➡️ - *Clermont-Ferrand* is a city in central France, located in the Massif Central in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
It is the historic capital of Auvergne and the *capital of the Puy-de-Dôme* department.
???? - The modern city of Clermont-Ferrand was born from the union in the 17th century of two ancient rival cities, *Clermont* and *Montferrand*.
The Gallo-Roman city of _Augustonemetum_ appears after the disappearance of the Arvernian metropolis Nemossos.
It then took the name of Arvernis then Clermont.
At the beginning of the 12th century, the counts of Auvergne founded the competing town of Montferrand. In 1630, Louis XIII imposed the unification of the two neighboring towns with the Edict of Troyes.
This union will be reaffirmed by Louis XV in 1731.

With more than 40,000 students, or a quarter of the municipal population, and 6,000 researchers, it is the first city in France to join the UNESCO learning city network.

The Gergovie plateau is a plateau of the Massif Central located 10 km to the south of Clermont-Ferrand, Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne, France and is named after the nearby village of Gergovie. It is the site of the Battle of Gergovia between Vercingetorix and Julius Caesar in 52 BC.
The plateau is located at 744 meters above sea level, and from it can be seen Chaîne des Puys, Clermont-Ferrand, and the Plaine des Sarlièves (Plain of Sarlièves), along with the Zénith d'Auvergne and the Puy de Sancy which dominates the Auvergne from it position 1886m above sea level.
A reconstructed Gallic hut, with an accompanying permanent exhibition (La Maison de Gergovie) can be seen on the plateau.
The Gergovie Monument (French: monument de Gergovie) or Memorial to Vercingetorix (French: monument commémoratif à Vercingétorix) is a monument by the Clermontois architect Jean Teillard built in 1900 on the eastern edge of the Gergovie plateau, a few kilometers south of Clermont-Ferrand in the French departement of Puy-de-Dôme in Auvergne. It commemorates Vercingetorix's victory over Julius Caesar on this site in 52 BC.
The monument was registered as a French Monument historique in March 2018 (the oppidum was registered in 2013) and in November of the same year, the monument was classified, included in a much larger classification of a major part of the Gergovie plateau.

NOTE: I was doing some work for Accor Hotels (part of Sofitel) and they invited me to stay for a few complimentary nights and I didn’t pay for this buffet. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own, and I chose to make this video on my own.
I definitely haven't been to all the buffets in Bali, but there have been many that say, for the quality and variety, the Sunday brunch buffet at Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua, is probably the best of the island - and after eating there, I have no arguments - it was an outstanding buffet!
My wife Ying and I arrived to the buffet right as they opened for brunch on Sunday, and immediately we walked around to see all that was available. Sofitel is a French hotel, so you can count on there being plenty of French food, bread, pastries, and cheese. But you’ll also find a great selection of Indonesian food and Balinese food, and my favorite station, which was the grilled Balinese style seafood station.
This is one of the huge buffets that I only wish I would be in my early 20’s again, to be able to eat non-stop - but unfortunately I fill up much faster than I did back then.
I’ve eaten at 2 Sofitel brunch buffets now (the other in Manila: and what I like about Sofitel buffets is that they cook in small batches, and the food is very high quality, while having an abundance of choices.
I didn’t pay for this meal, but I looked up the price…
Starts at IDR 599,000 ($44.33) and goes up with drink choices
