WHERE TO STAY IN BUDAPEST: A DISTRICT GUIDE -- True Guide Budapest
The city of Budapest covers more than 500 square kilometers. It is split down the middle by the River Danube, with the residential and hilly Buda on the west side, and the commercial, flat Pest on the east side of it. Budapest has 23 districts (kerület in Hungarian), which are numbered clockwise in widening circles (like Paris' arrondissements). It is easy to find the district from the address of a location, as the two middle digits of the four number zip code indicate it (for example: zip code 1056 means 5th district).
I created this district guide to help you choose where to stay in Budapest depending on the atmosphere and your travel style.
DISTRICT I.: romantic / first time visit
this is the castle district
DISTRICTS II., III., OR XII.: to enjoy greenery and relax
these are all on the hilly Buda side (Rózsadomb, Óbuda, Svábhegy)
DISTRICT V.: the downtown, ideal for business or for families with smaller kids
the city centre (Belváros)
DISTRICT VI.: on a budget and/or to enjoy the culture of the city
this are is called Terézváros
DISTRICT VII.: the Jewish neighborhood but also has great nightlife
this are is called Erzsébetváros
DISTRICTS VIII. AND IX.: cool but perhaps rough neighborhoods
they are called Józsefváros and Ferencváros
DISTRICTS IV. AND X.: they are mainly lower middle class residential and industrial districts
they are called Újpest and Kőbánya
DISTRICTS XI., XIII., AND XIV.: primarily upper middle class residential
district XI. is called Újbuda (on the Buda side), XIII. is Újlipótváros and XIV. is Zugló.
ALL OTHER DISTRICTS (XV., XVI., XVII., XVIII., XIX., XX., XXI., XXII., XXIII.) are further out from the city

I was born and have lived in this beautiful city, Budapest for decades. I am in love with it - and not because I haven’t seen anything else. I am a seasoned traveller and I have also spent many years living abroad. However, my heart (and wife, and jobs and goulash soup and lángos) have pulled me back to my birth town. I love this city and know it inside out.

Budapest District 6 - Terézváros [4k Ultra HD 60fps ]
Terézváros is a neighborhood in the 6th district of Budapest, Hungary, located just west of the city center. The area is named after Maria Theresa, who was the queen of Hungary in the 18th century.
Terézváros is known for its stunning architecture, particularly its impressive collection of Art Nouveau buildings. Some of the most notable examples of this style can be found on the famous Andrássy Avenue, which runs through the heart of the neighborhood. One of the most famous buildings on this avenue is the Hungarian State Opera House, which is considered to be one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world.
Aside from its architecture, Terézváros is also known for its cultural scene, featuring a number of museums, theaters, and galleries. One of the most famous museums in the area is the House of Terror, which is dedicated to the victims of the fascist and communist regimes that ruled Hungary in the 20th century. The neighborhood is also home to the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, which is considered one of the most prestigious music schools in the world.
In addition to its cultural offerings, Terézváros is a popular destination for shopping, dining, and nightlife. The neighborhood is home to a number of trendy cafes, restaurants, and bars, particularly in the area around the bustling Oktogon Square.

Utopija VLOG - Budimpešta 2024.
Evo malo utisaka sa četvorodnevne posete Budimpešti.
U januaru 2024. sa porodicom sam otišao na citi brejk. Poslovno sam obilazio Peštu ali ne i ovako. Sada se ukazala prilika da je i turistički istražimo. Koliko se može za tri, četiri dana.
Smešteni smo bili u UP hotelu. Savršena lokacija. Pored smeštaja odlučili smo se da platimo i parking u hotelu što nas je stajalo 25 evra po danu. Garaža je u podrumu hotela tako da je, i ako skuplja varijanta, svakako praktičnija varijanta nego da smo jurili jeftiniji parking pa išli prevozom... Kola nismo kroistili tokom boravka u Budimpešti. Hotel je na minut od muzeja Terora u Andraši ulici. Odatle, za maksimum 40.minuta smo mogli da stignemo do svake lokacije koju smo nameravali da posetimo.
Inače, hotel je za preporuku. Odličan doručak, sve je čisto i uredno. Kao što rekoh lokacija fantastična. Tražili smo sobu koja gleda u dvorište hotela tako da je bilo bez ulične buke, a i prozori su novi i odlična je izolacija... Bukirali smo ga preko Bukinga.
Bilo je hladno ali bez padavina tako da su šal, kapa i rukavice bili obavezna i savršena kombinacija tokom pešačenja.
Što se obilazaka tiče, usredsredili smo se na glavna obeležja grada što možete videti u videu. Ulazak na sve lokacije, unutar objekata se plaća i cena ide od 20 do 40 evra po osobi. Preporuka je da se pre dolaska u grad odlučite gde ćete ući i da to završite onlajn da bi izbegli gužvu... Naša neorganizovanost nas je usmerila na pogrešno mesto jer smo čuli da u gradu ima jedna od najlepših biblioteka u gradu i nekako smo završili u biblioteci Mađarskog parlamenta umesto u biblioteci Budimskog zamka. A kada smo hteli da ispravimo grešku uvideli smo da biblioteka ne radi vikendom... To će biti jedan od ciljeva za neku buduću posetu kao i poseta Citadeli koja je bila otvorena.
Što se menjačnica tiče treba se biti obazriv jer pokušavaju da se ugrade. Obavezno se raspitajte kolika je provizija uz dati kurs jer ide od 1 pa do 10%. Mi smo menjali na raskrsnici Oktagon gde je bilo 1% provizija.
Verujem da je na proleće Budimpešta još lepša. Verovatno su i kombinacije sa karticom odbre ali treba i to prvo istražiti.

Современный город Будапешт — это объединенные в 1873 году древние поселения Буда, Обуда и Пешт. Город раскинулся на берегах Дуная в самом центре Венгрии — река и сегодня делит его на две части (западную горную и холмистую Буду и равнинный восточный Пешт).
Городу почти 2000 лет — в І веке н. э. римляне основали на холмах Буды Аквинкум, ставший частью Римской империи. Потом сюда пришли мадьяры со своим королем Иштваном — сегодня он считается одним из главных покровителей Будапешта.
Видели стены города и турецкое иго (именно турки повлияли на бурный расцвет купален и рассказали венграм о паприке), и австрийцев, и немецких оккупантов, и советские танки. Тем не менее, официально Будапешт основан 17 ноября 1873 года (именно в этот день Обуда, Буда и Пешт объединились в новый город).
Базилика Святого Стефана - Это монументальное здание имеет форму равностороннего креста. К основному зданию с двух сторон пристроены колокольни, в одной из которых висит гигантский колокол массой 9 тонн. Полумрак помещения настраивает на возвышенные чувства и мысли, заставляя на время забыть свои проблемы и оставить суету за порогом. Сильное впечатление производит также и богатое убранство храма. Стены и колонны декорированы разноцветной мозаикой, росписями художников, резьбой и позолотой. С витражных стекол на посетителей с любовью и всепрощением смотрят лики святых. В алтарной части базилики имеется мумифицированная кисть руки первого правителя Венгрии.
Центральный рынок - Это восхитительное здание из цветного кирпича больше напоминает музей, чем торговые ряды. Его стены украшены лепниной, орнаментами и элементами ковки. Внешнюю легкость им придает обилие окон и арок. Но особое восхищение вызывает крыша, покрытая разноцветной черепицей. Здание располагается на 10 000 м², и при этом имеет три этажа. Его проект разрабатывал известный архитектор Самюил Пец при поддержке действующего тогда мэра столицы Карла Камермайера. В многочисленных торговых киосках рынка можно купить по доступной цене продукты питания, одежду, посуду, национальные сувениры, к которым относятся тряпичные куклы, вышитые салфетки и прочие предметы ручной работы.

Budapest Magyarország fővárosa és legnépesebb városa. A város határain belül népességét tekintve az Európai Unió kilencedik legnagyobb városa és a második legnagyobb Duna-parti város; A város lakossága 1 752 286 főre becsülhető, mintegy 525 négyzetkilométernyi területen. Budapest, amely város és megye is egyben, a budapesti nagyvárosi térség központja, amelynek területe 7626 négyzetkilométer (2944 négyzetmérföld), lakossága pedig 3.303.786; prímás város, Magyarország lakosságának 33%-át teszi ki.
Budapest története akkor kezdődött, amikor egy korai kelta település Alsó-Pannon fővárosa, Aquincum római városává alakult át. A magyarok a 9. század végén érkeztek a területre, de a területet 1241–42-ben a mongolok kifosztották. Az újjáalakult Buda a 15. századra a reneszánsz humanista kultúra egyik központja lett. Az 1526-os mohácsi csatát közel 150 éves oszmán uralom követte. Buda 1686-os visszafoglalása után a régió a fellendülés új korszakába lépett, Pest-Buda Buda, Óbuda és Pest 1873. november 17-i egyesülése után globális várossá vált, az új főváros a Budapest nevet kapta. . Budapest az I. világháborút követően 1918-ban felbomló nagyhatalom, az Osztrák-Magyar Birodalom társfővárosa is lett. A város az 1848-as magyar forradalom, az 1945-ös budapesti csata, valamint az 1945-ös budapesti csata gyújtópontja volt. Az 1956-os magyar forradalom.

Több mint 40 főiskola és egyetem található Budapesten, köztük az Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem, a Corvinus Egyetem, a Semmelweis Egyetem, a Budapesti Állatorvostudományi Egyetem és a Budapesti Műszaki és Gazdaságtudományi Egyetem. A város 1896-ban megnyílt metrórendszere, a Budapesti Metró 1,27 millió, a Budapesti Villamoshálózat 1,08 millió utast szolgál ki naponta. Budapest építészetileg figyelemre méltó épületei sokféle stílusban és különböző időszakokból származnak, az óbudai Aquincum római városától (III. kerület), amely körülbelül i.sz. 89-ig nyúlik vissza, a legmodernebb Művészetek Palotájáig, a kortárs művészeti múzeum és koncertterem.
A legtöbb budapesti épület viszonylag alacsony: a 2010-es évek elején körülbelül 100 épület volt 45 méternél (148 lábnál) magasabb. A sokemeletes épületek számát alacsonyan tartja az építési jogszabályok, amelyek a történelmi városkép megőrzését és a világörökségi követelmények teljesítését célozzák. Szigorú szabályok vonatkoznak a sokemeletes épületek tervezésére, engedélyezésére és építésére, következésképpen a belváros nagy részén nincs ilyen. Egyes tervezők a felhőkarcolók építésére vonatkozó szabályok enyhülését szeretnék elérni, és felvetődött a felhőkarcolók építésének lehetősége a város történelmi magján kívül is.
Az építészeti stílusok kronológiai sorrendjében Budapest a teljes idővonalon megjelenik, kezdve az ókori építészetet képviselő Aquincummal.
A következő meghatározó stílus a budapesti gótikus építészet. A néhány megmaradt gótikus épület a Várnegyedben található. A figyelemre méltó épületek a sz. századi Országház utca 18., 20. és 22. szám alatt, valamint az Úri utca 31. szám alatt, melynek gótikus homlokzata a XV. További gótikus jellegű épületek a 12. században épült Belvárosi plébániatemplom és a 15. században elkészült Mária Magdolna-templom. A legjellegzetesebb gótikus stílusú épületek valójában neogótikusak, mint például Budapest legismertebb nevezetességei, az Országház és a Mátyás-templom, ahol az eredeti anyagok nagy részét felhasználták (1015-ben román stílusban épült). #budapest #budapesthungary #mapschool #mapsolo #maps #mapas

Pest is the relatively flat eastern (right) bank side, with the Parliament, numerous other stately buildings, and busy streets retaining all their 19th century architectural heritage.
In 1987 Budapest was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List for the cultural and architectural significance of the Banks of the Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter and Andrássy Avenue.

Téli séta az Esztergomi Várhegyen és a városban.
A több mint 50 méter magas Esztergomi vár a Duna jobb partján emelkedő, szakadékos oldalfalakkal határolt magaslaton áll. Esztergom egyik legfőbb látnivalójának számít a Bazilikával együtt. Az Esztergomi Bazilika 1822 – 1869 között épült klasszicista stílusban. Ez Magyarország legnagyobb temploma, a magyarországi katolikus egyház főszékesegyháza.
Az Esztergomi Bazilikát tudom ajánlani a kulturális kikapcsolódásra vágyók figyelmébe. A Bazilika templomtere és az altemploma nyitva áll a személyes imádságra. Bazilika óriási alagsorában megtekinthetjük Mindszenty József hercegprímás sírját. Az Esztergomi Várhegyen tett séta során nem szabad kihagyni a Melocco szobort. Melocco Miklós Szent István megkoronázását ábrázoló szobra az északi rondellán található, ahonnan pompás kilátás nyílik a Dunakanyarra. A bazilika mellett áll a királyi palota, amely eredetileg királyi rezidenciának épült. A palota teljes körű felújítása 2015-re készült el – így annak is érdemes megnézni, aki korábban már végigjárta.
A város néhány ponton nagyon hasonlít az olasz városok szerkezetére, a Széchenyi tér déli oldalán található, árkádos barokk stílusú palota is remekül beleillik az itáliai stílust idéző képbe. Az tér közepén található az 1900. augusztus 15-én átadott, fehér mészkőből készült Szentháromság szoborcsoport. A költő születésének 125. évfordulója alkalmából avatták fel az esztergomi Babits Mihály szobrot.
Kis-Duna sétány a Kis-Duna jobb partján található. Esztergom Királyi városrészén halad észak-déli irányba, egészen a Vízivárosig. Párhuzamosan fut a Deák Ferenc utcával, ez a királyi városrész nyugati határa. A Szent Ignác plébániatemplom, vagy más néven Vízivárosi plébániatemplom (helyi nevén: kéttornyú templom) a Mindszenty téren, a Víziváros főterén található, a prímási palota közvetlen szomszédságában. Az épület a magyar barokk építészet kiemelkedő alkotása.
A Mária Valéria híd Esztergomot köti össze a Szlovákiai Párkánnyal. A fotókat egy hideg, szürke téli napon készítettem!
