鳴門海峡渦潮観光・淡路島のうずしおクルーズ船にて Whirlpools of Naruto
渦の映像は2分頃からです。淡路島のうずしおクルーズ船の日本丸に乗って鳴門の渦潮を見てきました。最速潮流の時間帯になる船便のひとつ前の便に乗りました。最初は小さな渦でしたが、時間とともに大きくきれいな渦が見られるようになり大満足です。帰港途中に、次の便の咸臨丸とすれ違いました。この便に乗っていればもっと大きな渦が見えたかも知れませんが、道中の景色もきれいで、ゆったりとリゾート気分を味わえました。行きも帰りもスタッフが”手”を振って送り迎えしてくれました。またぜひ行きたいです。淡路発の観潮船、超おすすめです。
豪快な渦を見るために、なるべく大潮の日で、なおかつ潮見表で渦潮の見ごろの時間帯を確認して、その時間に合わせて見に行かれることをお勧めします。

The video of the vortex is from about 2 minutes. We have seen the whirlpools of Naruto riding on Japan round of Awaji Island Whirlpools cruise ship. Although I rode to the previous flights of the shipping service to be in the time zone of the fastest tidal current, very happy beautiful vortex is seen. On the way return to port, was passing and the next flight Kanrin Maru. You might have more large eddy seemed if riding on this flight, but along the way the scenery is beautiful, we taste resort feeling leisurely. Also I went back also told me to drop off and pick up waving the staff is hand. Also I want to go by all means. Awaji departure of watching tide ship, super recommended.

Naruto whirlpools
The Naruto whirlpools (鳴門の渦潮, Naruto no Uzushio) are tidal whirlpools in the Naruto Strait, a channel between Naruto in Tokushima and Awaji Island in Hyōgo, Japan. The strait between Naruto and Awaji island has a width of about 1.3 km (0.81 miles). The strait is one of the connections between the Pacific Ocean and the Inland Sea, a body of water separating Honshū and Shikoku, two of the main islands of Japan. The tide moves large amounts of water into the Inland Sea twice a day and also removes large amounts of water twice a day. With a range of up to 1.7 m (5.6 ft), the tide creates a difference in the water level of up to 1.5 m (4 ft 11 in) between the Inland Sea and the Pacific. Due to the narrowness of the strait, the water rushes through the Naruto channel at a speed of about 13–15 km/h (8–9 mph) four times a day, twice flowing in and twice flowing out. During a spring tide, the speed of the water may reach 20 km/h (12 mph), creating vortices up to 20 m (66 ft) in diameter.
The current in the strait is the fastest in Japan and the fourth fastest in the world after the Saltstraumen outside Bodø in Norway, which reaches speeds of 37 km/h (23 mph), the Moskenstraumen off the Lofoten islands in Norway (the original maelstrom), which reaches speeds of 27.8 km/h (17.3 mph); and the Old Sow whirlpool in New Brunswick, Canada, which has been measured with a speed of up to 27.6 km/h (17.1 mph).
The whirlpools can be observed from ships, or from the Ōnaruto Bridge spanning the strait. The suspension bridge has a total length of 1,629 m (5,344 ft), with the center span over the strait having a length of 876 m (2,874 ft) and a height of 41 m (135 ft) above sea level. A good view is also possible from the shore on Awaji island.
The whirlpools inspired the name for Naruto Uzumaki from the manga and anime Naruto, Uzumaki (うずまき) meaning whirlpool and Naruto referring to the bridge. The Land of Waves (波の国, Nami no Kuni), is the country with which the Naruto manga and anime introduces the Great Naruto Bridge (なると大橋, Naruto Ōhashi) which is based on the Naruto Bridge spanning the Naruto Strait.

鳴門海峡に架かる大鳴門橋に設けられた海上45ｍにある遊歩道「渦の道」の展望室から撮影した鳴門の渦潮です。何かのＴＶのロケやっていました。

It is the whirlpools of Naruto seen from the large tide boat Wanda Naruto. Unfortunately it was a cloudy sky, but the tide was fast due to the spring tide, and the vortex was clearly visible. I hope that the whirlpools of the Naruto Strait, one of the three major tides in the world, will be registered as a World Heritage Site.
In order to see the whirlpools, it is recommended that you check the best time of the whirlpools on the tide table on the day of the spring tide and go to see it at that time.

迫力の渦潮 鳴門海峡の壮大な自然ショー
兵庫県の淡路島と徳島県を隔てる鳴門海峡の渦潮。北の播磨灘から南の紀伊水道へ流れ落ちていく。観潮船の吉田元大船長が「大きく揺れます」と呼びかける。白波が立つ渦が間近に迫る。春分が近づくと、絶好の観潮シーズンだ。
月と太陽の引力によって、幅約１・３キロの海峡を挟んで満潮と干潮が隣り合う不思議な現象が、ほぼ６時間ごとに起きる。潮位の差は、春や秋の大潮の時で最大１・５メートル。潮は高い側から低い側に流れ、時速２０キロに達することも。水深８０メートルを超すＶ字谷や深さ２００メートルに達するくぼ地など海底の複雑な地形が、潮の緩急を生み、渦を生む。渦の直径は時には２０メートルにもなる。壮大な自然のショーだ。
