I have ranked the best beaches in the south of Sri Lanka to be 5.Tangalle 4.Bentota 3.Hikkaduwa 2.Unawatuna and 1.Marissa.
Like I say in the video although l am counting down to my favourite beach, my least favourite & favourite is only marginally apart.
I also mention Dalawella beach, jungle beach, whale watching & turtle rescues centre. Each of these beaches have something unique about them that make them all worth visiting.

Beautiful Bentota | Travel Guide | Unknown popular places in Sri Lanka
** Distance & route to location **
Bentota is one of the coastal town in Sri Lanka which is famous for Tourist entertainments, attractions, beach amenities and its family orientated hotels. It is approx 65 km south to Colombo and 56 km north to Galle.
Bentota is located on southern railway connecting Wellawaya and A2 Highway connecting Matara. Access possible from the Southern expressway Welipanna exit and only 10 km from the exit.
** What to see and do in Destination **
The Galapatha Raja Maha Viharaya is the one cluter of five ancient temples in the region. Portuguese build small fort on mouth of Bentota river in 17th century, Bentota beach which is we visit, Kosgoda turtle Hatchery, Brief gardern by Geoffrey and Bevis Bawa, Mangrove forest in bentota river ride, List of Beaches plus boutique hotels some other attractions surrond the area.

Day 01 | My solo trip to Sri lanka | Bentota - with English subs
Hello everyone, this vlog is the starting of my new Sri Lankan series. In this vlog i begin my journey from a coastal city in Sri Lanka called Bentota. I have given the information about where i stayed for 2 nights in the video. I took a tuktuk on rent for a full day and explored the city including Brief Garden by Bevis Bawa , Kande Vihara and Induruwa Sea Turtle Conservation Project.
Below are the details of the attractions :-
*Brief Garden by Bevis Bawa - this beautiful garden is designed by Bevis Bawa. It has many themes like french, Italian, Chinese and Japanese.
*Kande Vihara - This temple is named Kande Vihara as it's on the top of a hill. It is a Buddhist temple which is considered one of the tallest sitting Buddha statues in the world.
*Induruwa Sea Turtle Conservation - I saw various species of turtles here and saw how they are making conservation efforts for these sea turtles. This is totally dependent on tourists and the entrance fee paid by them.
Bentota is famous for its beach and surfing , in case you don't know how to surf, it is a perfect destination to learn that. But unfortunately i couldn't make it to this beach, as i thought to visit it in the evening but after my day excursion it was raining.
I met few people in my accommodation and joined them for the dinner. The music in there was too loud so i decided to end my vlog there. i hope you will like this new video of my Sri Lanka series.
