Waterloo is a municipality in Wallonia, located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium, which in 2011 had a population of 29,706 . Waterloo lies a short distance south of Brussels, and immediately north-east of the larger town of Braine-l'Alleud, the site of the Battle of Waterloo, where the resurgent Napoleon was defeated for the final time in 1815. Waterloo lies immediately south of the official language border between Flanders and Wallonia.

Bouillon, Belgium
Driving around the back roads of Belgium, visiting only “off the beaten path towns”, we stumbled with Bouillon. Thinking the name was funny, not remembering my studies about the Crusades, I went on with a joke in my video, and not until I visited the castle, up above the town, I realized that this Bouillon, and Geoffrey de Bouillon were the same, the first king of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, after the siege and the taking of the holy city. Bouillon declined the title by saying that the real king of Jerusalem was Jesus.
Godfrey was a Frankish knight, Lord of this town, and headed the First Crusade from 1096, until the end of it, 1099, becoming the first king of that region, even though he declined the title for the “protector of Jerusalem”.
He died in Acre according to reports from the Arabs he was besieging, but other chroniclers place his death at Caesarea in June 1100 a.D. Later reports mention that he was poisoned by the emir of the same town.

The Lion statues can be seen near the town of Waterloo.
Below the Lion is the new museum.
The area around the Lion is the former battlefield and is protected heritage.
It still looks like 1815 except for a house or 2.

La Panne, une journée dans la réserve du Westhoek - Vlog voyage en Belgique 2
Pendant ce qui ressemble à un confinement mais qui n’en est officiellement pas un, nous n’avons plus le droit de voyager en dehors de la Belgique. Petit pays qui contient quelques pépites que nous avons décidé d’aller revisiter.
Aujourd’hui, c’est à La Panne que nous nous rendons pour une promenade dans le Westhoek, cette réserve naturelle à la frontière belgo-française.
Au rythme des paysages qui se suivent mais ne se ressemblent pas, nous avons passé une très belle journée dans la nature et (presque) loin de tout.
