???????? Street Walk Campo Grande Brazil - 4K

Campo Grande is a Brazilian municipality in the Midwest region , capital of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul . Historic stronghold of divisionists between the south and the north, Campo Grande was founded by miners, who came to take advantage of the native pasture fields and the crystalline waters of the cerrado region. The city was planned in the midst of a vast green area, with wide streets and avenues and with several gardens between its streets, it is one of the most wooded cities in Brazil [ 10 ] and 96.3% of the houses have shade. of a grove.

The city was founded on June 21, 1872, when José Antônio Pereira arrived and settled in fertile and completely uninhabited lands in the Serra de Maracaju, at the confluence of two streams - later called Prosa and Segredo - and which is currently the Horto Florestal. . On August 14, 1875, Pereira finally returned with his family (wife and eight children), slaves, and others (a total of 62 people) and left João Nepomuceno in charge of his ranch. [ 11 ] It still has a strong relationship with indigenous culture and its historical roots. Because of the color of its land (purple or red), it was nicknamed Cidade Morena .. The city is located in a plateau region, where it is possible to see the limits of the horizon line in the background of any landscape. The city has a population of about 910 thousand inhabitants (or 31.77% of the state total) and about 104 inhab/km², being the third largest and most developed urban center in the Center-West Region of Brazil and the 19th most population of Brazil , according to an estimate by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), base date July 1, 2020.

Among its residents it is possible to find descendants of Spaniards, Italians, Portuguese, Japanese, Syrian-Lebanese, Armenians, Paraguayans and Bolivians. The quality of life in Campo Grande ended up attracting many people from other Brazilian states, especially from neighbouring states ( São Paulo , Paraná and Minas Gerais ) and Rio Grande do Sul . According to a survey carried out in 2006 by Exame magazine , Campo Grande is the 28th best city in the country in terms of infrastructure, [ 12 ]decisive factor in attracting investment. The city also ranked 107th among Brazilian municipalities with more than 100,000 inhabitants in deaths from aggression (homicides) and in violent deaths from undetermined causes (MVCI), where it recorded 200 murders in the study (23.4 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants). ), according to a study by the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA) [ 13 ]

Campo Grande (Brazilian Portuguese: [ˈkɐ̃pu ˈɡɾɐ̃dʒi],[a] lit. 'Great Field') is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul in the Center-West region of the country. The city is nicknamed Cidade Morena (Swarthy City in Portuguese) because of the reddish-brown colour of the region's soil. It has a population of 906,092, according to a 2020 IBGE estimate,[2] while its metropolitan area is home to 991,420 people (2010).

The region where the city is located was in the past a waypoint for travellers who wanted to go from São Paulo or Minas Gerais to northern Mato Grosso by land. In the early 1900s a railway was completed connecting Campo Grande to Corumbá, on the Bolivian border, and to Bauru, São Paulo. Also in the beginning of the 20th century, the Western Brazilian Army Headquarters was established in Campo Grande, making it an important military center.

With a population growth from 140,000 people in 1970 to 750,000 people in 2008, Campo Grande is the third largest urban center of the Center-West region, and the 23rd largest city in the country. In 1977, the State of Mato Grosso was split into two, and Campo Grande became the capital of the new state of Mato Grosso do Sul, comprising the southern portion of the former state. By that time, Campo Grande had long surpassed the latter's capital city of Cuiabá in population, which is unusual in Brazil, where most capitals are also the states' largest cities.

Today, the city has its own culture, which is a mixture of several ethnic groups, most notably immigrants from the Japanese prefecture of Okinawa,[3] Middle Easterners,[4] Armenians,[5] Portuguese people, Germans, Italians, Spaniards, and Paraguayans,[6] finally mixed with Asian and White Brazilians from the Brazilian Southern and Southeast regions, its native Amerindian peoples and Afro-Brazilians.

The BEST of Travel in TUCUMAN ???? | Visiting the SMALLEST PROVINCE in Argentina! ????????

Today we're showing you the best of travel in Tucuman as we visit the smallest province in Argentina! In this whirlwind tour, we’ll experience a myriad of landscapes ranging from lush jungles to arid deserts, we’ll come across mysterious monolithic stone carvings, we’ll sample some of the famous deli meats and cheeses this region is known for, we’ll stand under the shade of an 800-year-old cactus, we’ll devour some delicious empanadas, and we’ll also visit some of the largest pre-Columbian ruins in all of South America.

Tucuman may be small, but it is packed with unique attractions. So we invite you to come along and experience some of the highlights Tucuman has to offer!

Places we visited in Tucuman:

???? Monumento al Indio ????

This 6-metre tall monument is located on the road to Tafi del Valle and it represents the 'chasqui' meaning 'messenger' in the Quechua language. This is a popular roadside stop where you get sweeping views of the valley, plus there's also a roadside market where you can grab a snack or pick up a few souvenirs.

???? Los Menhires ????

This is a collection of 50 carved stones that were found scattered across the valley, and were then moved to an archaeological reserve in the town of El Mollar. These megaliths were created by the Tafi culture and they feature human faces, llamas, and symbols of fertility.

???? Tafí del Valle ????

The town of Tafi del Valle is a popular destination for anyone travelling through the province of Tucuman. The town is very walkable and it has an abundance of artisanal shops, so it's a great place to shop for souvenirs; you'll find clay pots, hand-woven baskets and textiles. The town is also known for its cheese festival, so we had to buy (and try) some of their chimichurri cheese.

???? Mirador el Infiernillo ????

Mirador el Infiernillo translates to the 'lookout to hell'. A bit of a dramatic name, but it is located at an altitude of 3,042 metres above sea level, so maybe whoever named this place wasn’t feeling their best (hello altitude sickness!) This is the highest traversable pass in the province, so we stopped to take photos.

????Grandfather Cactus ????

The grandfather cactus is an 800-year-old cactus that sits in the middle of the valley. Apparently, this type of cactus (cardón) only grows between 1-1.5 centimetres per year, and this one stands over 8 metres tall, so it's considered the grandfather of all the other cacti in the area. The landscape here is dry and arid.

???? Amaicha del Valle ????

This town marked our lunch stop of the day. We ate at a restaurant called Warmy Sonkoy, on the side of the road. We ordered humitas, tamales and empanadas, as you do when you're travelling in northern Argentina! It was a tasty and filling meal before continuing on with our day tour across Tucuman.

???? Quilmes ????

The Sacred City of Quilmes is located in the Calchaquí Valleys and it was the site of the largest pre-Hispanic settlement in all of Argentina. Dating back to 850 AD, this site occupied 30 hectares, and at its height, about 5,000 people lived here. The Quilmes were exiled by the Spanish in a dramatic exodus where they were forced to walk 1,200 kilometres across the country to Buenos Aires. Few survived and those who did later succumbed to diseases that were unknown to them.

Last Day in BUENOS AIRES, Argentina + Start of Our PATAGONIA TRIP! ✈️????️

This was our last day in Buenos Aires before the travelling trio became the travelling duo once more. After 6 weeks travelling together across Argentina and Uruguay, my dad Daniel flew back home, while Sam and I hopped on a flight south to begin the Patagonia leg of our journey. But before we parted ways, we had time for one final meal in Buenos Aires and some reminiscing as we walked through the city parks.

In this video we'll take you to our favourite local restaurant Bodegón Norte. This is a place that we try to visit at least once when we're in Buenos Aires. It's the type of restaurant where the food is good, the portions are large, and the service is quick. We ordered some classics like milanesa, merluza and sorrentinos.

Then, we enjoyed a walk through one the city squares. It was springtime and the jacaranda trees were in bloom with these beautiful lilac flowers.

We then took a cab to Ezeiza, where my dad flew back to Toronto, while Sam and I got on a flight bound for Bariloche in Northern Patagonia. The plan: to slowly travel all the way down to the ends of the earth!
