Just arrived and very first time in Fes, i decide to take a walk through the medina and have a look to the famous Bab Bou Jeloud also called The Blue Door. I was kinda sick and tired therefore this walk might not be as smooth as usual. Also, as i got lost, those wonderful kids helped me to find out where the blue door is. As a sweet memory and archive, i would want to share with you this moment. So you can hear us talking a bit and having fun, which is the first time on this channel since i always keep silent. I'm Jason, a full-time British Travel Vlogger and YouTuber who's been to 55 countries. I've been travelling around the world full-time since 2017. So far, my trips have taken me to Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.
I have travel series' from many of the world's best (and least) known destinations. I filmed the first vlogs on my channel in the summer of 2016 after spending a year living in China. A proper solo trip around Eastern Europe followed after graduating from University in the summer of 2017, taking me to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Kosovo. This trip marked the start of my efforts to make a YouTube full-time job.
After that European trip I went heavily into exploring Asia, visiting India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Kazakhstan (seeing me cover a lot of Far East and Southeast Asia in particular).
I have also travelled to North Africa and the Middle East fairly extensively over the last five years, filming videos in Turkey, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Israel and Palestine.
To date, I have not yet been to Australasia or South America. Though I am hoping to visit the latter sometime in 2022, along with a first stop in the Caribbean.
I've travelled to North America just once as a YouTuber, visiting Mexico in 2021. Though I have been to both the USA and Canada, this was as a child on family holidays.
So far in 2022, I've taken my first trip to Sub Saharan Africa, visiting both Kenya and Tanzania, before heading to the Middle East, stopping in Dubai and Lebanon. Europe followed, covering both the Greek and Turkish sides of Cyprus, and afterwards going back to Italy for the second time to cover Milan and Sicily. In the summer I visited the Caribbean for the first time, spending over a month in the Dominican Republic, before stopping in Belgium on my way home.
After shooting some videos in Taiwan, I made my way to the Philippines for the second time. I finished 2022 by filming a series of videos in Morocco.

MOROCCO'S MOST INTENSE CITY: FEZ | Lost in the medina & major culture shock

This is another multi day vlog!
We took a 4 and a half hour bus from Chefchaouen to Fez. The bus ride was surprisingly smooth and nice! Upon arrival, we drove to our Airbnb by taxi and Matt got fake kidnapped by the driver.
The next day, we took a full day tour of the Fez Medina. However, it turned out our guide was banned for some reason, and wasn't able to actually enter the Medina. It started off well, and we enjoyed visiting the north castle and the Roman ruins. After this though, he took us to a bunch of shops to get sold by his friends for 2+ hours, and then to a local lunch that cost $30+ USD. He proceeded to take us to his private Airbnb for some reason, located over 45 minutes out of the city.
We were super uncomfortable, and while everything turned out ok, we highly recommend that you book a sanctioned tour with reviews, at least while in Fez.
On our last day in Fez, we explored the tanneries and the oldest university in the world, before packing to leave the next day!

Vast 9th-century Karaouiyne University is tiled in vivid painted ceramics, while the towering R’cif Mosque overlooks a lively market square. Souk vendors specialize in perfumes, spices, lamps, and leather, and dining choices range from street kebabs to stylish gourmet restaurants.

Fez is one of the imperial cities of Morocco. It is famous for being home to the world's oldest university, the University of al-Qarawiyyin (established in 859 AD and taking on the title of a university in 1963). It has an ancient walled city, which many compare to the walled city of Jerusalem.
Watch the video as we walk from the train station Gare de Fez going to Palace of Fes. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to film around the palace but we just take our chances to filmed as long as nobody will stop us. Gladly, we create this video from that moment. Thank you for the locals and police men for giving this opportunity without any trouble. I love the city of Fez. It was really amazing!
