Rambha is south most point of Chilika lake with all tourist facilities. The main place for tourist is tourist resort Panthanivas of OTDC. There are 4 AC double bed rooms, 8 non AC double bed rooms. In addition to this there are 6 AC cottages. 10 beds dormitory is available.Tourist resort Panthanivas has 10 seater and 5 seater boats. You can hire them on hourly basis but it is almost fixed rate for visiting different spots.
Usually tourist goes for three spot sightseeing or all five islands sightseeing.

Rambha is one of the gateways to Chilka Lake. You can spend a few days in the lap of nature and enjoy the pristine beauty of Chilka surrounded by hills. You can also get the taste of virgin sea beach at Bateswar and also find architectural beauty of Oddisi temples in this region. Nearest railway station to reach Rambha is Balugaon. Chilka is rich in flora and fauna. It's rich in population of dolphins and a lot of migratory birds also. The must visit islands from Rambha on boat are - Breakfast Island, Ghantasila Island, Bird's Island or Dinosaur Island and Honeymoon Island.On way from Balugaon to Rambha, you can visit Dakhha Prajapati temple, Bhagabati Mata temple, Jagannath temple, Narayani temple and Nirmal Jhor temple. Bateswar sea beach and Bsteswar temple is not very far off from Rambha. Another entry point of Chilka is Barkul, which is 7km from Balugaon. From Barkul you can travel on boat over Chilka to Kalijayi island to visit Kali Temple there.

Boat journey in Rambha , Chilika ( Near Gopalpur ) - 1
Rambha is one and half hour journey from Gopalpur . It is actually a part of Chilika , Orissa . One can enjoy visiting islands by boat there. This room and tower on Chilika lake was built before independence - but I must admit that not all the tourists visiting that beautiful place now-a-days have ethnic sense.

Rambha and barkul are the two most famous tourist destinations beside chilika lake . Rambha is 50 k.m. from berhampur station and 22 k.m from Balugaon station. Barkul is 6 k.m from Balugaon. OTDC panthanivas is best hotel and only nearest hotel of rambha chilika. In Barkul there are many other options of staying and dining other than OTDC. There are many islands in chilika . Breakfast island, Birds island , Honeymoon island, kaljai kali mata temple , nalbana island, satapara dolphin point etc.

About Salia Dam :
Salia Dam is a very scenic and good picnic spot. Around 15 km from Banapur and about 25 km from Balugaon. The 10 km road just before this beautiful place was in the worst condition and we could not understand why the government is not minding making an all-weather road to such a nice tourist destination. The dense, green forest for about 10/12 km on both sides of the road makes one spellbound. It is a big water reservoir and very helpful for irrigation. Now they have locked the entrance to the front side road that overlooks the dam due to unknown reasons. Some concrete pandals (pindis) have been built at the side under the dense shade of the trees for the picnickers but most of them have been half broken due to lack of proper supervision. I Hope, if given proper attention by the government this could be one of the best Boating and scenic spots in Odisha.

In This video, I have visited a 13th century Shakti Pitha Known as Bhagabati Temple and 13th Century Shiva Temple Known as Daksha Prajapati Temple , also known as Dakshesvara Shiva Temple in Banapur town and is about 5 kms west of Balugaon, Khordha District on NH16. It is one of the best preserved heritage temple in Odisha and a fine specimen of extraordinary artistic excellence of Kalingan art. This Place is 99 kms from Bhubaneswar.
