Negros Occidental is a province in the Philippines located in the Western Visayas region. Its capital is the city of Bacolod. NEGROS ESCAPADE: A TRIP TO THE CITY OF SMILES, BACOLOD! EXPLORING THE RUINS, LAKAWON AND FOREST CAMP
First stop of the trip is at The Ruins Mansion, situated at Talisay City, Negros Occidental. An Italianate mansion built in early 1900s, razed during World War II, with a restaurant & landscaped gardens.
We stayed overnight at Lakawon, an island off the coast of Cadiz. A perfect place for a camping vacay away from the city. Island also offers boat transfers, hotel accommodation, and water activities.
7-hours away from Bacolod City is a premiere nature resort in Valencia, Negros Oriental! The Forest Camp Nature Resort is 2.5 Hectares of nature at its best, a valley under a canopy of tropical, indigenous forest trees. It has a river passing through its landscape with 9 cold spring swimming pools designed to appear like natural lagoons formed by the river.

Lakawon Island is an emerging summer destination in Cadiz, Negros Occidental that prides on its powdery white sand and pristine blue waters. You can also find the largest floating bar in Asia there! If you're looking for a summer destination or a beach paradise within Western Visayas aside from Boracay, I could definitely recommend this place! :) It's relatively cheaper than Boracay, too! ;)

Project PINAS Ep. 8 | Backpacking Bacolod (Super DIY Itinerary) ➡️ Boat from Guimaras ????
Project Pinas Episode 8: From Guimaras, we ride a boat back to Iloilo Port, and then we ride a 2-hour fastcraft boat to Bacolod Port. Then immediately in the afternoon, we went outside to finally eat the famous Bacolod Chicken Inasal and went to Felicia's after for the dessert.
We also did a Super Negros Occidental DIY Tour and visited Graceland Resort since Mambukal Resort was closed due to typhoon and went to The Ruins after via local transportation.
We also did a lot of walking around downtown Bacolod, visited Negros Museum, bought some pasalubongs at Virgie's and Margie's, and hang out at Bacolod Plaza and Capitol Lagoon.
Then finally, we went to a Silay Heritage Walking Tour at Silay City, just 10 minutes away from Bacolod City. We visited 2 museums there, Balay Negrense and Hofileña Museum, and met some amazing locals, Sir Renee and Gerald.
After that, we hopped to our next destination which was Cebu via roro and bus. Subscribe to follow our journey!
