The continental territory is bordered on the north by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, on the west by Colombia, Brazil on the south, Trinidad and Tobago to the north-east and on the east by Guyana. The Venezuelan government maintains a claim against Guyana to Guayana Esequiba. Venezuela is among the most urbanized countries in Latin America; the vast majority of Venezuelans live in the cities of the north and in the capital. Iglesia San José / Barquisimeto, Venezuela

IGLESIA SAN JOSÉ / BARQUISIMETO, VENEZUELA.

Otro patrimonio, hito histórico de la ciudad de Barquisimeto, la construcción de este templo data de 1925 a cargo de José de la Paz Monoles, con planos del ingeniero Insausti, a lo largo del tiempo ha sufrido diversas transformaciones. Su estructura original era de ladrillo cocido; las arcadas que dividen las tres naves del templo fueron reconstruidas con columnas de orden jónico; las bóvedas de cañón fueron sustituidas por un techo metálico con vitrales.

Está ubicado en la calle 25 entre carreras 21 y 22. Sobresalen sus dos torres campanarios, el frontispicio, su fachada de estilo neobarroco con sus tres puertas de ebanistería y su riqueza ornamental; su cúpula y sus altares con arcos de medio punto. Esta iglesia cuenta con una hermosa edificación anexa muy bien conservada en la que se resguarda mobiliario y pinturas antiguas.
