20131026 & 27 POLOGNE SRODA BY NIGHT WITH FARRAIL TOURS
Un rendez-vous bizarre était donné en cette fin d’octobre 2013 : Sroda at Night !
Pour la deuxième année consécutive FarRail Tours ( ) avait convié une poignée d’amateur à passer « une nuit à Sroda » …
Il fallait profiter de la petite 040 Px 1756 avant la fin de son agrément chaudière arrivant fin 2013.
Les mises en scènes nocturnes furent, comme d’habitude avec FarRail, un grand succès. Certes cette événement est plus orienté photo que vidéo, mais plaisir général partagé par une bande de passionnés.
La ligne Sroda / Zaniemysl :
Sredzka Kolej Powiatowa (Sroda district railway) date de 1902. Initialement à trois fils de rails (voies standard combinée avec du métrique), la section à Zaniemysl fût ouverte en 1910 et avec d'autres branches. Dans les années 1950 le réseau entier a été converti en écartement de 750 mm.
La section Sroda – Zaniemysl (environ 14 kms) a circulé régulièrement jusqu’en 1989. Puis jusque 1999 l’exploitation est restée entièrement vapeur avec une petite 040 Px deux voitures voyageurs et un fourgon frein. Un wagon « mixte » (voie étroite / voie normale) était rajouté lorsque l’on avait besoin d’acheminer un wagon fret depuis la grande ligne.
En 1996 la ligne menaçait d’être fermée, mais les collectivités locales sont intervenues pour son maintien. C’est cette année que la Px48-1920 a été livrée entièrement révisée, son agrément est tombé en 2003. Dès 1999 des essais de diesel Lyd1 ont été fait sans succès sur le parcours. En 2000 un autorail roumain est venu remplacer une des vapeur.
Les services réguliers voyageurs ont cessé le 8 juin 2001.
Après deux ans de pause, les trains sont revenus en 2003 grâce au district de Sroda. Les trains touristiques circulent le dimanche entre Sroda Miasto et Zaniemysl. Le train est constitué de la petite Px48-1756 et deux voitures voyageurs.

It was necessary to take advantage of the 040 Px 1756 before the end of its enjoyment(approval) boiler arriving at the end of 2013.
The night stages were, as usual with FarRail, a big success. Certainly this event is more directed photo than video, but general pleasure was shared by a band of enthusiasts.
The line Sroda / Zaniemysl :
Sredzka Kolej Powiatowa (Sroda district railway) dates 1902. Initially to three threads of rails (standard ways combined with metrics), the section to Zaniemysl is opened in 1910 and with other branches. In the 1950s the whole network was converted in 750 mm space.
The section Sroda-Zaniemysl (approximately 14 km) circulated regularly until 1989. Then to 1999 the exploitation remained completely vapor with a 040 Px two cars travelers and a van brake. A mixed car (narrow gauge / normal gauge) was added when we needed to forward a car freight since the main line.
In 1996 the line threatened to be closed, but local authorities intervened for its preservation. It is this year when Px48-1920 was delivered completely revised, its approval fell in 2003. From 1999 of the tries of diesel Lyd1 were unsuccessfully made on the line. In 2000 a Rumanian railcar came to replace one of vapor.
The regular services travelers stopped on June 8th, 2001.
After two years of break, trains returned in 2003 thanks to the district of Sroda. The tourist trains circulate on Sundays between Sroda Miasto and Zaniemysl. The train is constituted by the Px48-1756 and the two transport travelers.

BIESZCZADZKA KOLEJ LEŚNA: Majdan do Balnica - Bieszczady Forest Railway - Poland (4K)
The Bieszczady Forest Railway (Polish: Bieszczadzka Kolejka Leśna) is a 750 mm (2 ft 5+1⁄2 in) narrow gauge railway built in a sparsely populated, forested region of the Bieszczady Mountains. Construction commenced at the end of the 19th century and completed before World War I. Regular traffic ceased in 1994. Nowadays, a part of the railway is utilized as a tourist attraction. Trains run regularly on weekends from the beginning of May until October, and also on weekdays in July and August.
The main station with all the rolling stock is located in Majdan near Cisna.
Construction of a narrow-gauge railway in the Bieszczady mountains started in 1890, when Galicia was under Austro-Hungarian rule. Its main purpose was to make forest exploitation easier, by linking the heart of Bieszczady with the standard-gauge First Hungarian-Galician Railway (Erste Ungarisch-Galizische Eisenbahn) in Nowy Łupków. The first line, 25 km long, led from Nowy Łupków eastwards to Cisna, mostly along the Solinka river valley, and was opened on 21 January 1898. The gauge initially was 760 mm. The railway was operated by kkStB, and there ran two pairs of mixed trains and a number of timber trains daily. In 1900-1909 there were built further private forest extensions from Cisna towards Kalnica, Beskid (part of Smerek) and Roztoki Górne.
During World War I the railway was used by the Austro-Hungarian army, and was largely destroyed. In 1918, after Poland had regained independence, the railway was taken over by Polish State Railways (PKP). During the economic crisis in the 1930s, its importance decreased and private extensions towards Kalnica, Smerek and Roztoki Górne were disassembled. During World War II and the German occupation, the railway was taken over by German Ostbahn. It was modernized, and the gauge was changed to the current 750 mm. During East Front fighting in 1944, and subsequent fighting with the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, the railway was demolished, and tracks and sleepers were removed in many places or damaged by tanks.
After the war, the Bieszczady mountains were deserted due to the forced resettlement of Ukrainian population, and PKP railways lost interest in renewing operation. By 1953 the line was handed over to State Forests administration (Lasy Państwowe), and subsequently it was rebuilt to serve as a timber railway. By the 1960s it was enlarged: towards the north-west to Mików (linking it with a former private railway to Rzepedź), and eastwards through Cisna to Wetlina and Moczarne. The main depot and station was in Majdan (a settlement of Cisna). In 1963 limited passenger traffic began (it was the only public railway in Poland beside Polish State Railways at that time). Passenger volume reached some 30,000 a year. From the late 1970s, steam traction was replaced with diesel locomotives PKP class Lyd2. Due to economic crisis, competition from road transport, and then Poland's transition to a market economy in the 1980s and 1990s, the railway, still operated by State Forests, fell into financial difficulties, and ceased operation in 1994. Its infrastructure and part of the rolling stock were preserved thanks to placing the railway in the National Monument Registry in 1992.
Bieszczadzka Kolejka Leśna – kolej wąskotorowa w Bieszczadach o szerokości toru 750 mm, będąca najwyżej położoną linią wąskotorową w Polsce. Powstała pod koniec XIX wieku jako kolej użytku publicznego Nowy Łupków – Cisna, uruchomiona w 1898 roku. Po II wojnie światowej eksploatowana była do 1994 roku jako kolej leśna, do transportu drewna i ubocznie do przewozu osób. Od 1997 roku funkcjonuje ponownie jako atrakcja turystyczna na skróconej 20-kilometrowej trasie, głównie w sezonie letnim.
Bazą kolejki jest stacja w Majdanie koło Cisnej, skąd pociągi kursują obecnie na dwóch trasach o łącznej długości 20 km, na wschód w kierunku stacji Przysłup (zatrzymując się w Cisnej, Dołżycy i Krzywem) oraz na zachód do Balnicy. Od 2020 roku ruch poza Dołżycę jest jednak zawieszony. Od 2012 roku kolejka kursuje również zimą w okresie ferii szkolnych.

Study Tour to Poland - Horse tourist route Wielkopolska Podkowa (29.11.2021)
Proiectul Traseul ecoturistic Stâncile Prutului în regiunile Edineț, Rîșcani și Glodeni - a șaptea zi a vizitei de studiu în Polonia.
A șaptea zi a fost dedicată învățării unei alte forme de activitate turistică - turismul cu cai. Traseul pentru cai Wielkopolska Podkowa, cu o lungime de 125 km, are forma unei bucle, ceea ce oferă posibilitatea de a începe călătoria în orice loc ales. Traseul traversează șapte comune din sudul regiunii Wielkopolska.
Am pornit de la o atracție turistică de pe traseu, și anume Nepomucen Brewery, o mică fabrică de bere artizanală din Szkaradów, în apropiere de parcul peisagistic Valea Barycz. A fost fondată de berarii Piotr și Mariusz Musielak. În acest scop, au transformat o brutărie veche de 100 de ani și au proiectat ei înșiși echipamentul de fabricare a berii. Am aflat despre procesul tehnologic și despre meșterii pasionați.
Am mers mai departe pe traseul cailor, de la Jutrosin la Pakosław, pe căruțe trase de cai frumoși din Wielkopolska. Scopul a fost acela de a lua cina în palatul din Pakosław și de a se întâlni cu senatorul Marian Poślednik - președintele Consiliului de administrație al Asociației Grupului de Acțiune Locală Gościnna Wielkopolska.
Pe drumul de întoarcere spre Cichów am vizitat mănăstirea franciscană din Goruszki, situată pe traseul cailor. În timpul celui de-al Doilea Război Mondial, mănăstirea a fost folosită mai întâi ca loc de internare pentru preoții locali și apoi ca închisoare politică (locul de execuție a numeroși prizonieri).
Aceasta a fost ultima zi a bogatului program din Wielkopolska. Seara, în Soplicowo, am făcut bilanțul zilei și al întregului sejur. Reprezentanții partenerilor care au co-organizat vizita de studiu au fost prezenți.
Proiectul este cofinanțat în cadrul programului de cooperare poloneză pentru dezvoltare al Ministerului Afacerilor Externe al Republicii Polonia.

Projekt „Ekoturystyczny szlak „PRUTSKIE SKAŁY w rejonach Edineț, Rîșcani i Glodeni” – siódmy dzień wizyty studyjnej w Polsce.
Siódmy dzień był poświęcony zapoznaniu się z kolejną formą aktywności turystycznej jaką jest turystyka konna. Liczący 125 km długości szlak konny Wielkopolska Podkowa, ma kształt pętli, co daje możliwość rozpoczęcia podróży w dowolnie wybranym miejscu. Szlak przebiega przez siedem gmin w południowej Wielkopolsce.
Rozpoczęliśmy od atrakcji turystycznej na trasie jaką jest Browar Nepomucen, mały, rzemieślniczy browar w Szkaradowie przy Parku krajobrazowym Dolina Baryczy. Został założony przez piwowarów domowych Piotra i Mariusza Musielaków. W tym celu przebudowali stuletnią piekarnię oraz sami zaprojektowali sprzęt warzelniczy. Poznaliśmy proces technologiczny oraz pasjonatów rzemiosła.
W dalszą drogę szlakiem konnym udaliśmy się z Jutrosina do Pakosławia wozami ciągniętymi przez piękne konie wielkopolskie. Celem był obiad w pałacu w Pakosławiu i spotkanie z Panem senatorem Marianem Poślednikiem – Prezesem Zarządu Stowarzyszenia Lokalna Grupa Działania Gościnna Wielkopolska.
W drodze powrotnej do Cichowa zwiedziliśmy opactwo oo. Franciszkanów na Goruszkach leżące na trasie szlaku konnego. W czasie II wojny światowej klasztor został wpierw miejscem internowania okolicznych księży, a następnie więzieniem politycznym (miejsce kaźni wielu więźniów).
To był ostatni dzień bogatego programu w Wielkopolsce. Wieczorem w „Soplicowie” podsumowaliśmy dzień oraz cały pobyt. Obecni byli przedstawiciele partnerów, współorganizujących wizyt studyjną.

PKP ran scheduled, steam hauled NG passenger service over the 11-mile line between Środa Wielkopolska and Zaniemyśl through the summer of 2000. I believe that this was the last such service to be operated by any Class 1 railroad in Europe. We made the trip, including some quality time in the cab, and we share it here with you. Sadly, this doesn't run anymore.
IMHO, not many American rail enthusiasts realize the number and the quality of railfan experiences that are to be found scattered throughout Poland. Some have a vague knowledge of the Wolsztyn Experience, and a few of us have even enjoyed it, but few realize that it is possible to enjoy a great railfan holiday in Poland without even visiting Wolsztyn -- although I can't imagine why any railfan would go to Poland and not visit Wolsztyn. My goal in this series of videos (don't know yet how many there will be) is to share with my compatriots the railfan highlights of my visits to Poland in 2000 and 2003. I hope they will be interesting, entertaining, and maybe even inspire some of you to see it for yourself.

Visitors riding or driving in Poland must have reached the minimum ages laid down for residents of Poland even if they are qualified to drive at a lower age in their country of residence.
A valid UK licence is accepted for stays up to 6 months.
International driving permits (1949 or 1968) are recognised but not compulsory

Overtaking & passing
Drive on the right, overtake on the left. A driver must show his intention to overtake or to change lanes by indicating.
Trams must be overtaken on the right. Drivers may use the part of the road provided for trams but they must free it as soon as a tram or other vehicle on rails approaches. At tram stops where there are no pedestrian islands, drivers should stop to allow passengers to walk safely between the tram and the pavement.
Priority
At the intersections of roads of equal importance, traffic from the right has priority, except in the case of vehicles on rails which take precedence over other traffic.
Vehicles already engaged in roundabout traffic have right of way over approaching vehicles.
At the approach of an emergency vehicle (police car, fire engine, ambulance) with the signals in action (flashing blue lights and two-tone siren), drivers should give way and make its passage as easy as possible.
Speed limits:
In built-up areas the speed is split between the hours of 05:00 to 23:00 (50km/h) and 23:00 to 05:00 (60km/h) unless indicated by signs. In residential zones speed should be kept to 20 km/h.

Jarocin - miasto powiatowe w Wielkopolsce.
Ziemia Jarocińska leży na Nizinie Wielkopolsko – Kujawskiej, w obrębie Wysoczyzny Kaliskiej i u zbiegu dwóch rzek: Warty i Prosny, do której wpadają dwie mniejsze – Lutynia i Lubieszka.
Najwcześniejsze informacje historyczne o Jarocinie pochodzą z dokumentu wystawionego w Poznaniu 30 listopada 1257 roku. Książe wielkopolski Bolesław Pobożny nadał w nim miasto (civitas) i liczne przywileje komesowi Jankowi z wpływowego rodu Zarembów.
Jarocin zawdzięczał swoje powstanie i rozwój położeniu na skrzyżowaniu ważnych szlaków komunikacyjnych: z Poznania do Kalisza i z Torunia do Wrocławia.
W średniowieczu było to dobrze rozwinięte miasto średniej wielkości.
W późniejszych czasach zdarzały się liczne pożary, epidemie, przemarsze obcych wojsk i inne klęski. Jarocin podupadł do tego stopnia, że po pożarze w 1773 roku było tu zaledwie 30 mieszczan osiadłych, a 20 lat później liczba domów nie przekroczyła jeszcze 50.
W 1875 roku przez jarociński dworzec przebiegały linie do Gniezna, Kluczborka, Krotoszyna i Poznania. W następnych latach doszły jeszcze połączenia z Lesznem i Śremem.
W latach okupacji hitlerowskiej Jarocin, jak i cała Wielkopolska, został włączony do Rzeszy.
Po drugiej wojnie światowej Jarocin stał się znaczącym ośrodkiem przemysłowym. W mieście powstały jedne z największych w kraju fabryk mebli, które wyposażyły w swoje produkty między innymi markowe hotele Warszawy. Równocześnie z rozwojem przemysłu postępował rozwój budownictwa mieszkaniowego.
