There has been a few developments in Braybrook. One of them is the new shopping centre on Ballarat Road called H Braybrook or Home Consortium in Braybrook, where I some parts of my walk were. There has been a relatively new development apartment complex called Braybrook Mews, also on Ballarat Road, not far from the Home Consortium is.

I thought i show you around this Place as this is where I grew up.
Braybrook is situated aprox.9km west of Melbourne,Melbourne, its local Government area is the City of Mribyrnong. Pop aprox 10.000
Approximately midway between the former Councils of Footscray and Sunshine in the heart of the western suburbs before the more recent urban sprawl and due west from the Melbourne CBD along Ballarat Road, Braybrook is starting to resemble a bedroom community due to a recent expansion of the western suburbs of Melbourne which are far less populated than the east. Historically this is due to stigma, but the western suburbs are expanding now due to prime location and rising fuel prices. Some gentrification has occurred in the past decade with many former factory sites developed for modern housing projects (townhouses etc.). More and more first home buyers and developers are focusing on Braybrook and neighbouring Maidstone and West Footscray, but traces of its industrial past may be still evident.
( Braybrook ) has been ranked 95 out of top 314 most liveable suburbs in Melbourne in 2011 Liveability Stakes by The Age and The Melbourne Magazine

Central West is a single level sub regional shopping centre located 10km West of Melbourne’s CBD in the established inner city suburb of Braybrook. The centre is strategically located on the corner of Ashley Street and South Rd, enjoying exposure and accessibility to Footscray’s major arterials connecting to the suburbs of Tottenham, Altona, Yarraville and Maidstone. Echuca - Victoria - Places to go with kids
Echuca is a historical country town in Victoria well known for it's Paddle Steamers. The PS Pevensey, PS Canberra and PS Emmylou are some of the beautiful Paddle Steamers that roam up and down the mighty Murray River in Echuca. You can take the kids for a river cruise and experience what it was like when Paddle Steamers used to take passengers and cargo, such as wool, up and down the Murray River. You can prepurchase tickets online or buy them from Echuca on the day, depending on availability. There are lunch cruises, 1 - 2 hour cruises and even overnight cruises.
Walking through the Port of Echuca you can just imagine what it was like in the 1800's and on weekends and school holidays you might like to take the kids on a horse drawn carriage to really step back in time.

Ardeer is 15 km west of Melbourne CBD. It is part of the Brimbank City local government. It is a small suburb with a small population of 3,103 as of the 2016 census.
I went for a walk here on a beautiful but windy Saturday morning. It's a small and quiet suburb between Sunshine and Deer Park except that they have their own post office which is open 7 days a week. They also operate until late during the week. It is the only Australia Post branch that I know that operate these extended times. Definitely a plus.

West Footscray, Victoria, Australia

West Footscray is neighbour of Seddon and Yarraville (see separate videos for these two suburbs). It is also close to the city. There are good cafes, restaurants and shops in here. Many of them are on Barkly Street. You don't need to go to the bigger suburbs like Footscray and Yarraville. There are two cafes that I like here, West48 and Brother Nancy, both on Essex Street. Check them out.
I used to live here. So I know the are pretty well. I would live here again. The area is quiet and not as crazy as Footscray.
It's hard to tell where the boundary is between Footscray and West Footscray so this video may include portions that is actually part of Footscray and vice versa. For example, the KFC on Barkly Street should be technically part of Footscray but Barkly Street starts in West Footscray.
