The 10 BEST State Parks in America for RVing
On today's episode we take you around the country with us to explore the top 10 BEST State Parks in America for RVing. We visited 40 states and traveled more than 16,000 miles with our RV in 2018. During that time we stayed at more than 100 places ranging from RV resorts to Walmart parking lots and everything in between. Almost every single state park we camped in was incredible, so we challenged ourselves to pick our ten favorite. We even have a bonus entry at the end of our list - a National Park that we were able to fit our 37' rig into!

Belle Fourche - South Dakota
In this episode of Cheap Family Travel ( Nick Regan, Maggie, and Kate made a stop in Belle Fourche to stand in the center of the US. Belle Fourche South Dakota is the geographical center of the United States and home to the Black Hills Round-Up. The city of Belle Fourche established the tri-state museum that features antiques and memorabilia from a by-gone era. Adjacent to the museum is a park, including picnic tables, a large grass area, flags from all 50 states, and a monument marking the center of the United States. Belle Fourche is located in northern South Dakota in the Black Hills, just north of Spearfish Canyon. Cheap Family Travel enjoyed a nice picnic lunch and visiting this uniquely special place.
Epic Road Trip - Day 26 - Devils Tower, Belle Fourche SD the center of the USA, Spearfish Canyon, SD
We left Buffalo, WY and headed towards our night stop in Spearfish, SD. We stopped at Devil's Tower and walked the 2.5 mile trail around the base of the tower. This place was a great National Park site and the visitor's center was very informative. We loved it here! It was nice to see all of the nature in the area while on the hike. We also stopped at Belle Fourche, SD to see the Geographic Center of the USA. Good place to stop for a bit. Please SUBSCRIBE and enjoy the video!

Devils Tower National Monument Belle Fourche Campground in Devils Tower Wyoming provides primitive tent and RV camping adjacent to the famous landmark and within the grounds of the National Monument. Seasonally open the campsites are all on a first come first served basis. A scenic camping area with paved roads, gravel sites and grass tree surrounds each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Multiple restrooms are located throughout the area with running water and flush toilets (no showers). Each site is a pull thru site with plenty of room for even large RVs. There is decent separation between sites but no privacy.
The campground is immediately adjacent to a Prairie Dog Town with trails that get you close and cross through their habit. Bordered on two sides by the Belle Fouche River the campground is situated on a flat plan with large cottonwood trees. Belle Fourche Campground IS NOT near the visitor center complex (located on the opposite side of Devils Tower) but trails are available to hike there, a really good and hard hike.
During the peak summer season the campground fills often by about 3PM. Camphosts are located on site to aid and provide information. About 1 mile away just outside the entrance kiosk are private campgrounds and businesses providing food, supplies and showers.

Number 10. Brooklyn's Ausable Chasm.
Western New York's Ausable Chasm is a true beauty. This location is around 5 hours to the northwest of New York City, which tends to monopolize all of New York's glory. As a day excursion, it could be a little challenging, but as you start exploring the hiking paths, you'll see why it's so unique.
This canyon was a naturally formed river from a waterfall, and it located on the other side of Lake Champlain. basically a little Niagara Falls
Three separate trails tubing, rock climbing, rappelling, and even lantern trails can be found inside the abyss!
In the main building, it is simple to reserve tours. Even the bungalows back by the door are available for accommodation. You can view the gorge from all sides and this elevates camping to a whole new level!
Number 9. Florida island of Anna Maria.
Anna Maria Island is the place to go if you enjoy living vicariously through romance novels or reality television shows set in coastal towns.
It is essentially a little village that is situated on an island roughly 45 minutes to the east of Tampa and 30 minutes to the south of Sarasota. The beaches resemble those on a Caribbean island.
White sand and turquoise green blue water make up the beach. Manatees frequently swim close to you and bump into you in certain places!
