I went to Provins for the first time in November 2016, a charming medieval town with a rich history and culture. Located not far from Paris on the road leading to Troyes and Dijon. It was well known during the Middle Ages as the main trade center of Champaign County, hosting one of the largest markets at that time. An extremely interesting city that has preserved intact the old medieval village with its impressive town walls, the magnificent Saint-Quiriace Collegiate Church, Caesar's Tower and many houses built since the 12th century. The medieval city was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001.
Provins is a place that everyone should visit. It is a stunning, beautiful medieval town and one of the most impressive examples of civil, religious and public medieval architecture. No need to say that Provins is my favourite village in France.

19:26 Tithe Barn (12th century) - Prior to 1176 this building belonged to the chapter of Saint Quiriace and was rented out to merchants visiting the Foires de Champagne (regional fairs). It provided commercial premises and a place of accomodation. It is known that a group of Toulouse merchants rented the building in 1223. From the 15th century the barn was used for storing tithe.
