Binalonan is located in the eastern part of the province of Pangasinan. The municipality of Binalonan is bordered on the north by the municipalities of Pozorrubio and Sison, on the south by Urdaneta, on the east by San Manuel and Asingan and on the west by Laoac.
Binalonan town’s name is an evolution of the Ilocano term “balon”, which means “packed lunch”, or in Tagalog, baon.
In a traditional story, which now plays an important role in the Binalonan's history, the area was originally owned by a Spaniard named Don Salvador. It was told that he instructed his men to put up crude wooden fences along the property to establish his ownership. During the course of their work, Don Salvador’s men used to have their lunch and rest under camachile trees. Don Salvador offered his pasture lands to immigrants from Ilocos. He said that the land is the place where people bring their “balon” to eat. Hence, the term Binalonan, which in Ilocano mean “a place where people bring and eat their “baon”.

8. DICASALARIN COVE DICA & LIGHTHOUSE = The DICASALARIN COVE is a secret beach located beside the DICASALARIN BEACH. Visitors who want to see the entirety of the cove can go up the hill where a lighthouse can be accessed as well.
9. DIGISIT FALL = Pretty accessible. Tourists visit love visiting this place just near the main road. It’s a pretty short trek which makes it all the greater to include in your itinerary.
10. DIGUISIT BEACH, ROCK FORMATIONS & ANIAO ISLET = One of the famous surf spots in Baler. One of the most exquisite locations in Pangasinan is the Binalonan Park and Plaza.
As you step into the park, you'll immediately be captivated by the grandeur of the towering trees that adorn the property. Even amidst the ongoing pandemic, the Binalonan plaza remains impeccably maintained, exceptionally clean, and undeniably beautiful.
In the background, the melodies of birds singing serenade you, creating a serene atmosphere that is often absent in many urban areas. Such breathtaking sights and harmonious sounds are a rarity to experience in most cities and towns on any given day.
Our visit to the park also surprised us with the abundance of vibrant Koi fish in the man-made lagoon. The school of fish thrived in this well-designed environment, evident from their healthy sizes and vibrant appearances. It was a delightful sight to behold! ????
The park provides a tranquil and rejuvenating haven for travelers, walkers, and bikers alike. It is also an ideal spot for leisurely activities such as reading newspapers, books, or even the Bible.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that in 1968, Binalonan was honored with the title of The Most Beautiful and Cleanest Town in the Philippines. Truly amazing!
This place is undeniably marvelous! Hopefully, once the pandemic subsides, our children, teenagers, and esteemed senior citizens can once again enjoy walking, exercising, running, and playing in this remarkable piece of land affectionately known by locals as the Binalonan Rock Garden.
