Hello and greetings from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where in this travel guide we plan to highlight some of the top things to do for visitors! We recently spent a week road-tripping the island and what an adventure that was! This was our fourth summer exploring Nova Scotia, and this time around we focused on southern Cape Breton, specifically the area between St. Peter’s and Port Hastings. Here is our Cape Breton Travel Guide covering some fascinating things to do in Nova Scotia, Canada.
I think this is a really interesting area to visit because it is very accessible. Port Hastings is the first town you hit if you’re crossing via the Canso Causeway (the only land access point to the island!), so it’s a logical starting point, and it makes a lot of sense for travellers who want to see a bit of Cape Breton without having to drive too far.
We spent our week in southern Cape Breton doing an iconic sail from lake to sea, feasting on seafood at every meal, tackling different hiking trails, and enjoying the warm hospitality the island is known for.

Col de Turini (La Bollène-Vésubie), Road M70, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France - by motorcycle
There are three major ascents to the Col de Turini. The ascent, which begins on the M2565 road (Gorges de la Vésube) below La Bollène-Vésubie, is about 16 km long and passes through the village of La Bollène-Vésubie after a few switchbacks. The road is very well maintained and easy to follow. In some places there are remarkable views to the south.

Crestet is located between the river Ouveze and the Dentelles de Montmirail, not far from Vaison-la-Romaine. It is not like other well-known villages of Provence touristy and only to explore by foot.
Crestet se trouve entre la rivière de l'Ouvèze et les Dentelles de Montmirail, non loin de Vaison-la-Romaine. Il n’est pas comme d’autres villages réputés de Provence surpeuplés par les touristes. Il est seulement explorable à pied.

The Vésubie River rises east of the village of Saint-Martin-Vésubie and flows into the Var River after about 45 km. The Vésubie flows in a south-westerly direction. The lower half of the river course breaks through some limestone formations, forming the Gorges de la Vésubie. This gorge can be travelled along the M2565 road. There are some wide sections in the gorge, but also some very narrow ones, so that the road even has to continue through tunnels in these places. The road starts at a roundabout north of the village of Le Plan du Var and heads in a north-easterly direction. The road changes valley sides several times over bridges. The road is very well constructed and generally easy to drive on. The road is located in the department of Alpes-Maritimes / Maritime Alps and there in the province of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.

Navigating the Rhone River Locks, France
Very interesting to be on deck watching the boat go up and down with the locks waters.The process was fascinating. This is the Rhone River in France.
Col du Soulor - Col d'Aubisque, Balcony Road D918, Hautes Pyrénées, France - by motorcycle
Over a total distance of just over 45 km, the D918 road connects the towns of Argelès-Gazost in the east and Laruns in the west. The road thus starts in the Occitanie region in the Hautes Pyrénées département and reaches the 1474 meter high Col du Soulor after about 19 km. From here, the road connects the two passes Col du Soulor and Col d'Aubisque in the west. At first, the road drops a little, then rises again to Col d'Aubisque at 1709 meters. From here on, the road descends steadily until you first reach the ski resorts of Gourette and Eaux-Bonnes and then, after about 15 km, the village of Laruns. Laruns and the pass Col d'Aubisque are located in the department Pyrénées-Atlantiques and there in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The road is well maintained and overall easy to drive. The route was and is part of the Tour de France. Thus, the route also enjoys great popularity among recreational athletes to which one should pay particular attention. Due to the exposed location, a winter closure must be expected on the route between the two passes, which can extend well into the month of May.
