De Ardennen is misschien wel een van de mooiste gebieden van België. De uitgestrekte bossen, glooiende heuvels en kleine dorpjes maken het een ideaal gebied voor een dagje weg, een langweekend of zelf een paar weken heerlijk vakantie. Ieder seizoen kent hier zijn eigen charmes en attracties. Of het nu de warm gekleurde bossen zijn van de herfst, de besneeuwde hellingen in de winter, de ontluikende natuur in de lente of lekker genieten van de mooie zomers. De Ardennen heeft voor ieder wat te bieden.
Remouchamps is een plaats in de Belgische provincie Luik en een deelgemeente van Aywaille. Het plaatsje is vooral bekend door de grotten van Remouchamps en de heuvel La Redoute, en ligt aan de Amblève en de Ninglinspo .
Van Remouchamps gaan we naar de hoger gelegen bossen en gaan zo richting Aywaille, en langs de rivier de Amblève keren we terug naar de startplaats: totaal 11,5 km.
The Ardennes (Belgium) is perhaps one of the most beautiful areas in Belgium. Remouchamps is a place in the Belgian province of Liège and part of Aywaille. The town is best known for the caves of Remouchamps and the hill La Redoute, and is located on the Amblève and Ninglinspo. (rivers)
From Remouchamps we go to the higher forests and thus head towards Aywaille, and along the river the Amblève we return to the starting point: in total 11.5 km.

Grottes de Remouchamps - Best Place To Visit In Belgium
Grottes de Remouchamps or The Remouchamps Caves Located in Belgium is the longest Underground Boating in the World.The Caves are formed by two galleries visiting on foot and by boat. They are nicknamed the Wonders of Wonders & one of the most visited tourist places in Belgium.
The Remouchamps caves are on the boundary of 3 geological regions: The Condroz formed of limestone & sanstone, limestone Calestienne and The Schistose Ardenne.
The Remouchamps caves were formed in limestone more than a million years ago by the presence of an underground river named Rubicon
8,000 years ago, Paleolithic hunters came here frequently.Temperature inside the caves oscillates between 8 and 10 degrees. All Tours of the Remouchamps caves are guided in several languages. They last about 1 and a quarter hour.

Ninglinspo River Hike - A picturesque trail in Ardennes Belgium
A walk to remember, a walk to feel, a walk to breathe the fresh air and a walk to enjoy.
In the midst of nature's greatest creation felt like we keep on walking and indeed we took another trail in the forest and ended up walking 21 km that day and finally reached to Aywaille station by bus to head back towards Brussels.
This video indeed brings back all those memories. ????

Ninglinspo waterfalls at Aywaille
De Ninglinspo is een zijriviertje van de Amblève nabij het Luikse plaatsje Nonceveux
bij Remouchamps in de gemeente Aywaille en vormt de benedenloop van de (Ruisseau de) Hornay
die ten zuiden van het plaatsje Vert Buisson in de gemeente Theux ontspringt.
De Ninglinspo is de enige bergrivier van België.
Zij stroomt door een gebied dat sinds 1949 beschermd gebied is.
De loop van de Ninglinspo daalt van 420 meter naar 170 meter, is 3 kilometer lang en heeft hierdoor een gemiddeld verval van 8%.
Ze overbrugt een hoogteverschil van 250 meter. De grootste waterval in de rivier is de Waterval van de Chaudière,
ze mondt uit in de Amblève net nadat deze in de Fonds de Quarreux overgaat.
Door de erosie van het snelle en wervelende water ontstonden er enkele diepe, nauwe uithollingen die de bassins onderling verbinden.
Deze bassins kregen poëtische namen zoals bad van het hert, Bad van Diana, Bubbels van de ketel, Bad van de waternimfen, Bad van Venus,...
The Ninglinspo is a tributary of the Amblève near the Liège town of Nonceveux
near Remouchamps in the commune of Aywaille and forms the lower reaches of the (Ruisseau de) Hornay
which rises south of the town of Vert Buisson in the commune of Theux.
The Ninglinspo is Belgium's only mountain river.
It flows through an area that has been a protected area since 1949.
The course of the Ninglinspo drops from 420 meters to 170 meters, is 3 kilometers long and therefore has an average gradient of 8%.
She bridges a height difference of 250 meters. The largest waterfall in the river is the Chaudière waterfall,
it flows into the Amblève just after it turns into the Fonds de Quarreux.
The erosion of the fast and swirling water created several deep, narrow cavities connecting the basins.

We wandelen langs de Hoëgne, Linglinspo, Warchenne, Geitenberg in Aywille, Grot van Remouchamps, allemaal wandelroutes met lekker wat hoogtemeters om fit te blijven voor het echte werk. ( lees: Dolomieten)
Alles tussen de 200 en 575 hoogtemeters, en niet te ver rijden van Nederland.
We nemen onze zelfgebouwde Fiat buscamper Slowly 2.0 mee door de heuvels van België en naar mooie slaapplekjes.
Wandelschoenen aan , croissantjes mee en gaan !
I rode a boat inside a cave - Les Grottes de Remouchamps - Aywaille ???????? - August 2023
I did a short trip through Germany and Belgium starting from the Netherlands. My second stop was at Liège and from there I did a day trip to Aywaille, to visit Les Grottes de Remouchamps. They day was a bit rainy and humid in the morning, but then it got warm, humid and sunny.
On this video I’m going to show you the cave as I went through it.

The Caves of Remouchamps, a natural gem in the province of Liège, are famous for being home the longest underground river in the world.
The first part to the visit to the caves consist of 1 km stroll through a mysterious, fascinating landscape such as the first hall, which was inhabited by Palaeolithic hunters 8.000 years ago. It consists of corridors, the subterranean river Rubicon, the big hall of the Cathedral (40 metres high).
The second part is visited by boat, gliding the Rubicon subterranean river of almost 700 m in length. Here one will discover new things, including a natural water fountain that sprays under the subterranean roof, forming a magnificent curtain.
The caves were discovered in 1828, and before being a touristic attraction they served other purposes like a wine shelter and during WW2, as a shelter.

The Hotton Cave are located near Hotton, which is not far way from Durbuy or Roche-En-Ardennes right in the Ardennes in Belgium.
The movie is shot with a gopro in a very dark cave, so do not expect BBC-Style quality, sometime I added still images with a better exposure.
There are roughly 600 Steps to do and you will go down about 60m. At the end a lift is bringing you a part of the way up.

We hebben geboekt op camping Dieupart in Aywaille.
Wat een geweldige omgeving. Hier kun je perfect wandelen, fietsen, vissen of gewoon niets doen en ontspannen.
We zijn hier 4 dagen gebleven en in dit deel 1 van ons videoverslag laten we de camping zien en we gaan wandelen over de berg pal achter de camping. Wát een geweldige uitzichten en wat een mooi gebied.
