Carnival, samba, bossanova, and #balneario beaches such as Barra da Tijuca, #Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon. In addition to the beaches, some of the most famous landmarks include the giant statue of Christ the Redeemer atop #Corcovado Mountain named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, #Sugarloaf Mountain with its cable car the Sambadrome and a permanent grandstand-lined parade avenue which is used during Carnival.
Rio de Janeiro was one of the Host Cities for the #2014FIFAWorldCup, welcoming millions of people as they make their way to this international sporting event. In addition, it did host the #2016SummerOlympics, inviting sportsmen and women, as well as their millions of fans, to focus their attention on this bustling destination.

Brazil is the fifth most-populous country on Earth and accounts for one-third of Latin America's population. But there are also dry grasslands (called pampas), rugged hills, pine forests, sprawling wetlands, immense plateaus, and a long coastal plain.Northern Brazil is dominated by the Amazon River and the jungles that surround it. The Amazon is not one river but a network of many hundreds of waterways. Its total length stretches 4,250 miles (6,840 kilometers). Thousands of species live in the river, including the infamous piranha and the boto, or pink river dolphin.Most Brazilians are descended from three ethnic groups: Amerindians, European settlers (mainly from Portugal), and Africans. Starting in the 19th century, waves of immigrants from Europe, the Middle East, and even Japan added to this mix. This diversity of cultures has created a rich religious, musical, and culinary culture.Brazil has the greatest variety of animals of any country in the world. It is home to 600 mammal species, 1,500 fish species, 1,600 bird species, and an amazing 100,000 different types of insects. Brazil's jungles are home to most of its animal life, but many unique species also live in the pampas and semidesert regions.
In the central-western part of Brazil sits a flat, swampy area called the Pantanal. This patchwork of flooded lagoons and small islands is the world's largest wetland. Here live giant anacondas, huge guinea pig relatives called capybaras, and fierce South American alligators called caimans.
For thousands of years, people have been exploiting the jungles of Brazil. But since Europeans arrived about five centuries ago, forest destruction has been rampant. Most of Brazil's Atlantic rain forest is now gone, and huge tracts of the Amazon are disappearing every year. The government has established many national parks and refuges, but they only cover about 7 percent of the country.
Brazilians are soccer crazy, and their country has produced some of the best players. The most famous of all is Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé. Brazil has won the World Cup soccer finals five times, more than any other nation.Brazil is a federal republic with a president, a National Congress, and a judiciary. From 1888 until recently, the country struggled with democracy. But in 1985, the military government was peacefully removed, and by 1995, Brazil's politics and economy had become fairly stable.
Brazil has many different soils and climates, so it can produce a great variety of crops. Its agricultural exports include sugarcane, latex, coffee, cocoa beans, cotton, soybeans, rice, and tropical fruits.
Brazil is also South America's most industrial nation, producing chemicals, steel, aircraft, and cars.

Well, copacabana beach is probably the most famous beach in brazil and there´re many hotel and apartments options to have a pleasure stay in this area. CANTAGALO - PAVÃO - PAVÃOZINHO
Situadas em um morro entre Ipanema e Copacabana, as favelas do Cantagalo e Pavão-Pavãozinho têm vista para alguns dos bairros mais emblemáticos (e caros) da “Cidade Maravilhosa”.
Para muitos visitantes, esse morro é o primeiro vislumbre de uma realidade distinta da paisagem mais visitada da Zona Sul do Rio, caracterizada por praias ensolaradas e hotéis luxuosos.
A história dessas comunidades remonta à chegada de ex-escravos de Minas Gerais (que se estabeleceram no Cantagalo) e do Nordeste brasileiro (que se instalaram no Pavão-Pavãozinho) em 1907, servindo às áreas abaixo: isso foi na mesma época do início da urbanização de Copacabana.
Possui cerca de 5.000 moradores. Por se situar em um morro próximo ao mar, possui uma das vistas mais privilegiadas da cidade, podendo de lá ser observadas a parais da Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon e a Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas.
O conjunto de favelas, apesar de se situar em uma das zonas mais nobres da cidade, possui graves problemas sociais, como pobreza, violência e tráfico de drogas.
O jogo virtual Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 se inspirou na favela Pavão-Pavãozinho.
A cantora brasileira Fernanda Brum tem uma música intitulada Pavão-Pavãozinho.
O cantor e compositor Bezerra da Silva era originário da comunidade do Cantagalo.
