Aytré est une commune du Sud-Ouest de la France située dans le département de la Charente-Maritime (région Nouvelle-Aquitaine). Ses habitants sont appelés les Aytrésiens.
Aytré est bordée par l'océan Atlantique avec sa large baie et sa plage de plus de 2 km. Elle est d'abord et avant tout une cité industrielle avec sa grosse usine de fabrication de matériel ferroviaire (Alstom) et ses deux zones industrielles, c'est une commune résidentielle de la banlieue sud de La Rochelle. Grâce à sa situation de passage obligée et étant bien desservie par des voies de communication modernes, Aytré s'est beaucoup développée devenant de fait la deuxième ville de l'agglomération urbaine de La Rochelle et aussi la cinquième de Charente-Maritime.

Avec ses 3 kilomètres de plages de sable fin, son agréable front de mer, son Casino, sa jolie promenade bordant la plage et ses villas Belle Époque, la commune de Châtelaillon-Plage offre aux touristes une belle palette de loisirs et de découvertes.

L’île de Ré est une île française située dans le golfe de Gascogne, au large des côtes aunisiennes.
Faisant partie de l'archipel charentais, elle est la quatrième plus grande île de France métropolitaine, derrière la Corse, l'île d'Oléron et Belle-Île. Autrefois partie intégrante de la province d'Aunis, elle est désormais rattachée au département de la Charente-Maritime et à la région Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Depuis le mois de mars 2015, elle forme un unique canton : le canton de l'Île de Ré.
Le centre historique de l'île est Saint-Martin-de-Ré, qui forme avec la commune voisine de La Flotte l'unité urbaine de La Flotte d'une population de 5 302 habitants en 2013. La commune la plus peuplée est cependant Sainte-Marie-de-Ré (3 363 habitants).
L'île de Ré est séparée du continent par le pertuis Breton et se situe au nord des îles d'Aix, d'Oléron, de Madame et de Nôle, et des forts Boyard, d'Énet et de Louvois situé dans le pertuis d'Antioche au sud. Depuis le 19 mai 1988, elle est reliée au continent par le pont de l'île de Ré. Touristique, l'île est surnommée « Ré la blanche » en raison de la teinte caractéristique de ses maisons traditionnelles.

The Bike's Ride #5 - La côte de La Rochelle à Fouras, un littoral sauvage et balnéaire ! | LPR
C'est parti pour la saison 2020 de The Bike's Ride avec un tout nouvel épisode destiné cette fois-ci à la côte sud de La Rochelle en partant du quartier portuaire sud de La Rochelle - Les Minimes afin de longer la côte Atlantique de communes en stations balnéaires avec au programme pour aujourd'hui la traversée d'Aytré-Plage avant de poursuivre par la Pointe du Chay pour arriver ensuite au charmant village d'Angoulins-sur/-Mer.
Nous poursuivrons par Châtelaillon-Plage, LA station balnéaire préconisée par les nombreux touristes venant sur La Rochelle et sa longue plage de sable.
Notre route continuera en longeant la côte de l'ancien quartier ostréicole typique Les Boucholeurs avant de quitter la Communauté d'Agglomération de La Rochelle avec le Marais d'Yves.
Enfin, nous terminerons notre long voyage en arrivant à la presqu'île et station balnéaire de Fouras-les-Bains rendue célèbre par le personnage du même nom dans l'émission Fort Boyard !

Le Bus de Mer a été mis en place à La Rochelle en 2009. C'est un moyen de transport façon ''mini croisière'' qui permet de relier le Port de Plaisance de La Rochelle dans le quartier des Minimes au Vieux Port (vice-versa). Ce bateau qui fonctionne à l’énergie électro-solaire offre une ligne régulière pour une traversée entre 15 et 20 minutes. Vous aurez le plaisir de passer entre les Tours de La Rochelle qui marquent l’entrée historique du Vieux Port et de rejoindre en quelques minutes chaque côté de la ville. Le paiement en espèce est obligatoire et l'appoint est impératif pour l'achat des titres de transport.

The Sea Bus was set up in La Rochelle in 2009. It is a ''mini cruise''-style means of transport which connects the Marina of La Rochelle in the Minimes district to the Old Port (vice-versa). This boat, which runs on electro-solar energy, offers a regular line for a crossing between 15 and 20 minutes. You will have the pleasure of passing between the Towers of La Rochelle which mark the historic entrance to the Old Port and reach each side of the city in a few minutes. Cash payment is mandatory and the supplement is imperative for the purchase of transport tickets.

We continue our journey South along the coast, below La Rochelle, to Châtelaillon-Plage in the Charente- Maritime.
The time we were there, we were treated to a day of American supercars, Motorbikes galore and a huge fleamarket.....not forgetting the Line dancing!! Something I never thought i'd see in France!!
An absolutely lovely seside town, and a real find for us. Somewhere we may head for on a regular basis, due to the town itself. Friendly, bustling- wth everything you need for a great time! Shops, markets, a lovely seafront with bars and retaurants galore, and a massive sandy beach. All within walking distance of a large commercial campsite- 'Airotel camping Village Corsaire 2 plages.'
It was so good, we spent 5 lovely relaxing days here, soaking in the sunshine which came out in all it's glory!! Hurrah!
Definitely worth a visit if you're on this part of the coast!!

The district houses an open-air museum.

Hello, petit aperçu de l'avancée des travaux de la future avenue Simone Veil à La Rochelle-Aytré appelée aussi liaison urbaine des Cottes Mailles avec le Drone DJI Mavic air 2.
Nous pouvons voir l'avenue principale pour les voitures et en parallèle la piste cyclable. Deux des 4 giratoires sont visibles désormais
Passage au dessus du marais de Tasdon qui a été revalorisé il y a quelques mois.
En effet la Communauté d’Agglomération de la Rochelle a souhaité mettre en place un plan de revalorisation du marais de Tasdon. Le site présente un très fort intérêt écologique et doit être préservé.
Une prochaine vidéo sera consacrée à l'installation de la nouvelle passerelle en gare de La Rochelle, qui est sur le point d'être installée.

Aytré reçoit le label France vue sur mer pour protéger ses sentiers côtiers
Les sentiers littoraux leur histoire remonte aux 18e siècle quand il a fallu créer des chemins pour que les douaniers puissent surveiller le rivage et éviter les contrebandes. À la fin du 20e, leur vocation a changé. Il fallait réaliser des passages pour que les promeneurs puissent longer la mer.
Aujourd'hui ils connaissent un succès énorme et cette hyper fréquentation pose parfois problème.
