Argeles sur Mer marina (Porte d'Argeles-sur-Mer), also known as Porte de Plaisance d'Argeles-sur-Mer or simply Porte Argeles, is located near Albert, on the Mediterranean coast of France. Marina Argeles-sur-Mer, with its squares, shops, restaurants and entertainment, has a unique location at the foot of the Pyrenees, among vineyards and sun-baked villages. An additional convenience of the location is the proximity to the international airports: Perpignan-Rivesaltes
Located 25 km from the marina of Argeles-sur-Mer, and Girona airport 90 km.
The marina accommodates 790 berths, has a convenient entry and provides many services: water, electricity, toilets, showers, a fuel station, restaurants, loading and unloading, a yacht accessories shop, repair of sails and yachts in general.
Situated at the foot of the Albert mountain range and surrounded by picturesque beaches, Argeles-sur-Mer marina makes an incredible impression, as you are in the heart of the countryside, with incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea and mountains.

Great Mediterranean Coast Hike in Occitanie, France | Day 1 Argelès-sur-Mer, Collioure, Port-Vendres
Explore the beauty of Mediterranean coast hiking with us! Discover the variety of landscapes and scenic beaches, its flora and fauna, historical places and small villages. These video series is devoted to the Catalonian part of it, starting from the French village Argelès-sur-Mer in Pyrénées-Orientales all the way to the Spanish village of Cadaqués and Cap de Creus cape on the Costa Brava. Immerse yourself in the peaceful holiday mood and we bet you'll find a place to put on your travel bucket list and to visit on your next vacation! Or even dare to do this hike yourself!
It was our first day of the Great Mediterranean Hike when we walked 17 km from Argeles Plage to Port-Vendres outskirts. It is all started the night before when it was raining cats and dogs and the wind was blowing fiercely. Because of that we woke up pretty late in the morning and even considered for a moment to give up on a hike because of the bad weather. But we've been already postponing this hike for so long because of that so finally we put ourselves together and started walking. Luckily the weather was favourable all day long. And even though it was the weekend we didn't met too many people on the way. The day was full of great views, different landscapes, and exceptional variety of flowers (some of them we haven't even seen before!). We enjoyed very much the route that goes from Argeles to Couilloure, it is not very long, but still offers you all the richness of landscapes of the region. We got lost several times in small villages but finally managed to find the route signs, just had to look close. There was no long gaps between the marking, they were everywhere. First, we walked through Argeles village which is by our opinion a perfect holiday destination for everybody with nice wide sandy beaches, lots of activities offered and plenty of campings to stay in. Then we entered the village of Couilloure where the architecture that surrounds you speaks for itself, it immerses you in the history and creates bohemian atmosphere. Finally we reached Port-Vendres where we had a little time to spend but our first impression was that it is an old city with quite a big port with deep waters (we've seen a cruise ship parked there) and active fishing market(we could say it by a strong smell of fresh fish). At the end of the day we were running out of time, the sun was setting and we realized that we won't get to our planned destination which was Banyuls-sur-Mer. It meant that we had to walk around 8 km more to our camping and we very already more than tired. So we had no other option left that just find a place to stealth camp. So we had to gather our powers and walk several kms more till we find a spot at a vineyard close to the seaside. It was the only place with relatively flat surface and it is the most unusual place we've camped at so far. So we quickly prepared and ate some dinner and fell asleep right away overwelmed by the first and is it turned out the hardest day of our trip.

Places to see in ( Argeles sur Mer - France )
Argelès-sur-Mer is a town on France’s Mediterranean coast. It’s known for the long Argelès Beach with its seafront promenade. In the Catalan-style old town, 14th-century Notre-Dame del Prat Church has views from its bell tower. Valmy Park to the south includes trails, a 19th-century castle and the Aigles de Valmy bird zoo. To the north, Mas Larrieu Natural Reserve is home to herons, gulls and bee-eaters.
Argeles-sur-Mer is a town and seaside resort on the Mediterranean coast of France, near the border with Spain and on the section of coast known as the Cote Vermeille. It is in an attractive setting with the low hills of the eastern Pyrenees and the massif des Albères behind the beach and Mount Canigou visible beyond.
Argeles-sur-Mer is a popular and pleasant resort on the Languedoc coast, mostly visited for the activities along the coast and beach. The sandy beach is almost seven kilometres long, and interspersed with rocky pools and has been awarded the Blue Flag award for its cleanliness and facilities. It is the most important resort on this stretch of the coast.
A short distance inland from the Mediterranean, Argeles is a pleasant town in the Catalan style with some interesting narrow streets to explore in the remaining part of the historic village. Most of the original ramparts have now disappeared though on Rue du 14 Juillet you can see the Jalabert tower and various other sections can be seen as you wander the streets.
You can ascend the belltower in the Church of Notre-Dame-del-Prat for views across the region. This belltower is 34m high and as well as a belltower it served as a lookout post and signal station.
Particular highlights close by include the pretty little Chapel of Saint-Jerome d'Argeles and the Hermitage of Saint-Ferreol-de-la-Pave: both of these are very old 10th century chapels in the roman style. Church enthusiasts will also want to visit the Church of Saint-Laurent-du-Mont a little way south of the town which is a beautifully preserved 12th century roman style church.
Argeles also has a pleasant tree lined port whose edges are lined with restaurants. It is a very pleasant spot to sit outside at one of the many restaurants and eat dinner overlooking the harbour. You can also stroll along the seafront to the attractive coastal hamlet of Le Racou.
Starting from Argeles you can walk the coastal path from the nature reserve of Mas Larrieu. The walk takes you past many coves as well as the pretty beach and hamlet of Le Racou near the Port.
Another popular trip from Argeles is to Valmy to see the lovely views and and the eagles soaring overhead. There is also a 19th century 'chateau' at Valmy which is interesting to architects because it was one of the earliest buildings constructed with reinforced concrete, although you might not guess just by looking at it, it is now a chambre d'hote.
En route for Valmy you can visit the defensive Massane tower which was built in the 13th century on a rocky peak, while the sturdy square tower that is all that remains of the 12th century Chateau de Pujol is a little way north of the town.
Argeles is just a few kilometers from Collioure, a very attractive port and beach with a castle and lively old town. A trip north to explore Perpignan is also enjoyable, then a little further you can explore the Pyrenees foothills along the Têt Valley or take a trip to one of the cathar castles such as Château Peyrepertuse. While we are in France working, we do get the occasional afternoon off where we can go to the towns and beaches around Perpignan as well
This was one such afternoon
After years of visiting Perpignan, this time we got a chance to visit Argeles Sur Mer. Luckily we had good warm weather this afternoon. We didn't have time to go for a swim but did enjoy the walk along the beach.

Argelès-sur-Mer Adventure School Trip | Voyager School Travel
Long Field Academy secondary school in Leicestershire travelled to Argeles-sur-Mer, Southern France 13th - 21st June 2014 for their Voyager Adventure multi-activity school trip. They had a fantastic week sailing, snorkelling, stand-up paddle-boarding , kayaking, white water rafting, hydrospeeding, windsurfing and more!
