Come along with me where I visit the famous Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie. The Port Macquarie Koala Hospital is the world’s first hospital dedicated to koala bears. It was established in 1973 and is run by the organisation, the Koala Preservation Society Australia. It consists of a treatment room, 8 ICUs, 6 outdoor ICUs and 33 rehabilitation yards, with the admission of around 200 to 250 koala bears annually.

Mannum Walks #4 - Cowirra by Two Feet and Two Wheels
One of 10 great walks in and around Mannum, a charming and historic town one hour by freeway from the South Australian capital, Adelaide.
Highlights: Tourist Office/Dock Museum; ferry; river; houseboats; bird-life; Cowirra village
Distance & Time of Walk: about 3kms and 35 mins, plus stops, on foot.
Shops and Toilets: plenty of shops along the main street. Toilets at Arnold Park at the start of the walk.
Start: Arnold Park, next to the Tourist Office/Dock Museum on the main street in Mannum.
Route: ferry across river; turn left along signed cycling/walking trail; at obvious gate where road turns inland, walk along the levee; turn left at wooden gate into Cowirra at the first sign of a house; left towards the river and right along the foreshore.
Finish: along the foreshore in Cowirra.
Car parking: Arnold Park next to the Tourist Office/Dock Museum.
Ease of walk: flat the whole way. Ideal for cycling, but only mountain bikes along the levee. For other bikes, continue along the road to the sign-off to Cowirra.

Quatrième étape de notre trip en Australie, Robinvale/Mildura, dans le Victoria !
Etape obligatoire : trouver du travail.
C'est donc dans un premier temps à Robinvale, que nous sommes allés. Nous avons travaillé en tant que General Labourer dans une entreprise pour transport.
Le plus ? Cette boite compte pour nos 88 jours.
Le plus plus ? Nous avons commencés sous un soleil d'été écrasant, et nous avons travaillé dans les frigos.
Le plus plus plus ? Nous étions bien payés. Nous avons donc un peu craqué et acheté un drone.
Fabian partait avec les chauffeurs pour récupérer les palettes chez les fermiers, puis une fois que toutes les palettes ont été collectées, il remplissait les camions long-couriers.
Magali commençait par le cleaning, puis wrappait les palettes grâce à une machine. Une fois ce travail finit, elle allait aider au chargement et déchargement des camions.
Lorsqu'il y avait des temps morts, il fallait trouver quelque chose à faire, nous avons donc aidé à nettoyer les camions.
Après presque 4 mois à Robinvale, la saison des raisins s'est finie. Nous n'avions plus de travail, mais voulions encore travailler un mois histoire d'être sûr d'avoir assez d'argent pour le road trip ! Nous avons cherché partout sur Robinvale/Euston/Mildura. Nous avions une piste pour une ferme solaire, et avons donc passé la White Card. Malheureusement le plan n'a pas fonctionné... mais grande surprise ! Vince notre ancien patron nous a contacté pour aller travailler dans son autre autre entrepôt sur Mildura pour la saison des agrumes.
Nous y avons travaillé 1 mois, puis avons commencé notre Road Trip, direction Alice Springs !! La vidéo arrive bientôt !

Kersbrook Horse Trail, Adelaide, South Australia
Located just a short drive from the centre of Adelaide, the Kersbrook Horse Trail is a shared use track that uses both main roads and fire tracks to meander around the small township of Kersbrook in the scenic Mt Lofty Ranges. However in January the area was severely burnt during the Sampson Flat Bushfires and four months later it is still a scene of devastation.

The Tranquility of Walking the Yurrebilla Trail
The Yurrebilla Trail is a fifty four kilometre trail that for much of it's length follows the Mt Lofty Ranges hill face, offering magnificent views over the city of Adelaide. Depending on which direction you travel, it starts at Belair Railway Station and passing Waite Institute and Eagle on the Hill goes on to Summertown, Norton Summit and Morialta before finishing near the source of the River Torrens at Athelstone.
West Tanjil River - Australian Whitewater Film Festival entry
An adventurous decent of the Tanjil River West Branch during winter 2022, Sean and Leigh explore the mountainous river on the southern slopes of Mt Baw Baw. This Mossy, granit boulder river winds its way through lush temperate rainforest making it an exciting and beautiful paddle.

Section: Upper Canyon Run (possible a first descent?)
Get in: Just upstream of bridge crossing on Mt Baw Baw Tourist Road (650mt ASL)
Get out: 1.5km downstream, on river right, then walk to road (580mt ASL)
Grade: 3/4
Length / gradient: 1.5km, 70mt total (46mt per km)
Time: 2.5 hours on river
Walk out info: 1.5 hours to clamber 130mt, with a 42mt gradient climb (up a wet, slippery, leach riddled, rainforest clad hill - was heinous and hard)
River level: 15-20mm on snow the night before - looks paddlable at get in. first rapid bumpy but clean.
Access: The get-in is located on the Mt Baw Baw Tourist Rd, about 30km NW of Noojee, and 2km west of Tanjil Bren village. More research is needed on viable get-outs as dragging kayaks up the hill is as rough as hessian undies.
Tips: carry elbow pads and a pruning saw
Description: This short section of delightful river consists mainly of continuous grade 2/3 boulder gardens, with many technical grade 3/4 drops, all encased in a sublime granite canyon with dense cool temperate rainforest surrounds. We paddled it at a lower level, which proved fine for a first descent, and optimal river flows would be another 4 - 8cm higher at the get in. There is an abundance of wood sieves and strainers that requires ongoing inspection, thus making progress slow. The silver lining here is taking time out to admire the absolute grandeur of the gorge). In total, we portaged about eight (8) strainers (all easy, like 5-10 mins) and were able to dislodge wood from several rapids to create clean lines to run. We portaged a 3mt waterfall, that we both think could be ran, with a solid right hand boof at the lip to avoid the folded flow and potential pin. Send us a photo when you run it!! From here, the boogie continues for another couple hundred meters, with a constant zig and zag between narrow slot drops, until the climb out.
