Other notable nearby towns nearby are Carcassonne and Castelnaudary to the south, Castres to the east, and Albi to the northeast. Market days in Revel are held in Revel every Saturday. The 13th arrondissement in the southern part of Paris is peppered with street art. In the 1960s, artists wanting to beautify their surroundings began painting murals on the façades of buildings in this industrial district. In recent years, thanks to backing from the 13th arrondissement town hall and local art galleries, some parts of the district have metamorphosed into veritable open-air museums. There are up to 26 giant works in Boulevard Vincent Auriol alone. In 2013, the district’s Tour Paris 13 initiative became a talking point: a building earmarked for demolition was painted from top to toe by street artists and opened to the public for a month before being torn down. This self-guided tour takes in some of the area’s most noteworthy artworks.

Paris, France - Video Tour of the Bastille Neighborhood (Part 2)
Welcome to the 2nd of our 3 part series on the neighborhood of Bastille in Paris. If you missed our first episode, you can watch it on our YouTube channel:
If you head a little south-east past Gare de Lyon you'll reach the Bercy Stadium (boulevard de Bercy) , a large sports complex and concert venue. Covered by steps and diagonal slabs of grass, this is a favorite hang out for many skateboarders.
It's hard to miss the ultra-modern design of the Cinémathèque Francaise (51 rue de Bercy). In the Cinémathèque there is a cool museum on the history of cinema and a movie theater which host retrospectives on film legends, both past and present.
Continue walking through the gardens to the Cour Saint Emilion. Little known by tourists, the buildings of the Cour Saint Emilion were once warehouses for wine. The Cour Saint Emilion has been restored and converted into lively cafes and shops. At the end you'll find one of the largest movie complexes of Paris.
Of course, visiting Paris is great, but why not live like a local? Rent a furnished apartment or vacation rental from New York Habitat and live like a real Parisian for your next trip to Paris.

An Afternoon in Paris
Our first afternoon on the day we arrived in Paris in the summer of 2011. After checking in our family room with a balcony, and unpacking, we took to the streets to look for a place to eat, and found a KFC beside McDo at Vincent Auriol Boulevard (this is exactly the meeting point for our coach tour on Saturday where the bus will pick us up for a 5-day trip around 4 countries in western europe). From KFC, we strolled along China town (at Avenue de Choisy) to buy bread, fresh and powdered milk, etc. From Hotel Coypel, we took to the streets of Les Gobelins, Saint Marcel, Geoffroy Saint Hilaire, and Buffon, passing by the statue of Jeanne D'Arc (Joan of Arc), until we reached Jardin des Plantes. By 7pm, we were back to the hotel, exhausted.
