Top 15 Places To Visit In Ooty | Tamil Nadu India
Ooty, also known as Udhagamandalam, is a hill station in the state of Tamil Nadu, in southern India. Surrounded by trees, central Ooty Lake is a huge artificial expanse of water with pleasure boats. On the slopes of nearby Elk Hill, the Rose Garden is home to over 2,000 varieties of roses. The Government Botanical Garden, created in the 19th century, features ferns, orchids and a prehistoric, fossilized tree.
1.The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is a 1,000 mm metre gauge railway in Tamil Nadu, India,
built by the British in 1908, and is operated by the Southern Railway.
2.Pykara Lake
Pykara is the name of a village and river 19 kilometres (12 mi) from Ooty in the Indian State of Tamil Nadu.
3. Botanical Garden
The Gardens, divided into several sections, cover an area of around 55 hectares, and lie on the lower slopes
of Doddabetta peak.
4. Ooty Lake
It is located in the Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu, India. It covers an area of 65 acres.
The Boat house situated by the lake, which offers boating facilities to tourists, is a major tourist attraction in Ooty.
5. Rose Garden
This is situated on the slopes of the Elk Hill in Vijayanagaram of Ooty town in Tamil Nadu, India.
The flowers are arranged in five curving terraces covering four hectares.
6. Doddabetta Peak Ooty
This is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills at 2,637 metres (8,650 feet).
There is a reserved forest area around the peak and it is 9 km from Ooty.
7. Avalanche Lake
The lake derived the name avalanche because of a huge landslide that occurred in the region in the early 1800s,
and this lake is surrounded by a rolling landscape with blooming flowers like magnolias, orchids and rhododendrons.
8. Shooting Point
Shooting point is a beautiful hill slope in Ooty in Tamilnadu.Cool golden sunlight afternoons are the
speciality of this place.
9. Emerald Lake Ooty
The lake is famous for a variety of fish in the lake and birds in the locale.
It is located in a region called the silent valley, about 25 kilometers from the Ooty town.
10.Ketti Valley View
It is located on the Ooty Coonoor road at a distance of 4 kilometres from Ooty bus stand and
constitutes ward number 5 of the Nilgiris Lok Sabha constituency.
11.Mudumalai National Park
The Mudumalai National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary also a declared tiger reserve,
lies on the northwestern side of the Nilgiri Hills (Blue Mountains), in Nilgiri District,
about 150 kilometres (93 mi) north-west of Coimbatore city in Tamil Nadu.

Located just opposite Ooty lake, which is two km from railway station and bus stand.
