The Staffelberg is a hill in Bavaria, Germany. It is part of the Franconian Switzerland and one of the most important landmarks in Franconia.
Hiking at Staffelberg was our second activity of the same day. First we went to the Schierfer park, it is really very beautiful place to visit in Thuringen.

„Das macht nach Adam Riese ...“ – diese Redewendung hat wahrscheinlich jeder von euch schon einmal benutzt, doch kaum einer weiß, dass der Rechenmeister in Bad Staffelstein geboren wurde. Dass es in Bad Staffelstein die wärmste und stärkste Sole Nordbayerns gibt, ist dank der Obermain Therme vielen bekannt. Aber dass die Kurstadt, mit circa zehn Brauereien auf 10.000 Einwohnern, auch die Stadt mit den meisten Brauereien pro Einwohner ist, scheint immer noch ein kleines Geheimnis zu sein. Und von denen gibt es einige zu entdecken im idyllischen Kleinod. Ich nehme euch mit auf einen Ausflug nach Bad Staffelstein, zu dem bekannten Dreigestirn Wallfahrtsbasilika Vierzehnheiligen, Kloster Banz und dem Staffelberg und den vielen versteckten Ecken der Umgebung.

This route was awarded as 3rd best beautiful hiking route in 2016. It is about 10 km long and maximum elevation is about 300m.

Visiting the Basilica VIERZEHNHEILIGEN at the Gods Garden next to Lichtenfels and Bamberg
Welcome back. Long time in the past I´ve heard about the pilgrimage church or Basilica “Vierzehnheiligen” Also it was on my list to make a review about the region Gods Garden at the north part of Bavaria between the two towns Bamberg and Lichtenfels. This what I found there was a more as a surprise. Watch my video and find out more what is like to visit a pilgrimage church and in a region which is to ever time in the year nice for a trip.
The tour through the Basilica:
I went by car on a sunny day in the region Gods Garden to the Basilica Vierzehnheiligen. After parking my car, I went up the short way to the Basilica area. A lot of tourists where also here but I could enjoy the tour for myself. The main hall of the church was like churches at the south part of Bavaria a typical catholic Basilica with many golds a large organ over the rows. At the middle part was a big construction like a monument. I was very surprised that it’s happen a Basilica with so many gold and holy figures are here at the north part of Bavaria. The view was also amazing. The sight was wide that I could see the fortress of Coburg with name the “Veste Coburg” and behind the forest of Thuringia. I spent a while at the area around the Basilica and returned back to my car.
On my way back to my car I heard laud sung and saw that many people came back from the Basilica along the street. This was a classic pilgrimage of Bavaria. I took my camera and caught the pilgrimage on its way. The people from the pilgrimage tour were a mix of old and young people. For the end I thought what the Basilica with no pilgrimage tour can.

The Basilica Vierzehnheiligen is a kind of Monastery and Church in rococo style, located at the north part of Bavaria and the district lower Franconia.
The region has the name Gods Garden because the Basilica builds together with the Monastery Banz, the small town Bad Staffelstein and the mountain Staffelberg a region of a special feeling.
A trip to the Basilica Vierzehnheiligen is nice. You can park your car at a large parking store and can walk by food nearly 500 meters up to the place in front of the building. Also, an opportunity to use a bus shuttle service, FREE to come directly to the entrance of the church. For eating and spending time it's happen an own brewery which produce an own monastery beer and in front of the building two restaurants where the tourists can find all which have to with the Bavarian food.
