Spain Road Trip Part 1. 8 weeks in a Motorhome
First episode of our Motorhome winter road trip through France to Spain in 2022. Dogged by delays; first France not letting tourists in, then the wife getting the dreaded C-word. We travel through France over 3 days to Pamplona in our Elddis Accordo 125 6m Motorhome. Then onto the Spanish coast where our first episode ends.

Places to see in ( Paris - France ) Avenue Montaigne
Avenue Montaigne is a street in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, France. Avenue Montaigne was originally called the allée des Veuves (widows' alley) because women in mourning gathered there, but the street has changed much since those days of the early 18th century. The current name comes from Michel de Montaigne, a writer of the French Renaissance. In the nineteenth century, the street earned some renown for its sparkling and colourful Mabille balls on Saturday nights.
Avenue Montaigne boasts numerous stores specialising in high fashion, such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel, Fendi, Valentino and Ralph Lauren, as well as jewellers like Bulgari and other upscale establishments such as the Plaza Athénée hotel.
By the 1980s, the avenue Montaigne was considered to be la grande dame of French streets for high fashion and accessories, and is now considered more important than rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré. Several established clothing designers set up here, particularly the LVMH (Moët Hennessey Louis Vuitton) group. LVMH brought investment and international attention to the street, and its stable of top designers and firms, such as Céline, Louis Vuitton, Inès de la Fressange and formerly Christian Lacroix, own a substantial portfolio of the street's real estate.
In 2009, the Comité Montaigne presided over by Jean-Claude Cathalan has launched a website, with an interactive map. At 15, avenue Montaigne stands the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.

On se retrouve pour une nouvelle vidéo sur le village de Gordes !
La vielle pierre, voici ce qui caractérise ce village de caractère. Les petites ruelles provençales, la pierre, ce village est super jolie.
Nous avons ensuite visité l'Abbaye de Sénanque qui émerge au dessus des magnifiques champs de lavandes, c'est juste magnifique ! Juste dommage que l'on ne puisse pas accéder à plus de champs de lavandes.
Puis nous avons terminé par le village des Bories qui pour nous a été le meilleur endroit de cette journée ! C'est authentique, incroyable, magnifique enfin bref un incontournable si vous venez à Gordes.

Cannes harbour, or Le vieux port de Cannes, is where many of the prestigious boats and yachts moor when they arrive in Cannes.
During the Film Festival, MIPIM and MIPTV, some of the events organisers and hold conferences on their boats instead of the conference centre.
It is a very lovely harbour and you can walk right the way around taking in the lovely boats and fish which take refuge in the harbour.

Le Mans is the home town of the 24 hours race
An endurance race like no other and with approximately 250,000 attendees. It is one of the biggest sporting events in the world.
The 24 hour race takes place every year in the middle of June.
This video shows a trip with friends and also a quick tour to Paris.
What is the best way to get to Le Mans?
Generally by car. Le Mans is easily accessible via motorway from Calais (5hrs) or Caen/Le Havre/St Malo/Cherbourg (3hrs). For those without a car (perhaps flying in to Paris from abroad) then it is possible to get to Le Mans either from Paris airport or Montparnasse station via the train.
The 2015 Le Mans 24 Hours was a classic race culminating in a stunning 1-2 by Porsche's 919 hybrids, as car number 19 in 'future' livery driven by Nico Huelkenberg, Earl Bamber and Brit Nick Tandy (his first year in LMP1) swept to victory. On only their second year back in the LMP1 prototype class, Porsche showed huge speed and reliability, that devilish combination that works wonders at Le Mans.
