Foram 5000kms de travessia pelo Amazonas, 45 dias, 6 barcos, 5000 galinhas, muito calor, muita chuva, paisagens de tirar o folego e dias que ficarão pra sempre na nossa memória.
Nos 45 dias de travessia pelo Amazonas, registramos todas as emoções dessa viagem que transformou nossa vida para sempre. O documentário está em Português e Espanhol para que todos nossos amigos vizinhos possam assistir também.
Vivendo na estrada desde dezembro de 2016, depois de viajar por 10 países da América do Sul era hora de voltar para o Brasil. Estávamos na Colômbia e tínhamos que decidir como voltaríamos pra casa. A Venezuela não era uma opção, pois em julho de 2019, a situação no país estava bastante complicada.
Assim que decidimos voltar todos embarcados, inclusive a kombi, pelo maior rio do mundo, na maior floresta do mundo, o Rio Amazonas. Começamos nossa aventura no Amazonas peruano, na cidade de Yurimaguas, onde pegamos a primeira balsa, e terminamos em Belém – PA.

Viviendo en ruta desde Diciembre de 2016, después de viajar por 10 países de América del Sur, ya era hora de volver para Brasil. Estábamos en Colombia y teníamos que decidir como volveríamos a casa.
La opción de Venezuela no era la más adecuada, ya que en Julio de 2019, la situación política del país estaba bastante complicada. Decidimos volver todos embarcados, kombi incluída, a través del rio y floresta más grandes del mundo, por la Amazonía.
Empezamos la aventura por el Amazonas Peruana, en la ciudad de Yurimaguas y continuaríamos navegando por 5000 kms hasta la ciudad de Belem, en el estado de Pará, en la costa Atlántica brasilera.

Ep. 84: Our exploration of the amazing state of Florida continues today with a stop at a state park - known for its incredible native wildlife and its famous resident, Lu the Hippo.
ELLIE SCHILLER HOMOSASSA SPRING WILDLIFE STATE PARK: Homosassa Springs has been a tourist attraction since the early 1900’s when people would arrive by train to the springs. Later, in the 1960s, animal exhibits were added. Several of the animals were film and television stars who resided at the springs when they weren’t performing.
The park is one of the best places in Florida to view manatees. An astounding number of fresh and saltwater fish, along with the manatees, congregate in the natural spring. There is also an underwater observatory, the Fish Bowl, which provides a unique view of manatees and fish beneath the surface of the water!
Homosassa is home to two manatees, Ariel and Betsy, that are unable to survive in the wild. Occasionally there are also other manatees that need temporary rehabilitation, who join the ladies in their protected paddock area. They are cared for and fed several varieties of lettuce by park rangers four times daily. This was a unique opportunity to see some of these amazing creatures really close up!
The park is also home to the hippopotamus Lu, famously known for his performances in many movies over the past 40 years. Lu is the only resident here that is a non-native. When the State took ownership of the land, locals petitioned for Lu to stay and the Governor declared him an honorary citizen. He is the oldest hippo in captivity!
All of the permanent native wildlife here at the park are here because they are unable to survive in the wild on their own. They serve as ambassadors so visitors can experience an up-close encounter and appreciation for conserving Florida’s amazing wildlife.

YULEE SUGAR MILL RUINS HISTORIC STATE PARK: This site was once part of a thriving 5,100-acre sugar, cotton, and citrus plantation with approximately one thousand enslaved African Americans. The ruins you see are what remain of a steam-driven mill that operated from 1851 to 1864 and served as a supplier of sugar products for Southern troops during the Civil War until it was largely destroyed. What remains is a reminder of our country’s complicated history with slavery and a country in turmoil during such a monumental war.
