मध्यप्रदेश के दतिया जिले में धूमावती माता का यह अपनी तरह का ही अनोखा मन्दिर है। यहां सबसे विशेष बात ये है किमां धूमावती को नमकीन पकवान, जैसे- मंगोडे, पकौड़ी, कचौड़ी व समोसे आदि का भोग लगाया जाता है। जिनकी दुकानें मंदिर के आसपास ही हैं और लोग प्रसाद के लिए इन चीजों को खरीददते हैं। बाद में भक्तों को इन्ही का प्रसाद बांटा जाता है। सीतापुर यूपी व नेपाल में भी मां धूमावती के दर्शन होते हैं।
माना जाता है कि पीताम्बरा पीठ की स्थापना एक संत, जिन्हें स्वामीजी महाराज कहा जाता था, ने की थी। स्थानीय किंवदंती के अनुसार पीठ के परिसर में माँ धूमावती की स्थापना न करने के लिए अनेक विद्वानों ने स्वामीजी महाराज से आग्रह किया था। तब स्वामी जी ने कहा कि- मां का भयंकर रूप तो दुष्टों के लिए है, भक्तों के प्रति ये अति दयालु हैं।
10 महाविधाओं में उग्र मां धूमावती का स्वरूप विधवा का है और कौआ उनका वाहन है। माता श्वेत मलिन वस्त्र धारण करती हैं और उनके केश खुले हुए हैं। शनिवार को काले कपड़े में काले तिल माता को भेंट किये जाते हैं। धूमावती साधना तांत्रिक बाधाओं की काट मानी जाती है।

Bhuma Niketan, Haridwar
Bhuma Niketan Temple is one of many landmarks to discover in the holy city of Haridwar. This sacred Hindu shrine is located on the Saptsarovar Marg. One can see the lifelike figurines of several Hindu gods and goddesses here. The sculpture of Lord Shiva and Parvati at the entrance of the temple is a sight to behold.
The Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu is surrounded by colorful fountains.
The temple was founded by Swami Shri Bhumananda Tirth Ji and runs on the ideologies of Shri Adi Shankaracharya.
Also known as the Bhuma Niketan Ashram, the temple is both a shrine and a shelter home to many. The main attraction of this place is the statue of Mahadev carrying the charred body of Sati in his hands. The ashram is a charitable trust and offers free services such as free food and shelter to the needy. The trust offers free accommodation to the travelers, conducts mass marriages of girls belonging to poor families and enabling the widows to become self-independent.
