Today’s video is about Hoysala Temple Trail at Arsikere in the state of Karnataka in India.
Hoysala temples are not just limited to Belur, Halebidu and Somnathpura temples. I am absolutely in love with these temples. I was amazed to find that there are more than 100 Hoysala temples built around Karnataka. And Arsikere is one such place in Karnataka that also has these hidden Hoysala temples.
As part of the Hoysala Temple Trail in Arsikere, my friend Divya and I visited the below temples:

3. Someshwara Temple

The Ishvara Temple (also spelt Ishwara or Isvara) in Arasikere town of the Hassan district in Karnataka state, India, dates to c. 1220 CE rule of Hoysala Empire. Amarashilpi Jakanachari was the main sculptor of this temple. This temple has been built using soapstone.

Our adventure commenced at Arsikere railway station, where we boarded a comfortable KSRTC bus, embarking on a scenic road journey from Arsikere to Kadur followed by Chikmagalur in Karnataka. As we traversed the picturesque routes, our anticipation grew to explore the famed Chikmagalur tourist places and other captivating destinations that Karnataka had to offer.
Chikmagalur, nestled in the heart of Karnataka, is a treasure trove of tourist attractions. Its natural beauty and cultural heritage make it a must-visit destination. From ancient temples to sprawling coffee plantations, Chikmagalur has something to enthrall every traveler. We explored the renowned Mullayangiri peak, the highest peak in Karnataka, relishing the breathtaking vistas it offered. The Western Ghats stood tall, casting a mesmerizing spell on us, as if straight out of a captivating Western Ghats documentary.
As we continued our journey through Chikmagaluru Karnataka, we were greeted by the enchanting Karnataka monsoon. The rain showers added an ethereal charm to the landscapes, rejuvenating the lush greenery and creating a magical ambiance. We reveled in the beauty of Karnataka rain, as it danced on the bus windows, immersing us in its refreshing embrace.
Upon reaching Kadur, a quaint town with its own distinct allure, we felt a sense of tranquility envelop us. The warm hospitality of the locals and the delightful cuisine enriched our experience, giving us a glimpse of the authentic essence of Karnataka.
Our final destination was the magnificent Mullayangiri peak, which beckoned us to embark on an exhilarating journey. The mist-covered trail and occasional drizzles heightened the thrill of our trek, as we ventured higher. At the summit, a breathtaking panorama unfolded before our eyes, confirming the grandeur of Mullayangiri and the Western Ghats.
Our journey through Chikmagalur tourist places (best amonst Karnataka tourist places), the enchanting landscapes of Karnataka, and the captivating charm of Chikmagaluru Karnataka left an indelible mark on our souls. The monsoon season in Karnataka added a touch of enchantment to our adventure, with the rain showering its blessings upon us.
