Ebonyi State is a South Eastern state in Nigeria majorly one of the 6 states created on the 1st of October, 1996 by the then federal military government under the leadership of late Gen. Sani Abacha. It was created from parts of Enugu State and Abia State.
Before the existence of Ebonyi state, it was formerly a part of the old Ogoja Province with Abakaliki as a government station for the administration of the surrounding localities in the then Eastern Region. It got to a level of Provincial Status when Nigeria attained independence in 1960; the provincial areas had three Divisions namely: Abakaliki, Afikpo and Obubara.
With the division of the former East Central State into Imo and the Anambra States in 1976 by the Federal Government of Nigeria, Abakaliki Province was Balkanized *split into two with Abakaliki Division as an appendage of Anambra State while Afikpo Division was attached to Imo State.

The Azumini Blue River is the only crystal clear blue river in Nigeria.
As part of the eastern Nigeria Tour, I visited the Azumini Blue river which is Located in Ukwu East Local government Area of Abia State Nigeria.
Because of its beautiful and relaxing nature, sometimes, you find people visit this place to take a canoe riding and river partying. You also find people swimming and excavating sands from the river.
It is said that the river flows back to the Atlantic Ocean via Akwa Ibom state Nigeria.
Despite its tourist potential and designating it as one of the state tourist point, The Abia state government has done nothing to develop the tourist potential of this place.

Welcome to a momentous day in the history of Arochukwu Kingdom! On the 10th of October, 2022, the entire community gathered at Ukwu Ovor Ibom Isii to witness the grand coronation of HRM, Mazi Godwin Kanu Idei, as the 9th Eze Aro.
In a ceremony filled with tradition, culture, and unity, HRH, Mazi Kanu Nwa Kanu, the Eze Ibom Isii of Arochukwu Kingdom, led the coronation. The event was graced by the presence of all village heads of the Ibom Isii villages, the otusi of Arochukwu Kingdom, and several notable personalities in the Kingdom.
The crowning of the new Eze Aro marks a pivotal moment in Arochukwu's history. Since the passing of the former Eze Aro, Mazi Vincent Ogbonnaya Okoro, there had been significant controversies. However, with the enthronement of HRM Mazi Godwin Kanu Idei, joy and peace have been restored to the entire Arochukwu Kingdom.
