Annecy surnommée la « Venise des Alpes » est une commune et une ville française, chef-lieu et préfecture du département de la Haute-Savoie en région Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Au nord des Alpes françaises, après Genève à 40 km au nord, Annecy fait partie de l'axe des agglomérations du sillon alpin en alignement avec Chambéry puis Grenoble et Valence.
La « Perle des Alpes », avec 131 766 habitants, se hisse à la 29e place des villes françaises les plus peuplées depuis l'absorption des territoires d'Annecy-le-Vieux, de Cran-Gevrier, de Meythet, de Pringy et de Seynod.
Le surnom de « Venise des Alpes » découle des canaux du Vassé, de Saint Dominique et du Thiou qui protégèrent la cité, puis apportèrent la force hydraulique à l'artisanat textile, laissant progressivement place à l'industrialisation du xixe siècle subsistant de nos jours à travers la présence de sièges sociaux tels que Fusalp, SNR, Salomon, Mavic ou Entremont.

Annecy, France
The city is home to the Château d'Annecy, a castle built between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries. You will travel back in time with its medieval quarter and ancient bridges. Annecy is surrounded by several hills and the landscape is magnificent.

Annecy is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. North of the French Alps, after Geneva 40 km to the north, Annecy is part of the axis of the agglomerations of the Alpine furrow in alignment with Chambéry then Grenoble and Valence.
The Pearl of the Alps from Raoul Blanchard's urban monograph forms a contact cluse between the Plaine des Fins and the Pre-Alps constraining its population within its building zone from the 1960s to the municipal merger of 2017. Since the absorption of the territories of Annecy-le-Vieux, Cran-Gevrier, Meythet, Pringy and Seynod, Annecy has risen to 29th place among French cities.2 the most populous with 130,721 inhabitants.
Historic residence of the Counts of Geneva in the thirteenth century, then of the Counts of Savoy in the fifteenth century, the village became the capital of Savoy with the prerogative of Genevois-Nemours including Genevois, Faucigny and Beaufortain from 1434 to 1659. Its religious role intensified in 1536, during the Calvinist Reformation; while the bishop of Geneva took refuge there, François de Sales made it an advanced citadel of the Catholic Counter-Reformation, earning it the nickname Rome of the Alps. The Treaty of Turin led to the annexation of the Duchy of Savoy, attaching the city to the France in 1860 during the reign of Napoleon III.
The nickname Venice of the Alps derives from the canals of Vassé, Saint Dominique and Thiou that protected the city, then brought hydraulic power to textile craftsmanship, gradually giving way to the industrialization of the nineteenth century remaining today through the presence of headquarters, such as Fusalp, SNR, Salomon, Mavic or Entremont.
In the twentieth century, the tourism sector benefits from the renowned purity of the alpine air and the lake, the surrounding winter sports, the conservation of green spaces and a cultural heritage that is being renovated. The touristic-cultural turning point began in 1960 with the organization of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the Lake Festival, each attracting a hundred thousand visitors each summer.
In 1973, the Annecy University Institute of Technology was opened, linked to the Savoie University Centre, attached in 1979 to the new University of Savoie, which in 2015 became the Savoie Mont Blanc University, along with those of the Savoie Technolac and Jacob-Bellecombette campuses.
In 2021, Annecy is elected the city of France where we live the best, a ranking established by the association Villes et villages based on 183 criteria3 but is dethroned in 2022 by Angers because of the criteria for access to housing.

- On la surnomme la Venise des Alpes, il suffit de voir la beauté de la ville avec le lac d'Annecy, pour comprendre cette désignation hautement justifiée .
- Les communes de proximités d'Annecy comme Sevrier, Duingt, Saint-Jorioz, Menthon-Saint-Bernard et bien d'autres, offrent une qualité de vie avec un panorama exceptionnel.
- La situation géographique est géniale, car on peut divaguer entre lac et montagne pour les activités sportives et culturelles.

This long video summarizes a long day of flying. Our total flight time will be approximately 4 hours combined from 4 flights. After a short sightseeing flight to Étretat, we continue from Le Havre to the Normandy and Mont Saint Michel. Our final destination for this day is Bordeaux. But due to an announced storm coming from the Atlantic, we make cautious diversion decisions along the way. But just watch for yourself.

TOUR DU LAC D'ANNECY EN AVION... C'EST MAGNIFIQUE ! ????
Salut les amis, j'ai eu un bol incroyable samedi matin ! je me suis rendu aux journées d'essai des Mercedes électriques à coté de l'aéroport d'Annecy-Meythet(j'ai pas pu filmer n'étant pas tout seul dans la EQA)... et l'équipe Mercedes m'a payé un baptême dans un avion de tourisme 4 places ????.
Bien sûr j'ai tout filmé mais cette fois avec le smartphone. On a fait le tour du lac d'Annecy et je vous montre tout ça dans ma vidéo... Bon visionnage les amis.

Pensacola Pilot lands at Annecy, France LFLP w ATC
Approaching from the north, we saw clouds obscuring the mountain peaks. We circled around to approach from the south where the terrain was lower. Lots of ATC with French controllers! VFR flight was on 6/11/18 in a Piper Archer during the French Circumavigator Tour by Air Safaries International.
