Exploring Harris Ranch in Coalinga, California USA Walking Tour #harrisranch #coalinga

Exploration To Go takes you on a walking tour through the Harris Ranch complex in Coalinga, California USA in stunning 4K UHD at 60 fps with relaxing jazz / modern / easy listening / instrumental music in the background for listening pleasure. Harris Ranch, or the Harris Cattle Ranch, feedlot is California's largest beef producer, producing 150 million pounds (68 kt) of beef per year in 2010. It is located alongside Interstate 5 at its intersection with State Route 198 east of Coalinga, in the San Joaquin Valley of central California. The ranch is owned by Harris Farms.

The Lost Hills oil field sky views in Lost Hills CA

The Lost Hills field also contains considerable reserves of natural gas. In 1998, one of the field's gas wells was the site of a spectacular blowout, producing a pillar of fire which burned for 14 days and was visible more than 40 miles (64 km) away.

The Lost Hills Field underlies a long, low range of southeast-to-northwest trending hills of the same name adjacent to the San Joaquin Valley. The hills rise scarcely more than 200 feet (61 m) above the San Joaquin Valley to the east, and only 100 feet (30 m) or less above the Antelope Plain to the west; in places they are almost flat. The hills and associated oil field are between Interstate 5 to the east and State Route 33 to the west, both of which parallel the field; Interstate 5 runs about 4 miles (6.4 km) away and Route 33 about 7 miles (11 km). The California Aqueduct runs adjacent to the field boundary on the northeast, and the town of Lost Hills is on the other side of the aqueduct along California State Route 46, which passes through the field from east to west.

The climate in the Lost Hills area is arid to semi-arid, with an average rainfall of 5 to 6 inches (130 to 150 mm) a year, almost all in the winter months. Vegetation in the vicinity of the field is mostly grassland and sparse scrub, with some adjacent orchards, although in the oil field itself most vegetation has been removed from the areas of active operations.
While only the 18th-largest oil field in California in size, in total remaining reserves it ranks sixth, with the equivalent of over 110 million barrels (17,000,000 m3) producible reserves still in the ground, according to the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources (Chevron Corp., the principal operator, estimates considerably more oil in the ground). Production at Lost Hills has been increasing steadily: as of the end of 2006, it was California's second fastest-growing oil field, exceeded only by the nearby Cymric Field.

map of California

California is a state in the Western United States. California borders Oregon to the north, Nevada and Arizona to the east, the Mexican state of Baja California to the south; and has a coastline along the Pacific Ocean to the west. With over 39.5 million residents across a total area of approximately 163,696 square miles (423,970 km2), it is the most populous and the third-largest U.S. state by area. It is also the most populated subnational entity in North America and the 34th most populous in the world. The Greater Los Angeles area and the San Francisco Bay Area are the nation's second and fifth most populous urban regions respectively, with the former having more than 18.7 million residents and the latter having over 9.6 million. Sacramento is the state's capital, while Los Angeles is the most populous city in the state and the second most populous city in the country (after New York City). Los Angeles County is the country's most populous, while San Bernardino County is the largest county by area in the country (Alaska has some larger subdivisions, but they are not called counties). San Francisco, which is both a city and a county, is the second most densely populated major city in the country (after New York City) and the fifth most densely populated county in the country, behind four of New York City's five boroughs.

The economy of California, with a gross state product of $3.2 trillion as of 2019, is the largest sub-national economy in the world. If it were a country, it would be the fifth largest economy as of 2020 as well as the 37th most populous.. The Greater Los Angeles area and the San Francisco Bay Area are the nation's second- and third-largest urban economies ($1.0 trillion and $0.5 trillion respectively as of 2020), after the New York metropolitan area ($1.8 trillion). The San Francisco Bay Area Combined Statistical Area had the nation's highest gross domestic product per capita ($106,757) among large primary statistical areas in 2018, and is home to five of the world's ten largest companies by market capitalization and four of the world's ten richest people.

in the 16th and 17th centuries led to the colonization of California by the Spanish Empire. In 1804, it was included in Alta California province within the Viceroyalty of New Spain. The area became a part of Mexico in 1821, following its successful war for independence, but was ceded to the United States in 1848 after the Mexican–American War. The western portion of Alta California was then organized and admitted as the 31st state on September 9, 1850, following the Compromise of 1850. The California Gold Rush started in 1848 and led to dramatic social and demographic changes, including large-scale immigration into California, a worldwide economic boom, and the California genocide of indigenous people.

Notable contributions to popular culture, for example in entertainment and sports, have their origins in California. The state's extremely diverse geography ranges from the Pacific Coast and metropolitan areas in the west to the Sierra Nevada mountains in the east, and from the redwood and Douglas fir forests in the northwest to the Mojave Desert in the southeast. The Central Valley, a major agricultural area, dominates the state's center. Although California is well known for its warm Mediterranean climate and monsoon seasonal weather, the large size of the state results in climates that vary from moist temperate rainforest in the north to arid desert in the interior, as well as snowy alpine in the mountains. Bravoland Kettleman City- A roadside stop on Interstate 5

Bravo Farms in Kettleman City- A roadside stop on Interstate highway 5.

Located 175 miles North of Los Angeles is a town called Kettleman City. Kettleman City is in the San Joaquin Valley which is the central part of California. Traveling from Los Angeles to San Francisco which is 382 miles, the fastest route by car is Interstate 5. Traveling Interstate 5 takes you directly through the center of California which is all agricultural area with few places to stop.

In Kettleman City you will find a wonderful spot to stop and stretch your legs along with having clean and nice rest rooms. Kettleman makes a good half way point and they have placed Bravoland in just the right spot.

We make this our stop on every trip to Northern California. It is a good place to take a nice walk and shop in a cool clean environment.
Bravoland has animated characters, shooting galleries, shopping, snacks, a restaurant, clean restrooms, and a great play area for the kids.

We live in Southern California and travel the Western portion of the United States showing places that in some cases may be different or unusual. Though we live in Southern California and love amusement parks we feel that people visiting the West are missing out by spending all their time at amusement parks. Being that we were both raised in Southern California amusement parks will always have a special place in our hearts. Come see our journey where we take you places that you may want to add to your list of sights for the future. There is a plethora of things to do in the Western United States and we will likely not come close to showing you all the places to explore. We would enjoy the journey even more if we can take you along with us.

We started our channel during the pandemic so that we could show people some ways that they could travel during those times. Now that things are changing rapidly, we are showing the places that people sometimes miss when visiting the West coast.

We love travel and when we go beyond the West, we will show that as well. We love to show history and historic places along with places the entire family can enjoy

We show you some of the interesting spots including The Pier, the Power Station, Building A-1, two ammo bunkers (technically, ammo magazines) and the building that most people aren't aware of, the Dogsite Building where they loaded the dummy atomic bombs onto the planes for testing.

Have a drink at the Penny Bar in Kern County | Bartell's Backroads

A husband and wife's penny-pinching design covers nearly the entire interior of the McKittrick Hotel Bar and Café from floor to ceiling.

In Kern County oil is king. Somewhere around 70% of California’s fossil fuel is pulled from the county’s underground petroleum deposits. Oil is everywhere. Except for inside the McKittrick Hotel. Here, copper is king. That’s because the entire bar is covered in pennies.

Ashley Plunkett is one of the proud waitresses at the McKittrick Hotel Penny Bar. Not only is she a good hostess, but she’s also kind of a numbers gal.

“They are on the bar, the floor, the ceiling. They are everywhere,” Plunkett said. “Just on the bar top there is 13,482 pennies.”

If you want, Plunkett says you can count for yourself, but be warned, it’s estimated the entire bar has over a million pennies.

This story was recorded pre-pandemic so there is no social distancing.

RIVERSIDE CALIFORNIA DIRT BIKE RIDE GONE WRONG!

Awesome day with friends when we went out on the bikes in Riverside County California to ride and rage our faces off. It was absolutely incredible but things went wrong and here is some footage for you to enjoy.

Riverside County is a county located in the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,189,641, making it the fourth-most populous county in California and the 10th-most populous in the United States. The name was derived from the city of Riverside, which is the county seat.

Riverside County is included in the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario Metropolitan Statistical Area, also known as the Inland Empire. The county is also included in the Los Angeles-Long Beach Combined Statistical Area.

Roughly rectangular, Riverside County covers 7,208 square miles (18,670 km2) in Southern California, spanning from the greater Los Angeles area to the Arizona border. Geographically, the county is mostly desert in the central and eastern portions, but has a Mediterranean climate in the western portion. Most of Joshua Tree National Park is located in the county. The resort cities of Palm Springs, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta, Rancho Mirage, and Desert Hot Springs are all located in the Coachella Valley region of central Riverside County.
