Sadiq Garh Palace: Most Beautiful Abandoned Chateau in Bahawalpur, Pakistan #shorts
Sadiq Garh Palace
Regal and majestic, the three-storey heritage palace epitomises the classic silhouette of a fairytale castle. Situated on 125 acres of land on the outskirts of Dera Nawab Sahib in a town in Ahmadpur East tehsil of Bahawalpur, a former princely state that merged into Pakistan in 1955. The majestic property was constructed by Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan (IV) in 1882 and while it has been abandoned for last 3 decades, still retains many of its striking original features. With 120 rooms the palace boasts almost 40,000 square feet of inside space in need of rescue.
With its grand domes, stately entrances and beautiful courtyards, it's hard to understand how this exquisite palace ended up deserted by the Nawabs. Shrouded in mystery and left to weather the sands of time, this abandoned stately building is hiding a treasure trove of secrets within its eerie walls. The Viceroy of India Lord Mountbatten, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Shah Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi were among the prominent leaders who once stayed at this white palace as the guests of the nawab.
In view of the country's burgeoning tourist trade, the need to conserve this crumbling heritage site has now become all the more pronounced. The three-storey palace may either be given to Army Authorities for its conservation on the lines of Noor, Gulzar and Darbar Mahals or to the Agha Khan Trust for its reuse as a luxury hotel. This site possesses immense tourism potential being close to Derawar Fort and the Lal Suhanra National Park. Nonetheless, across India, many other former royal households and stately buildings have opened up in a similar way. The most gorgeous and regal palaces and forts that have been turned into luxury hotels are: Umaid Bhawan, Rambagh, Udaipur Bilas, Deogarh, City Palace and Fort Rajwada.

Derawar Fort
Derawar Fort is a large square fortress in Ahmadpur East Tehsil, Punjab, Pakistan. The walls have a perimeter of 1500 metres and stand up to thirty metres high.
Approximately 100 km south of the city of Bahawalpur, the forty bastions of Derawar are visible for many miles in the Cholistan Desert.
Derawar fort was built by Rai Jajja Bhatti, a Rajput ruler of the Bhatti clan.
The fort was built in the 9th century CE as a tribute to Rawal Deoraj Bhatti, a Rajput sovereign king of the Jaisalmer and Bahawalpur areas who had his capital at Lodhruva.
The fort was initially known as Dera Rawal, and later referred to as Dera Rawar, which with the passage of time came to be pronounced Derawar, its present name.
In the 18th century, the fort was taken over by Muslim Nawabs of Bahawalpur from the Shahotra tribe.
It was later renovated by Abbasi rulers, but in 1747 the fort slipped from their hands owing to Bahawal Khan's preoccupations at Shikarpur.
Nawab Mubarak Khan took the stronghold back in 1804. 1,000 year-old catapult shells were found in the debris near a decaying wall in the fort.
The off-road Cholistan Desert Jeep Rally or TDCP Cholistan Jeep Rally was recently established near the Derawar Fort in Ahmadpur East Tehsil.
This historically significant fort presents an enormous and impressive structure in the heart of the Cholistan desert, but it is rapidly deteriorating and in need of immediate preventative measures for preservation.

Ahmadpur East or Ahmedpur Sharqia (Urdu, Punjabi: تحصیل احمدپور شرقیہ) is one of the five tehsils (administrative subdivisions) of Bahawalpur District in the Punjab province of Pakistan.[1] Ahmad Pur East contains 31 Union Councils of Pakistan The city is of particular importance because of its area and history. It is also known as Dera Nawab Sahib. There is a palace covering much of the area around the city. The Sadiq Abbas Government college is based here. The city is situated on the highway 50 km from Bahawalpur. Its historical importance relates to the Nawab of Bahawalpur. The Noor Mahal palace of Nawab Sadiq the fifth is in Bahawalpur. The Railway Station of Ahmedpur East is called Dera Nawab Sahib, which can be viewed while travelling towards Karachi. There are two bus stands for this city: Abbasia Chowk and Chowk Chacha Basti. Ahmadpur East to Bahawalpur Road Tour
The journey from Ahmadpur East to Bahawalpur via N5 is a distance of approximately 54 kilometers and takes around 1 hour to complete. This route is one of the most frequently used routes in the region and offers a smooth and hassle-free ride to the commuters. The road is well-built and well-maintained, and the drive is comfortable. The journey begins in Ahmadpur East, a small town located in the south of Punjab. From Ahmadpur East, we take the N5 highway and head towards Bahawalpur. Oil Tanker Burnt Issue at Ahmadpur East Bypass:
On June 25, 2017, an oil tanker overturned and caught fire on the Ahmadpur East bypass in Pakistan. The incident occurred when the tanker was traveling from Karachi to Lahore, carrying around 40,000 liters of gasoline. As a result of the accident, at least 219 people lost their lives, and over 150 others were injured.
After driving for about 25 kilometers, we reach the town of Zahir Pir. The town is known for its shrine of the Sufi saint Hazrat Pir Zahir Shah, which attracts a large number of visitors and devotees every year. After spending some time in Zahir Pir, we continue on the N5 highway towards Bahawalpur.
Driving another 8 kilometers, we reach the small town of Khanpur Nauranga. The town is famous for its beautiful mosque, which has a unique design and architecture. Visitors can stop by and admire the beauty of the mosque and take some pictures.
Continuing further for another 4 kilometers, we reach the town of Noorpur Nauranga, which is known for its agricultural produce, including wheat, cotton, and sugarcane. The town is surrounded by lush green fields, which are a treat for the eyes.
After driving for around 10 kilometers from Noorpur Nauranga, we reach Khangah Sharif. The town is famous for its shrine of the Sufi saint Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar, and it attracts a large number of visitors and pilgrims every year. Visitors can explore the shrine and learn about the history and culture of the place.
Finally, after driving for another 7 kilometers, we reach the small town of Dera Masti. The town is known for its local bazaar, where visitors can find a variety of goods and products. Visitors can stop by and explore the local market, and buy some souvenirs to take back home. As we drive through these small towns, we get a glimpse into the local culture and traditions of the region. The people are friendly and welcoming, and visitors can interact with them and learn about their way of life.

Minar-e-Pakistan
Minar-e-Pakistan is a national monument located in Lahore, Pakistan. The tower was built between 1960 and 1968 on the site where the All-India Muslim League passed the Lahore Resolution on 23 March 1940 - the first official call for a separate and independent homeland for the Muslims of British India, as espoused by the two-nation theory. The resolution eventually helped lead to the emergence of an independent Pakistani state in 1947.
