After making 1,100+ videos in 194 countries, this is one of my favorite videos thus far! Find out what $10 USD can get you in Venezuela!

In this epic adventure, I take you on the bustling streets of Caracas and through the beautiful beach towns of Morrocoy to see how many things I could purchase with $10 USD, which at the time I made this video, was 14.7 MILLION Venezuelan Bolivares... Right now, $10 USD is equal to 22 million Bolivares, it's absolutely crazy.

Despite Venezuela's economic crisis and massive hyperinflation, the cost of everyday items is getting more expensive, which makes it even harder for the local people to afford basic things like bread and water. It's really sad, and I hope the situation gets better because Venezuelans are some of the warmest and most hospitable people I've ever met. More to come soon from Venezuela!

Bolivia Tourism-Top 10 Tourist Attractions in Bolivia 2018

Bolivia Tourism-Top 10 Tourist Attractions in Bolivia 2018
One of the highest and most remote countries on earth, much of Bolivia remains untouched by the passage of time. Bolivia has more indigenous peoples than any other country in the Americas. For travelers, Bolivia offers a diverse mix of multi-ethnic cultural experiences, magnificent natural landscapes and extreme adventures. From luxury Copacabana resorts on the shore of Lake Titicaca to the unworldly expanse of the salt flats of Uyuni, the best tourist attractions in Bolivia offer a wealth of once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences.
1. Salar de Uyuni
For a truly out-of-this-world travel destination, it’s hard to match the Salar de Uyuni. One of the flattest places in the world, the 4,000-square-mile salt flats were formed by a prehistoric lake. Visitors travel in 4×4 vehicles across the expanse of the salt flats to visit locally fashioned structures made entirely from bricks of salt. The salt flats are at their most spectacular after a rain, when water sitting atop the cemented salt acts like a mirror, perfectly reflecting the sky above.
2. Tiwanaku
Located near the south-eastern shore of Lake Titicaca in Bolivia, Tiwanaku is one of the most important precursors to the Inca Empire. The community grew to urban proportions between the 7th and 9th centuries, becoming an important regional power in the southern Andes. At its peak the city had between 15,000–30,000 inhabitants. While only a small part has been excavated, Tiahuanaco represents the greatest megalithic architectural achievement of pre-Inca South America.
3. Lake Titicaca
Bordering Bolivia and Peru, Lake Titicaca is the largest lake in South America. Incans, as well as a number of other native peoples, are thought to have originated in the region. Near the south-eastern shore of the lake lies Tiwanaku, ruins of an ancient city state that scholars believe was a precursor of the Inca Empire. Lake Titicaca is a popular vacation destination. The original Copacabana is a favorite resort for both tourists and locals.
4.Madidi National Park
Madidi National Park stretches from the Andes to the Amazon. Encompassing over 7,000 square miles, Madidi is known as one the most biologically diverse parks in the world. Visitors to Madidi may spot an elusive jaguar, a giant otter or the titi monkey, a species of monkey found nowhere else in the world. More than 11 percent of the planet’s 9,000 species of birds can be found in Madidi National Park
5. Sucre
Known as the “City of Four Names”, Sucre is also called Charcas, La Plata and Chuquisaca. Founded in the 1500s by Spanish colonials, Sucre offers visitors a clear glimpse of life in aristocratic Spain in the 16th century. Sucre has many important historical buildings worth visiting, including La Casa de la Libertad, where Simón Bolívar wrote the Bolivian Constitution, and Bolivia’s National Library, which features documents dating to the 15th century.

Is Venezuela Ready for Visitors?

After years of crisis and isolation, Venezuela is reconnecting to the world. More airlines are opening routes, the US dollar is widely accepted and some locals say the worst is over. Is Venezuela ready to welcome international tourists? And: is it safe?
DW's Joel Dullroy visited Venezuela in January 2022. He went to some of the most touristic spots of the country: from the Isla de Margarita to the town of Mérida and the national park of Morrocoy.

Top 10 Tourist Destinations in Bolivia

10. Madidi National Park
More than 11 percent of the planet’s 9,000 species of birds can be found in Madidi National Park.

9. Jesuit Missions of Chiquitos
This region consists of six mission towns founded by a handful of Jesuit priests in the 17th and 18th centuries. While Jesuit Missions in Paraguay and Argentina have since fallen into disrepair, their Bolivian counterparts remain a vibrant cultural force, set against a frontier-town backdrop straight out of the 1986 Robert de Niro film, “The Mission”. These towns can be visited in one long tour, or there is lodging available in all of them.

8. Yungas Road
Dubbed the “World’s Most Dangerous Road” Yungas Road runs from La Paz to Bolivia’s Amazon rainforest region in the north of the country. From La Paz, the road climbs around 15,000 feet before descending around 4,000 feet to the town of Coroico. The road has proved dangerous for those traveling in vehicles, but Yungas has become a favorite travel attraction for mountain bikers who rave about the 40-mile-long stretch of downhill riding.

7. Reserva Eduardo Avaroa
The Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve in the harsh Southwest Circuit region of Bolivia was created to protect the endangered vicuna and the llareta plant. The reserve is also home to some of the planet’s most unusual landscapes. Bright white salt flats and the rainbow-colored mineral lakes of Los Lipez are both much too harsh to support human life but are a refuge for many rare and endangered South American species including several large colonies of flamingo. A trip here feels much like a trip to a strange and beautiful new planet.

6. Cerro Rico, Potosi
The “rich mountain” or “Cerro Rico” that towers over the city of Potosí once held the silver that lured Spanish Conquistadors to the world’s highest city. Cerro Rico is the ideal travel destination for those who want to explore the affect that colonization had upon the indigenous people of Bolivia. Although the silver is long gone, tin is still mined from Cerro Rico. Visitors may tour the mines as well as the Casa Nacional de Moneda, a museum that once housed the royal mint.

4. Oruro Carnival
Each year in Oruro, just before Ash Wednesday, the city of Oruro hosts the Carnaval de Oruro, one of the most important folkloric and cultural events in all of South America. The festival features over 28,000 dancers, performing a broad variety of ethnic dances. Around 10,000 musicians accompany the dancers. Unlike carnival in Rio where a new theme is chosen each year, carnival in Oruro always begins with the diablada or devil dance. It is considered to retain most of the artistic expression coming from pre-Columbian America.

Day trip to Bolivar Peninsula & Galveston, TX. Attractions & things to see in Bolivar & Galveston

On our 3rd day we took a day trip to Bolivar Peninsula and Galveston city in Southern Texas.

Bolivar Peninsula is a 27 mile stretch of coastal paradise rich in history. A sand between your toes kind of place that you can drive on and fish off of, enjoy the time here with the family and friends. It’s a laid back community of Crystal Beach, Gilchrist, High Island and Port Bolivar, with plenty to do and see.

Galveston is an island city on the Gulf Coast of Texas. It’s known for Moody Gardens, where giant glass pyramids house sharks, monkeys and other animals. Amusement rides and restaurants line Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier on the south shore. West is bird-rich Galveston Island State Park, with its trails, kayak launches and fishing spots. Stewart Beach and East Beach are on the island’s eastern end.

Simon Bolivar and His Lover Lived Like Gods in this House | Best Places to See in Bogota Colombia

Welcome back everyone and thanks for your patience! Today I take you to the actual house where a man named Simon Bolivar lived as we continue checking out some of the Best Places to See in Bogota, the capital of Colombia! Simon Bolivar is known to EVERY person who grows up in South America as the Liberator of Latin America, but is virtually unknown to most Americans and Europeans because we just don't learn that much about Latin American history in schools. But he was REALLY REALLY important. Basically the George Washington figure of South America!

I got a chance while in Bogota to take a special guided tour of his house, or we should say mansion because that's what it was at the time. I learned about the lover that he lived here with and all about HOW he lived and what is was like to be a god as he sometimes referred to himself, in the 1800s in Venezuela, Colombia and all of the surrounding countries (Panama wasn't invented yet as a country, it was still a part of Colombia.

Join along and let's see how this LIBERATOR, HERO, GOD or as some say traitor or villain lived and what he was all about!

Bolivar, Missouri

Join along on a visit to Bolivar, Missouri!

A historic marker in town reads..

POLK COUNTY

In central southwest Missouri, where the Western Prairie Region and the Ozark Plateau meet, Polk County was organized 1835, and named for Congressman, later U.S. President James K. Polk. The county lies in the 1808 Osage Indian land cession and was roamed by Delaware and other tribes into period of settlement by Southern pioneers in the 1830’s. An Indian flint quarry site and a number of mounds remain in the county.

Bolivar, the county seat, was laid out by William Jamieson, 1835. Largest town in U.S. named for South American liberator, it has been presented with handsome equestrian statue and two portraits of Simon Bolivar by Venezuelan Government. The statue is in Neuhart Park. Also in town is Dunnegan Memorial Park. Since 1879, Bolivar has been home of Southwest Baptist (Junior) College.

The Butterfield Overland Mail route ran through the county, 1858-61, and Bolivar was a meal and relay stop. Another relay station was near Brighton and the stage stopped in Brighton for a time when the telegraph reached there, 1859. The Frisco R. R. was built through the county in 1884.

In Polk County, grain, livestock, poultry, and dairy area, are the Pomme deTerre (Potato) River, named by French trappers, and the Sac River named for Sac Indians of north Mo. In 1957, a dam was begun on the Pomme de Terre in adjacent Hickory County to form a flood control reservoir.

Humansville, the county’s second town, was settled by James Human, 1834, who located near Paxton Spring, which has a measured flow of 445,000 gals. daily. In War Between the States, skirmishes occurred there Mar., 1862 and Oct., 1863. The county, divided in loyalty, was raided by guerrilla bands and Bolivar was occupied by troops of one side or the other during most of the war.

Morrisville, laid out in 1870, was home of Morrisville (Scarritt-Morrisville) Methodist College, opened in 1872. Other early schools were Polk Academy in 1840 and Dunnegan Springs Academy in 1895. Playwright, poet Zoe Akins was born in Humansville. Other noted Polk Countians include Clyde E. Tuck, poet; William H. Hamby, writer; Marion C. Early, writer, lawyer. Charles U. Becker, writer, Mo. Secretary of State, 1821-34, lived in Wishart.
