Hot Rocket Racing #5 Formula Karting April 2022
Hot Rocket Racing Club Race #5 held in Formula Karting at The Strand Mall, Kota Damansara.
A large indoor track built inside The Strand Mall's upper carpark, the track is technical, flowing and bumpy.
My previous attempts here were messy, uninspiring and slow.
I didn't plan on joining this event, but I came to support and hang out. Terry and friends cajoled and convinced me to join, and why not.
To my surprise, I did better than my last visit and was reasonably fast, though I missed out on Group A (which is mega fast!)
So I qualified Group B in P2. After the initial few laps chasing down the leader, I overtook him (and hung on after getting hit!) and held my lead all the way to the finish line. What a race. I even did my best time of 38.460 sec (previously 40s) during the race.

The Racing Line: Dallas Karting Complex (CCW) — Rental Races with UTA Racing!
This is another video of The Racing Line series where we also see some race craft. Karting is one of the purest forms of motorsports racing and one of the best and cheapest ways to learn how to become a good driver. Even in simple rental karts like these Sodis from Dallas Karting Complex, you can learn a lot just by watching others and trying different lines. Your lap times are recorded so you are able to compare when you make changes what worked better or worse for you and keep improving the more seat time you get.
Dallas Karting Complex is one of the most major karting racetracks in the Dallas metroplex and they race combustion engines, unlike most of the other karting places which rent electric gokarts.
In May 2015, as we ended our weekend at the most prestigious Formula SAE competition in the US in Michigan in 12th place (out of 120 teams), we decided the day after we drove back to all go to DKC as a team and unleash all we still had left in us. Great bonding exercise and it gave a chance to every single team member to drive. At competition, we had 4 designated drivers and only us 4 were allowed to drive. Every team member has a very specific role, whether it is to drive the car, partake in a presentation or defend our designs.
