What to expect of tranquil DRENTHE - The Netherlands
The province of Drenthe in The Netherlands is loved for its untouched nature, beauty and tranquillity. The tens of kilometres of walking trails and bike paths lead through open landscapes, peat bogs, moors, forests and more. The purple heather can be admired from late July to early September. The tulips bloom from end of March to mid-May.
I highly recommend Dwingelderveld National Park (the largest continuous wet heathland area in Western Europe) and also Transit Camp Westerbork. Over 100,000 Jews, Sinti and Roma were deported from this camp during WWII. The camp grounds are freely accessible and a few original structures still remain.

This video shows cycling along the last few metres of a bicycle road (bikes have priority, not a through route for cars) into the centre of the city of Assen and then a little of the roads in the centre of the city where cars don't go. There are a few delivery vans, and as there was an event on the Koopmansplein there were vehicles there too, but mostly it's just cyclists and pedestrians. 41% of all journeys in the city are made by bicycle.

The A2 highway is a highway in the Netherlands. It is one of the busiest in the Netherlands. The road connects the city of Amsterdam, near the Amstel interchange with the Belgian border, near Maastricht (NL) and Liège (B), and the Belgian A25 road.
The route of the A2 motorway is shared with two major European routes. Between its start, at Amstel Interchange, near Amsterdam, and the Interchange Oudenrijn, near Utrecht, European route E35 follows the A2 motorway. From the Oudenrijn Interchange towards the Belgian border just south of Maastricht, European route E25 follows the route of the A2. Local and express lanes on A2 have different speed limits. The speed limit on express lanes is 120 km/h (75 mph) and locals is 100 km/h (63 mph).
