Springfield, MA - 10 fun things to do

Visiting or moving, see all there is to do in Springfield, MA.
Welcome to Greater Springfield! With Springfield, the fourth largest city in New England, as its geographic hub, the region offers a booming economy with more affordable pricing and rural feel than its big city neighbors, making it a perfect place to live, work and play. Located at the crossroads of New England with easy access to the north-south Interstate 91 and the east-west Interstate 90, we are situated next to Connecticut River and surrounded by mountains, bluffs, and rolling hills. More than 5,000 businesses call Greater Springfield home and residents take pride in its rich history: the birthplace of basketball with the basketball hall of fame, the invention of the gas-powered motorcycle, the publication of the first Merriam-Webster dictionary and the first commercial radio broadcast. The region, also known as the Knowledge Corridor, is home to nearly 30 world-renowned higher education institutions and more than 150,000 students. It is the economic center of Western Massachusetts with the largest concentration of retail, manufacturing, entertainment, banking, legal, and medical groups. Its cost of living, highly-skilled workforce and affordable real estate are just some of the reasons businesses like German-based Menck Windows choose to make us their U.S. headquarters. Looking for something to do? Look no further! Our $662 million tourism industry offers an abundance of historical sites, museums, sporting attractions and a major convention center. Take a thrill ride on one of the ten roller coasters at Six Flags New England. Wander through the Springfield Museums -- five world-class museums located the Springfield Central Cultural District, featuring the largest Impressionist collection, the Museum of Springfield History and the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Park, right here in the birthplace of Theodore Geisel. Or take a stroll down Mulberry Street, made famous in Dr. Seuss’ first children’s book. Try your hand at a slam dunk the Basketball Hall of Fame, an 80,000 square foot shrine to the world’s second most popular sport. Take in some live music at one of the many clubs, pubs and watering holes. Catch an Off-Broadway show at City Stage or Symphony Hall. Or sit back and relax to the smooth sounds of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, the largest symphony outside of Boston. Enjoy the Painted Lady mansions listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Visit Old First Church, a key stop on the African American Freedom Trail. Spend a day at Lupa Zoo and have a picnic in Forest Park, one of the largest urban parks in the country. Or walk, bike, hike or paddle our more than 2400 acres of parkland, tennis courts, walking trails, playgrounds and picnic areas. Or just spend the day shopping at the Eastfield Mall, a 824,000 square foot shopping center, and head to the suburban eclectic boutiques featuring local and international designers, artisan shops and galleries. And when September and October roll around, there’s no better place to be than the Big E, the sixth largest agricultural fair in America. We’ve got a lot to offer, so come see us soon -- and stay for a day or stay for forever.

BATWING POV - Six Flags America Roller Coaster

Batwing is a lay-down/ flying roller coaster located at Six Flags America, Maryland, USA. 4K POV, 60fps, Front Row on-ride. This great creation made by Vekoma is able to have riders laying on their back, or riding on their stomaches. It's one of the few rides where riders can take inversions on either side because of the position. The attraction is located in the back corner of the park, and is a clone known as the Flying Dutchman. A model used to be found at Kings Island, Firehawk, in Mason Ohio, but it was removed in 2018. #RollerCoaster #SixFlags #ThemePark

Carowinds also has a similar model, without a helix at the end. The Six Flags America model is considered to be the best of the remaining Vekoma Flyers, with a widely regarded smoother ride and better experience than its counterpart.

10.
SUPERMAN RIDE OF STEEL, SIX FLAGS NEW ENGLAND AGAWAM, MASSACHUSETTS

The first is the Superman Ride of Steel. There are around three distinct renditions of this specific ride in all of United States and this specific one is the best of all. It drops you off into a passage from a tallness of 221 feet at paces surpassing 77 miles 60 minutes. There are two bunny slopes, ten seconds of zero gravity and three camel backs. The ride has won a few honors so you better simply attempt this one.

9. MAVERICK, CEDAR POINT AMUSEMENT PARK SANDUSKY, OHIO
Cedar Point is the self-announced home of the rollercoasters. I would vouch for it since it offers around 17 diverse rollercoaster rides. Nonconformist was inherent the year 2007. It won't not be the most astounding or the speediest but rather it unquestionably is one of the best.

8.Wicked Twister, Cedar Point, Sandusky, Ohio
Evil Twister is the speediest and tallest reversed liner on the planet. Flying out at 72 mph to a stature of 206 feet, the napkin takes riders at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, on a truly contorted ride.Cedar Point.

7.Gravity Max, Lihpao Land Discovery World, Taiwan
The ride slowly inches up a 114-foot lift before stopping at the top just long enough to unleash a family of butterflies in your stomach. Then, suddenly, the track breaks off.

6.Iron Rattler, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, San Antonio, Texas
The Iron Rattler is an extraordinary mechanical wonder joining a great wooden bolster structure with cutting edge track and rails created of steel, experienced on either a conventional steel or wooden napkin.

5. EEJANAIKA, FUJI-Q HIGHLAND FUJIYOSHIA, JAPAN
This specific name ought to decipher into something like 'Hey, What the Hell?'. This is the second fourth-dimensional napkin on the planet (the first is talked about beneath). There are a couple of contrasts however, the track is longer and the tallness is a small piece taller at 250 fee.

4. EXPEDITION GEFORCE, HOLIDAY PARK HABLOCH, RHINELAND-PALATINATE, GERMANY
This happens to be one of the biggest rollercoasters in all of Europe. It offers a great deal of fulfillment too in light of the fact that the track is entirely long. It takes you to a tallness of 203 feet and releases you at paces surpassing 74 miles 60 minutes. This ride offers seven minutes where you feel you are flying and that your weight has vanished; zero gravity. I was in Germany a couple of months back and encountered this one. It is an awful, awful ride. You'll adore it.
