About Palau: Palau, officially the Republic of Palau (Palauan: Beluu er a Belau) and historically Belau, Palaos or Pelew, is an island country in the western Pacific. The nation has approximately 340 islands and connects the western chain of the Caroline Islands with parts of the Federated States of Micronesia. It has a total area of 466 square kilometers (180 square miles). The most populous island is Koror, home to the countrys most populous city of the same name. The capital Ngerulmud is located on the nearby island of Babeldaob, in Melekeok State. Palau shares maritime boundaries with international waters to the north, Micronesia to the east, Indonesia to the south, and the Philippines to the north west. The country was originally settled approximately 3,000 years ago by migrants from Maritime Southeast Asia. Spain was the first European nation to invade the islands in the 16th century, and they were made part of the Spanish East Indies in 1574. Following Spains defeat in the Spanish–American War in 1898, the islands were sold to Germany in 1899 under the terms of the German–Spanish Treaty, where they were administered as part of German New Guinea. After World War I, the islands were made a part of the Japanese-ruled South Seas Mandate by the League of Nations. During World War II, skirmishes, including the major Battle of Peleliu, were fought between American and Japanese troops as part of the Mariana and Palau Islands campaign. Along with other Pacific Islands, Palau was made a part of the United States-governed Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands in 1947. Having voted in a referendum against joining the Federated States of Micronesia in 1978, the islands gained full sovereignty in 1994 under a Compact of Free Association with the United States. Why Living Like A..?:
Living Like A Palauan was an idea I had prior to Palau had I immersed myself deeply and naturally into the culture. And because I did, that idea quickly took off with the video project underway Mid November until this week.
But Living Like A.. didnt begin in Palau, it actually began 5 years ago in the Kingdom Of Tonga????????, where I was so blessed to be able to stay in a village on the island group of Vava'u.
Little did I know, my curiosity of the ways Tongans live their lives allowed me to, in the short time that i stayed, LIVE LIKE A TONGAN.
Living Like A Tongan was my very first true culturally immersive experience in my travels and to this day is very special to me, as well as the thousands of Tongans that watch it. It opened the door to a whole new inner passion of mine and that was learning about world cultures. ????
Living Like a Tongan happened to be one of my biggest Youtube videos and has beautifully brought so many proud Tongans to my video and to my channel, thanking me for loving their culture and taking the time to show the Tongan way.
Living Like A Palaun is very much all of this with the same heart, love, and passion for culture. The only difference now, my camera gear is far better and my storytelling and post editing skills are through the roof.
Which means, the ability to extend the voices of Palau and represent a whole culture is far greater. ????????

Diving Temple of Doom - Palau - Turtle Skeletons
What an exciting dive in Palau. Tucked deep inside of Palau's famous Blue Holes, sits the light-swallowing entrance to the Temple of Doom. Inside, skeletons of turtles litter the barren sea floor of this secret chamber. A handful of these skeletal remains are well preserved and sure to quicken the heartbeat of any diver who discovers this cache of goodies. Many of the local, experienced divers helps keep them together and preserved for tourist divers to enjoy. It was told to us that turtles find their way into the cave and they couldn’t find their way out and die from suffocation. Guidelines run through the entrance and throughout the entire Temple and they are very are old. This dive is not for Open Water Certified divers. The entrance sits at a depth of 100 feet and you could reach a depth of 130 feet as you explore. It’s highly recommended that you do this dive with a local diver or dive guide who knows the site. Bring reels, some strobes, and plenty of light.
All in all,this was a great dive and I hate that Cara couldn’t go with, but being only 14, i,didn’t want to put the dive company in any hot water. Just need to make sure we do it next time we go. Our dive guide was great and lit up all of the turtle skeletons for some amazing pictures. Thermoclines were pretty intense with layers of warm and cold water throughout the dive. When we left the cave, there were some pretty amazing anemones as you exit the Blue Holes. Once again a shout out to Fish n’ Fins for putting together some amazing dives and Udi and Ogie for guiding them.
