We got a little emotional with the all-new meet-and-greet with Joy and Sadness from Disney-Pixar’s instant classic, “Inside Out” at Epcot, Walt Disney World! They were bubbly and excited to see us!
DACS - Digital Animation Control System Walt Disney World Inside Out TV show (1995)
Walt Disney World Inside Out is an American monthly (later weekly) television show that aired on the Disney Channel from 1994 to 1997. The show featured footage of attractions at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
The original host was comedian Scott Herriot, but in 1995 J. D. Roth and Brianne Leary took over the hosting duties with George Foreman as the co-host.
The Digital Animation Control System (DACS) came into being in 1969, making use of the now rapidly developing computer technology. DACS involves the movements being recorded onto a computer disk, which animators then use to manipulate the figures’ movements via a console. Using this system the animators are able to adjust or delete actions at the touch of a button. DACS technology has moved on a long way since then, and a more sophisticated version is now used to control all of the Audio-Animatronics figures we see at the parks today. All of the Audio-Animatronics figures in Epcot and Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World are controlled from a system composed of multiple DACS from a single remote location in the Magic Kingdom.

An EPROM (rarely EROM), or erasable programmable read-only memory, is a type of programmable read-only memory (PROM) chip that retains its data when its power supply is switched off. Computer memory that can retrieve stored data after a power supply has been turned off and back on is called non-volatile. It is an array of floating-gate transistors individually programmed by an electronic device that supplies higher voltages than those normally used in digital circuits. Once programmed, an EPROM can be erased by exposing it to strong ultraviolet light source (such as from a mercury-vapor lamp). EPROMs are easily recognizable by the transparent fused quartz window on the top of the package, through which the silicon chip is visible, and which permits exposure to ultraviolet light during erasing.
William Barnard Bill Justice was an American animator and engineer for the Walt Disney Company. Justice joined Walt Disney Studios as an animator in 1937 and worked on features such as 1940's Fantasia, 1944's The Three Caballeros, 1951's Alice in Wonderland, and 1953's Peter Pan. He is arguably best known as the animator of the rabbit Thumper from 1942's Bambi and chipmunks Chip and Dale. He was the director of 1957's The Truth About Mother Goose, 1959's Noah's Ark, and 1962's A Symposium on Popular Songs, all of which were nominated for Academy Awards as Best Short Subject, Cartoon. In total, Justice worked on 57 shorts and 19 features.
In 1965, Justice joined Walt Disney Imagineering, where he programmed figures for several Disney attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, Country Bear Jamboree, and Mickey Mouse Revue. He retired from the company in 1979 and was named a Disney Legend in 1996. He is the author of Justice for Disney, which chronicles his years with the company.
Mickey Mania Parade is a former daytime parade that ran at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom from June 1994 to September 1996 and Tokyo Disneyland in 1995.
SpectroMagic was a Nighttime Parade presented in Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World. It was introduced in 1991 as part of the park's 20th-anniversary celebrations, replacing the Main Street Electrical Parade.
