El Salvador Travel Guide - An Amazing Adventure

El Salvador is a country in Central America and, geographically, is part of continental North America. It is bordered on the southwest by the Pacific Ocean, and lies between Guatemala and Honduras. It is divided into 14 sections called Departments. It has 25 volcanoes, 14 lakes, and three large cities and is divided in to East, Central and West with the the capital San Salvador in the central region, Santa Ana in the west and San Miguel the largest city in the east.

The civilization of El Salvador dates from the pre-Columbian time, around 1500 BC, according to evidence provided by the ancient structures of Tazumal in Chalchuapa. El Salvador has a tropical climate with pronounced wet and dry seasons. Temperatures vary primarily with elevation and show little seasonal change. The Pacific lowlands are uniformly hot; the central plateau and mountain areas are more moderate.

3 Days in EL SALVADOR ???????? | my vacation at a yoga & surf retreat in the surf city of El Tunco!

A true vacation, Julie-style. ????

✨ Follow me on IG: instagram.com/missworldwidewu

???? Balancé Yoga & Surf Retreat (we stayed in the Bamboo Suite):

???? Food spots:
➢ Esquina Los Amigos - $1 pupusas right in town
➢ Beto's Restaurante La Libertad - hands down the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been to by the ocean (MUST GO! no reservations needed)
➢ Dale Dale Café - casual lunch spot with an outdoor patio & direct views of beach
➢ Cadejo Brewing Company - local beers right by the ocean, amazing food as well
➢ Mopelia - restaurant in center of town with craft beer and live music on certain nights
➢ PARGOS Restaurante - fresh seafood dishes right by Playa El Tunco, can watch the surfers
➢ Point Break Cafe - espresso drinks, cold brew, & light bites

???? Transportation:
➢ You don't necessarily need a car! If you rent one, you will certainly have more flexibility to go where you want and drive to different beaches. The roads are also easy to drive on. However, we used Uber the entire time and it worked. Only thing to note is that there aren't many Ubers available, so often times we waited 20-30 minutes just for one. **If you plan on staying in El Tunco most of the time, the little town and main roads are very walkable.

???? Music in this video (by Epidemic Sound):
➢ Labios - Lawd Ito
➢ Solar Sailing - Osoku
➢ High Drama - Matt Large
➢ Memories from the Past - Bladverk Band
➢ Windy City Streets - Sarah, the Illstrumentalist
➢ Big Sur Blues - Sarah, the Illstrumentalist
➢ Buenos Dias - Matt Large
➢ Rico - Jobii
➢ Valentines in Reykjavik - baegel

????️ What I Use to Edit/Film:
➢ Sony ZV-1
➢ iPhone 11
➢ Final Cut Pro X
➢ GoPro HERO9

El Salvador Travel Video Guide

El Salvador Travel Video Guide - El Salvador sneaks up on you: in lefty lounge bars in San Salvador, at sobering museums and war memorials, and along lush cloud-forest trails; it's a place of remarkable warmth and intelligence, made all the more appealing for being so unexpected. Travellers tend to skip El Salvador, wooed by marquee destinations such as Guatemala and Costa Rica, and unnerved by stories of civil war and gang violence. But the war ended almost 20 years ago, and crime, while serious, is almost exclusively played out between rival gangs; tourists are virtually never involved.

El Salvador Travel Fact: And though El Salvador has fewer protected areas than its neighbors, you get them practically to yourself -- including pristine forests, active volcanoes and sparkling lakes. The only place you might find a crowd is on Punta Roca, El Salvador's most famous surfing spot -- it happens to be one of the best right point breaks in the world, yet is a ghost town compared to lesser swells in Costa Rica and elsewhere. And when it comes to cities, none in Central America is smarter or cooler than San Salvador, with first-rate universities, museums and galleries, a vibrant bar and live-music scene, and an array of progressive NGOs, both local and international.

Enjoy your El Salvador Travel Video Guide!

Vlog 10 | Acajutla, El Salvador

Another trip in the central part of America. Welcome to Acajutla, El Salvador! We really haven't gone tired of seeing the ocean which led us to finding this beach and indoor pool. Good thing, it is also a restaurant which filled our cravings for seafood and booze.

The shore could have been improved and cleaned more but overall, it was a chilling experience for us.

El Salvador is a Central American country with 200 miles of coastline, more than 170 volcanoes, multiple archeological sites with Mayan ruins and a rich coffee and cacao farming tradition. With so much to offer, El Salvador is a wonderful travel destination. Unfortunately, the country’s reputation abroad usually has more to do with danger.

Ravaged by a civil war in the 1980s and plagued by gang violence in the decades since, this Central America’s smallest country has been deemed a no-go destination for many travelers. However, significant strides in tourism, including cracking down on crime, improving roads, and investing in new hotels and flight routes, have earned this tropical destination another look.

Acajutla is El Salvador's principal seaport located off the pacific coast. This port is situated in an industrial area. Despite being located in an industrial area, we had a warm and colorful welcome by El Salvadorans upon disembarking our ship. Most passengers partake in cruise organized tours as there are no private tour operators in port. For tour options, guests can choose from San Salvador city tour, Mayan ruins, coffee plantations, hike dormant volcanoes or visit historical churches in nearby towns.

We chose an 8-hour excursion of San Salvador city tour with Norwegian Jewel. We traveled inland to San Salvador for a cultural immersion in the alluring capital of El Salvador. Spanish conquistador Pedro de Alvarado founded the city in 1525, but there isn't a single colonial building left as earthquakes had leveled them over the centuries. San Salvador is El Salvador's capital and largest city.
