Driving in Germany: Bundesstraße B27 from Ludwigsburg to Besigheim
In this video you can drive along on the Bundesstraße B27 from Ludwigsburg to Besigheim. Ludwigsburg is a larger satellite city North of Stuttgart with about a 100.000 inhabitants.
The B27 is the longest Bundesstraße in Germany and especially this part is quite scenic as it takes drivers along the Neckar river through some narrow valleys. Surrounded by vineyards, this drive is especially beautiful in summertime.
Besigheim is a smaller historical town with a beautiful and intact center. It's popular with tourists because of the many Fachwerkhäuser.

It comes from Erwin von Bälz, who was born in Bietigheim-Bissingen in 1849.
He went to Tokyo Imperial University as a professor, and as a doctor-in-waiting for the emperor, he discovered sulfur-containing hot springs as a therapeutic method and made this town famous as a hot spring resort.
I was moved to learn about the relationship between Japan and Germany in an unexpected way.

Driving in Germany: Bundesstraße B27 from Besigheim to Heilbronn - Neckar River Valley Scenic Drive
In this video you can drive along on the Bundesstraße B27 from the historical town of Besigheim to the city of Heilbronn. This part of the B27 is quite scenic as in part it follows the Neckar river through a narrow valley enclosed by steep cliffs decorated with vineyards.
Along the route are some scenic towns and cities worth visiting, including Lauffen am Neckar. Besigheim is also known for its historical old town and the traditional German 'Fachwerk' buildings and houses.
The B27 is one of Germany's longest federal routes (Bundesstraßen), running from the border with Switzerland in the South of Baden-Württemberg all the way to the Harz mountains in Saxony-Anhalt. The total length is about 673 kilometers.

Besigheim | Travel Tipps | Reiseführer Deutsch
Besigheim ist eine Stadt am Neckar in Baden-Württemberg.
Die Altstadt von Besigheim liegt auf einem langgestreckten Hügel, der im Westen von der Enz, im Osten vom Neckar umflossen wird. Im Norden des Hügels befindet sich die Mündung der Enz in den Neckar.
Der Ort wurde 1153 erstmals in einer Schenkungsurkunde erwähnt, als er vom Stauferkönig Barbarossa an einen badischen Markgrafen geschenkt wurde. Besigheim wechselte in Folge mehrere Male den Besitzer, bis es 1595 endgültig württembergischer Besitz wurde.
Zu Besigheim gehört seit 1971 die ehemals selbstständige Gemeinde Ottmarsheim.
Besigheim pflegt insgesamt drei Städtepartnerschaften in Europa:
* Mit Ay aus der Region Champagne-Ardenne in Frankreich. Diese Partnerschaft besteht seit 1966. Ay liegt in der Nähe von Epernay, nordöstlich von Paris.

* Mit Bátaszék in Ungarn. Diese Partnerschaft besteht seit 1992. Bátaszék liegt etwa 180 km südlich von Budapest.
Seit 2005 ist Besigheim staatlich anerkannter Erholungsort. 2010 wählten die Fernsehzuschauer des MDR Besigheim zum schönsten Weinort in Deutschland, und im Jahr 2013 wurde das Winzerfest in einem Wettbewerb der WELT am SONNTAG zum Weinfest 2013 gewählt.
