Welcome to our Wall Tent Tour! We wanted to share all the details of our off grid set up with you now that it’s finished. It took roughly 2 months to build the wall tent + platform (with lots of breaks to snuggle our new baby, of course) and turned out much more like a tiny house than a camping tent. It has a full kitchen, composting toilet, outdoor shower, fridge/freezer, enough solar power to edit these videos and is nestled in the woods in Upstate NY.
It really feels like this is the best adventure we’ve had yet, and it’s just beginning! Lou and I have been dreaming of our own property for so many years and now that we have this incredible base camp to work from it feels like we can start tackling the long list of projects that lie ahead. We can’t wait to get this homestead off the ground and share the whole journey with you.

I used to be such a sunshine girl, but with a baby, it's been the nicest change of pace to have cool weather and get to spend the days all snuggled up cozy in the tent as a family. It's definitely been trickier for Lou to work on his build projects though with all the mud on the property. Luckily before the rain hit he was able to build an outhouse with a few new friends of ours. There's a whole build video of that coming soon, but hope you enjoy the sneak peek this week!

Off grid cabin build in bush Alaska. Zero road access, airplane, boat or snowmachine access only. All materials were produced on site or carried in. We are building a cabin to be passed on to our kids. This trip we prepped the cabin for more logs and removed ice and snow. Build the outhouse back at my house to bring out at a later time.
