Archdale is a city located in Randolph County, North Carolina, United States. It was incorporated in 1969 when two neighboring towns, Archdale and Trinity, merged.
The area was first settled by European colonizers in the early 1700s. The town was initially named Bush Hill but later renamed to Archdale in honor of John Archdale, the governor of North Carolina from 1694 to 1695.
In the late 1800s, the town was a major hub for the furniture industry, with several manufacturing plants operating in the area. The town continued to grow throughout the 20th century, with the establishment of several schools, churches, and businesses.
Today, Archdale is a thriving community with a population of over 11,000 residents. The city is home to several parks, including Creekside Park and Lake Thom-A-Lex Park, which offer opportunities for hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Archdale is also known for its annual Bush Hill Heritage Festival, which celebrates the town's history and culture.
