In this video, we visit the wonderful salt graduation walls by Bad Kreuznach and later also Alsfeld, another beautiful German town full of 100s of half-timbered houses. We found a camper place (Stellplatz) in walking distance from the old town centre.
Some other camper places are also mentioned briefly and in the text below there are links to all of them. One of them with fallow deer right in front of our camper.

Best Europe Road Trip | German Fairy Tale Route
Our German road trip continues as we start our first day on the Fairy Tale Route that has taken us to see the real life Rapunzel Tower before making a stop over in Fritzlar to try some local pastries.
This whole route is inspired by the Brothers Grimm tales of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Red Riding Hood and all the classic Disney tales. We end our day before making our way to stay in one of the coolest hotels on our entire trip!

The Top Place to Visit in Germany!! (Bavarian Alps is breathtaking)
Welcome to the most beautiful spot in all of Germany - the Bavarian alps are absolutely breathtaking.
Thanks to Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden Germany Bavarian Alps for the incredible stay:
Honestly this is why you come to Germany - we have been absolutely blown away by the beauty of the Bavarian Alps. We were super thankful to be able to spend a couple of nights at the incredible Kempinski Hotel Berchtesgaden perched high up in the Alps.
After taking it all in we wanted to go and explore more so we found the cutest little lunch spot, which may have had some complications to get to. We parked our car in Austria, walked through the town of Hirschbichl, may have got lost but the best kind of lost - the views we found were jaw-dropping.
The lunch spot was called Bindalm - a little farm that sells hot chocolate and produce from the farm they run.

Next up we saw the most breathtaking lake in all of Germany - Konigssee - we caught the boat to St Bartholomew's red church and it really reminded us of Milford Sound in New Zealand.
We ended our final day in Germany swinging on a swing, date night dinner and a quick swim in the pool!

Our journey begins in Koblenz. In around 1000 A.D. a castle was built on a knoll on the east bank of the Rhine and Castle Ehrenbreitstein gradually developed. Europe’s second largest fortress was given its appearance as we see it today, between 1817 and 1828. From the Middle Ages to the late eighteenth century, Koblenz was the residence of the powerful archbishops of Trier and in 1794 it was taken over by France and in 1815, by Prussia. Following the Rhine, our journey leads to Boppard where town houses, stately homes and churches form the romantic old town. After the invasion of the Alemanni, a city wall was built in order to protect what was a toll castle and today the town has developed into an attractive tourist destination surrounded by woods and vineyards. We pass by a high rock on a sharp bend where the Rhine is barely a hundred and thirteen metres wide. Legend tells of a beautiful mermaid, Loreley , who enchanted and distracted sailors with her singing in order that their boats would be destroyed on the rocks. Soon, the river becomes more tranquil. Slowly the craggy slopes change to vineyards and the river valley widens. Bacharach nestles in the confluence of the Steeger Valley, into the extensive Rhine Valley, protected by a sturdy wall. Above the town is the Stahleck Fortress that was first recorded in 1095 and became the residence of the Count Of Palatine On The Rhine, in 1142. The conclusion of our journey, Rüdesheim is a picturesque town that boasts more visitors than residents, its sunny location making it ideal for viticulture. A mediaeval church, wooden buildings and stately homes, and the famous Drosselgasse, characterise the city. The Middle Rhine Valley reflects the history of Europe. With cultural monuments and cultivated countryside, crowded settlements along narrow banks and various noble castles situated on rocky ledges, it is a reflection of the romantic history of times gone by.

We Tried German Spaghetti Ice Cream | Alsfeld, Marburg & Frankfurt
Spaghetti Ice Cream from Germany? Did not know this was a thing but so many of you told us that we HAD to try it when we popped into Frankfurt.
On our final Germany road trip series (for now) we head into Little Red Riding Hoods town of Alsfeld before having an incredible dinner in Marburg before finally handing the keys back in Frankfurt.

Welcome to our home country! Last time we were in the east, this time we explore central Germany.
We drove on the German Fairy Tale Route, that stretches from Bremen (North Germany) to Hanau (South Hesse State).
This route is focused around the Brother Grimm, where they lived, worked and were inspired to write the world known fairytales.
We visited Fritzlar, Marburg and Alsfeld. These three little cities are truly beautiful with all the half-timbered houses. Typical german!

auf der Durchreise konnten wir endlich mal nach Alsfeld kommen, wenn auch nur kurz, aber es war wunderschön. Die Alten Häuser, die Gassen, die romantischen Restaurants... laden alle zu einem Besuch ein. Wir haben für die Nacht 5,00 EUR gezahlt. Strom benötigen wir nicht, kostet jedoch 0,50 Cent pro Kw/h und für 1,00 EUR erhaltet Ihr 50 Liter Wasser.
