Philippines STRANGEST food! ETAG in Sagada | Travel Philippines Vlog

I'm a huge fan of Filipino food. Street food in the Philippines is some of my favourite because a lot of it is so different interesting, and tasty.
As a foreigner in the Philippines...Why go to a Filipino restaurant when you can get delicious Pinoy street food, and be eating Balut, Isaw, and other strange foods? Manila especially is great for this!

Just a few days before getting my Kalinga Tattoo from Whang Od in Buscalan we visited an Igorot village elder to get his permission to visit his ancestors at a hanging coffin site in Sagada. He was smoking a very important type of Igorot food called Etag. Etag is used in ceremonies in this part of the Philippines, I was interested in trying it because the traditional way of preserving it, invited maggots, beatles and all other sorts of insects into the process.

I'm so happy I was able to spend such quality time with Lakay Wa-Ow, try on his ceremonial necklace, and also buy his Etag.

I'm excited to share the second part at Amir's Birthday Party. Stay tuned!

Inspired by the Best ever food review show and their various interesting Filipino travel vlogs about foods like Catching and eating Wild Tamilok in Palawan.... Is this Philippines Strangest or Scariest Food?

Where are my Filipino and Filipina subscribers at!? Would you try this?

Paguriran Island, Sawanga, Bacon, Sorsogon ft. Lebanon Beach in Pto. Diaz

Here's my personal review of our location this week.

For commuters and drivers:

**point of origin** - Gubat, Sorsogon

Gubat to Prieto Diaz jeepney ride - 30 to 45 mins - 40php fare
Prieto Diaz to Paguriran Island - 15 to 20 mins - tricycle fare 200 to 300 max

Entrance Fee - 50 per person
Parking fee ranges from 20 to 100 php for motorcycles and cars
Cottage - 150 to 300

Overall Jess' Travels rating 8/10

- an ideal place for family outings and get together with friends as there are no restrictions in terms of number of guests per cottage. Fit all you can! The place reminds me of islands in Palawan. The only downside is that the cottage areas are too near the sea, which means lesser shoreline for guests to enjoy. Other than this, some areas seem neglected with some garbage here and there. Due to fit all you can policy and the proximity of cottages between one another, the place is usually crowded during the peak season.

Overall, still gets a high rating as it is a very accessible place to enjoy for the young at hearts and adventurous souls. An 8/10 location for now as I have seen better tourist spots around the country. Its accessibility and affordability also offers a much needed relief for the budget travelers.

Aerial View of Paguriran Island Beach & Lagoon - Bacon Sorsogon

Paguriran Island/Beach/Lagoon - a beautiful island with pinkish white sand, and clear water lagoon located in Brgy. Sawanga boundary of Bacon and Prieto Diaz Sorsogon.

One of the prides of Sorsoganon, you might as well visit the Tolong Gapo beach (3 Stones) in Brgy. Caricaran the same town (Bacon), don't miss to continue the journey to Prieto Diaz to witness several other beaches and sand bars (during low tide), and then surf in Rizal Beach Gubat, Sorsogon, experience sunset in Sabang beach Bulan, dive in the crystal clear water of Masacrot Spring Resort, Bulusan lake in Bulusan Sorsogon, hot springs in San Binon and Mapaso in Irosin Sorsogon. Discover hidden paradise in Sta. Magdalena and Matnog Sorsogon (particularly the white sand Subic beach), and countless waterfalls in Casiguran, Juban, Bulan and the rest of Sorsogon Province. Truly Sorsogon is not behind in terms of natural beauty and nature's riches in my list after traveling many places in The Philippines.

The above itinerary can be done 1-2 days.
