Different video today, but wanted to share some highlights from my recent trip to Cuenca Azuay Ecuador! This peaceful, relaxing, calming, immersive, experiential place is the third largest city in southern Ecaudor's Andes mountains and a Unesco World Heritage site. Known for its Tomebamba River, its central plaza, Parque Calderón, is home to the blue-domed Catedral Nueva and the 16th-century Catedral Vieja, now a religious museum.
I think Cuenca is one of the best places in Ecuador and best places of South America and one of many underrated cities. It's a hidden paradise. Es limpia y tranquilo.
Let me show you around as I walk the streets of the historic el centro and the Museo Municipal de Arte Moderno through Busqueda Del Tesoro Cuenca, walk along Rio Tomebamba, one of four rivers which include Yanuncay, Machángara y Tarqui, and walk down la escalinata and la calle larga. Listen to cuencanos hablando, enjoy El Cajas Turismo at Parque Nacional El Cajas and see Llaviucu lake aka Zorrocucho lagoon and eat with us after at Hotel Dos Chorreras restaurant. Aprende la historia del puente rio roto. Explore Mega Parque Ictocruz. Come with us to Guapan outside of azogues where they make cemento and Novaqua in Banos, enjoy a meal at El Confesionario or Casa Del Parque.

Ecuador is affordable, and the lifestyle you can have on a typical Social Security check of $1,500 a month is very attractive. Budgets vary, and many live in Cuenca Ecuador on much less than $1,500 and others far exceed $1,500. We've met people living on under $1,000 while we've been here, so that is a possibility.

Azogues, también conocida como San Francisco de Peleusí de Azogues, es una ciudad ecuatoriana; cabecera cantonal del Cantón Azogues y capital de la Provincia de Cañar, así como la segunda urbe más grande y poblada de la misma. Se localiza al centro-sur de la Región interandina del Ecuador, en la hoya del río Paute, atravesada por el río Burgay, a una altitud de 2518 msnm y con un clima andino de 16°C en promedio.
Es llamada La Obrera del Sur por su ubicación geográfica. En el censo de 2010 tenía una población de 33.848 habitantes, lo que la convierte en la cuadragésima segunda ciudad más poblada del país. Forma parte de la área metropolitana de Cuenca, pues su actividad económica, social y comercial está fuertemente ligada a Cuenca, siendo ciudad dormitorio para miles de personas que se trasladan a aquella urbe por vía terrestre diariamente. El conglomerado alberga a 661.685 habitantes, y ocupa la tercera posición entre las conurbaciones del Ecuador.
Fue fundada el 4 de octubre de 1562, por Gil Ramírez Dávalos, y desde entonces, es una de las principales núcleos urbanos de la zona debido a su desarrollo y ubicación geográfica. Es uno de los más importantes centros administrativos, económicos, financieros y comerciales de la provincia. Las actividades principales de la ciudad son el comercio, la agricultura, la ganadería, y la educación.

Azogues, capital of the Cañar province, located in the south-central sierra region of Ecuador. With around 40.000 residents, it is a wonderful and breathtaking town. Azogues is situated at 2,518 meters above sea level, high in the Andes mountains and located at 30 km from Cuenca, Ecuador's third largest city . The city is mostly known for its Panama Hat industry. 40 km north of Azogues, you have the biggest and best preserved Inca ruins of Ecuador: Ingapirca. The most significant building is the Temple of the Sun, an elliptically shaped building constructed around a large rock.
