Latvia: What to Know Before You Visit Latvia
If you are heading to Latvia there are a few things you should know before you head to this forested land. The captial Riga is chock full of great architecture and some neat churches. The occupation museum is probably the most important museum to visit in the capital. Getting around the country is easist by bus. The Euro is the currency of Latvia. And you have forests in the interior and some nice beaches on the coasts to enjoy.

How To Have An Amazing Day In Riga, Latvia
Riga, Latvia is a popular stop on a Baltic cruise and there's a lot you can see in one day. In this video, we spend the day exploring Riga for the first time and seeing all the top attractions the city has to offer. We begin at Dome Square in the heart of the Old Town and head down a skinny street of stars to St. Peter's Church, which is almost as old as the city of Riga itself. Next we stop for some good luck at the Bremen Town Musicians, one of the most popular places to take a photo in the city. Next is House of the Blackheads, an absolutely gorgeous merchant house that has been a pillar of Riga society for centuries. You can see the medieval cellars and gloriously rebuilt exterior. Right outside, don't miss the marker dedicated to Riga's first Christmas tree too! Later we go to Riga's Central Market, which is the largest market in Europe - yes, all of Europe. One glimpse will tell you why: it's housed in five repurposed Zeppelin hangars. Extremely unique and a must see in Riga. Visit the Centrālais Food Court here for great food options that are cheaper than you'll typically find around the Old Town. To end the night, we head to a subterranean restaurant called Rozengrāls that has been around since 1293! Here you'll find the city's first well, caverned ceilings, and everything lit by candles. We try Riga Black Balsam, a traditional and much beloved Latvian drink with a secret recipe. It was once used to cure Catherine the Great of an ailment! This place oozes atmosphere and fun and we highly recommend a visit.

Latvia, officially the Republic of Latvia (Latvian: Latvijas Republika), is a country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. Since its independence, Latvia has been referred to as one of the Baltic states. It is bordered by Estonia to the north, Lithuania to the south, Russia to the east, and Belarus to the southeast, and shares a maritime border with Sweden to the west. Latvia has 1,957,200 inhabitants and a territory of 64,589 km2 (24,938 sq mi). The country has a temperate seasonal climate. #Latvia #Hindi #LatviaGirl After centuries of Swedish, Polish and Russian rule, a rule mainly executed by the Baltic Garistocracy, the Republic of Latvia was established on 18 November 1918 when it broke away and declared independence in the aftermath of World War I.However, by the 1930s the country became increasingly autocratic after the coup in 1934 establishing an authoritarian regime under Kārlis Ulmanis. The country's de facto independence was interrupted at the outset of World War II, beginning with Latvia's forcible incorporation into the Soviet Union, followed by the invasion and occupation by Nazi Germany in 1941, and the re-occupation by the Soviets in 1944 (Courland Pocket in 1945) to form the Latvian SSR for the next 45 years. The peaceful Singing Revolution, starting in 1987, called for Baltic emancipation from Soviet rule and condemning the Communist regime's illegal takeover. It ended with the Declaration on the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia on 4 May 1990, and restoring de facto independence on 21 August 1991.[18] Latvia is a democratic sovereign state, parliamentary republic and a very highly developed country according to the United Nations Human Development Index.[19] Its capital Riga served as the European Capital of Culture in 2014. Latvian is the official language. Latvia is a unitary state, divided into 119 administrative divisions, of which 110 are municipalities and nine are cities. Latvians and Livonians are the indigenous people of Latvia. Latvian and Lithuanian are the only two surviving Baltic languages. Despite foreign rule from the 13th to 20th centuries, the Latvian nation maintained its identity throughout the generations via the language and musical traditions. However, as a consequence of centuries of Russian rule (1710–1918) and later Soviet occupation, Latvia is home to a large number of ethnic Russians (26.9% in Latvia),[21] some of whom (14.1% of Latvian residents) have not gained citizenship, leaving them with no citizenship at all. Until World War II, Latvia also had significant minorities of ethnic Germans and Jews. Latvia is historically predominantly Lutheran Protestant, except for the Latgale region in the southeast, which has historically been predominantly Roman Catholic. The Russian population are largely Eastern Orthodox Christians. Latvia is a member of the European Union, Eurozone, NATO, the Council of Europe, the United Nations, CBSS, the IMF, NB8, NIB, OECD, OSCE, and WTO. For 2014, the country was listed 46th on the Human Development Index and as a high income country on 1 July 2014. TRAVELING TO RIGA, LATVIA ???????? (Our First Impressions!)
WELCOME TO RIGA, LATVIA! We were so stoked to travel to Riga, because we'll be staying in this beautiful city for 2 weeks! This is by far the longest we've stayed anywhere since we started traveling, so we're excited to explore the city and have a little bit of consistency.
After arriving in Riga at night, we then headed to our Airbnb to check in and grab a quick bite to eat. The next day, we spent the day exploring Riga Old Town (which is SO beautiful) and trying Latvian chocolate and a traditional Latvian liqueur called Black Balsam.
Overall, Riga looks like an amazing city and we are so excited to explore even more.

This video of Latvia is taken in 2019 but first time I was in Latvia in 2016 and they used the currency LATS and now to my surprised they are using Euro. people are so friendly and very kindhearted. Latvia is a country on the Baltic Sea between Lithuania and Estonia. Its landscape is marked by wide beaches as well as dense, sprawling forests. Latvia’s capital is Riga, home to notable wooden and art nouveau architecture, a vast Central Market and a medieval Old Town with St. Peter's Church. From Riga you can take ferry to Sweden and Finland and ferry normally leaves everyday in high season around 17 pm. The beautiful country in Baltic always always lures many travelers because it is safe and beautiful and easy to travel not only that it is cheap also. Hurray! Nepal-Latvia friendship. We have promoted our visit Nepal 2020 here in Latvia. Latvia was entered to Schengen territories in December 22nd 2008.
