Archaeo Ethno Park - Ravna on the Danube Trail of Serbia
The Archaeo-Ethno Park is located in Ravna, 8 km north of Knjaževac. The concept of the park is that of a kind of open-air museum associated with the start of systematic archaeological excavations of the late Roman site of Timacum Minus. The main idea of the archaeological part of the park is to present significant archaeological finds from the site of Timacum Minus and the Lapidarium and also to make visitors familiar with the history of archaeological research of the nearby site.
Additionally, one of the main ideas of the ethnological part of the park is to illustrate the ambience of a 19th century patriarchal village community with residential and commercial buildings as its parts.
The Roman Emperors and Danube Wine Route, with its Danube and Adriatic Trails, extends through nine European countries and it is a network of sub-destinations, created around individual archaeological sites, locations, places and buildings, which are monuments to the leadership of the Roman emperors in Late Antiquity. The Route was certified as a European Cultural Route by the European Institute for Cultural Routes (EICR).
Gornjane sunrise - incredible vistas of Borski Stol, Veliki & Mali Krš
In the second half of February 2022 winter took a break in the serbian Carpathians and let us make a relaxed trip in true springtime weather to the mountains surrounding the village of Gornjane. It is really a unique landscape in eastern Serbia, offering wide open vistas with picturesque views of the rocky mountain ridges of Borski Stol, Veliki and Mali Krš, which, due to their dramatic cliffs, seem to be much higher than they actually are. I experienced a great sunrise there in my rooftop tent, and lots of oportunities for flying along the rocky ridges. This video is a short overview of those two days.
