One day in Arkhangelsk
Arkhangelsk, also known in English as Archangel and Archangelsk, is a city and the administrative center of Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia.
It lies on both banks of the Northern Dvina near its mouth into the White Sea. The city spreads for over 40 kilometers along the banks of the river and numerous islands of its delta.
Arkhangelsk was the chief seaport of medieval and early modern Russia until 1703 when it was replaced by the newly-founded Saint Petersburg.
A 1,133-kilometer-long railway runs from Arkhangelsk to Moscow via Vologda and Yaroslavl, and air travel is served by the Talagi Airport and the smaller Vaskovo Airport. As of the 2021 Census, the city's population was 301,199.
Arkhangelsk - Russia's First Window on Europe
Many people, even in Russia, believe that the city of St. Petersburg was the first window to Europe for the Russian state. But this is not entirely true. In reality, the first window to Europe was the city of Arkhangelsk (1584), which was founded almost 200 years before St. Petersburg. This city was one of the leading financial centers of the country.
After the founding of St. Petersburg, the city became a typical provincial northern Russian city. The collapse of the Soviet Union also had a devastating effect on the city. Many people simply left it in search of work and self-fulfillment.
We strolled through the streets of the city and admired the architecture of the city, which absorbed evidence of different historical periods in the life of Russia, which radically reshaped society, which was invariably reflected in the architecture.

Обзорный ролик, я бы сказал, небольшого посёлка на юге Архангельской области. Одни из моих первых съёмок на DJI Osmo Mobile (на iPhone SE). Сентябрь 2017. Сьёмки уже отчасти исторические, потому что, например, старую советскую бензозаправку и так уже много лет заброшенную спустя месяц полностью снесли. Прямо во время съёмок там ложили асфальт на одну из главных улиц. В общем, благоустройство идёт полным ходом - только и успевай снимать сцены до/после.
